AgGateway announces that Karen Oerter has been appointed to the organization’s Board of Directors. Oerter replaces Jeremy Wilson, who vacated the position to join AgGateway staff as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer on January 1. She will serve a two-year term.
Oerter leads the IT group at Winfield United, a wholesale supplier of crop inputs, seed, and crop nutrients, and a brand of Land O’ Lakes Inc. She joined Winfield Solutions in May 2010 as Marketing Director of Data and Insights and later added business responsibilities for insight platforms including CRM, AgriMine, and the AgTech Suite. In 2016, Karen took on the IT Program Integration for the Winfield Solutions-United Suppliers merger and has remained as a business/IT lead for Winfield United.
“Karen is engaged and very supportive of Winfield United’s involvement in AgGateway over the past five years. In her position, she oversees connectivity efforts for crop protection, nutrition, and retail agronomy, and she has encouraged the collaborative work undertaken to improve ADAPT. She also has participated in seed connectivity and product catalog efforts and provided very valuable contributions to the work of AgGateway volunteers. We’re excited to have her on the Board and look forward to working with her in the years ahead,”
says Brent Kemp, President, and CEO of AgGateway.
“I’ve been on a long journey with digital in marketing roles and IT. In this day and age, and especially over the past year, the industry has learned that you can’t do business without interconnected digital systems. Through AgGateway we have done good work that needs to continue at all levels … allied suppliers, retailers, and distributors. Everyone has been willing to pitch in and work together, and this is a great opportunity to have more direct and active engagement with the organization and its work,”
