The versatile 5670 pivot fold, split row planter, available in 12/23-row and 16/31-row configurations, plants both 15″ and 30″ row widths and can be used as a dedicated narrow-row planter or a multi-crop planting workhorse.

Kinze Manufacturing will introduce its new 3505 True Speed high-speed planter for the 2023 season, providing advanced technology and improved productivity on smaller farms or small fields.

“The 3505 pivot fold planter is the newest addition to Kinze’s True Speed high-speed planter lineup. It is simple to operate, high-performing and offered with or without split 8-row 30″ and 6-row 30″ configurations,”

said Kinze president, Susanne Veatch.

With Kinze’s True Speed technology, consisting of a high-speed seed meter and seed tube, the 3505 enables farmers to plant at speeds up to 12 mph, doubling the number of acres they can cover in a typical day without compromising singulation accuracy or spacing.

Performance is optimized with Kinze’s Blue Vantage display with shared coverage data and up to four planter-mounted cameras. The 3505 also features Kinze’s Blue Drive electric drive and True Depth hydraulic downforce for accurate seed placement to maximize performance and productivity. Bulk-fill seed-carrying capacity of 50 bushels, with liquid and dry fertilizer options, enables farmers to get in and out of the field quickly.

Other features include:

Exceptional seed-handling capabilities with upgraded bulk fill entrainer. Farmers can use the 3505 for planting corn, soybeans, sweet corn, cotton, sunflowers, milo/sorghum, edible beans, sugar beets, and wheat.

Narrow transport and easy serviceability are achieved with a double frame, lift and pivot folding frame design.

Improved durability, longer wear life, and lower cost of ownership from Kinze’s 05 Series row unit upgrades.

New row cleaners

Also new for 2023, Kinze will offer Yetter 2940 Air Adjust Series row cleaners on its 4905 and 4705 Blue Drive planters. They are factory-installed and fully controlled with the easy-to-use Blue Vantage display. Using the dedicated row cleaner display screen, farmers can easily change row air settings and operating depth for optimum residue control from the tractor cab.

The parallel linkage equipped row cleaner and colter and row cleaner combo are both equipped with up and down airbags to precisely follow ground contours and clear a path for an ideal seedbed. They are standard equipped with a hydraulically driven pneumatic compressor and SharkTooth row cleaner wheels.

Kinze Manufacturing is expanding and enhancing its family of dual auger grain carts for the 2022 harvest season and giving its entire grain cart lineup a sleek, new makeover. The enhancements and a new grain cart model are being unveiled at the 2021 Farm Progress Show (Exhibit #904) from Aug. 31 through Sept. 2 in Decatur, Illinois.

New for next season will be the dual auger Harvest Commander 1121 model that can hold 1,100 bushels, the most desired capacity size among farmers. Key features include optional long-life Camso tracks, an on-demand horizontal auger drive, and a dump door cleanout for easy and quick crop changeover. It also incorporates directional tip control and a low profile with short sides for operating on rolling terrain.

The new cart is actually a throwback to Kinze’s legendary 1050 model, discontinued in 2012, that offered 1,000 bushels of capacity and was highly popular because of its sturdy design, ease of use, and dependability.

“1121 is a high-value, optimally sized grain cart that delivers efficient grain handling with low cost of ownership. Its durable construction, minimum driveline complexity providing operator convenience and low-maintenance track system are designed to provide farmers with a smooth and uninterrupted harvest,”

said Susanne Veatch, Kinze president.

The 1121 model’s new features, including improved cleanout, auger spout grain control, and upgraded lighting, have also been incorporated into Kinze’s existing lineup of dual auger carts. Those have been given new model numbers — 1321, 1421, 1521, and 1721 — which, along with 1121, reflect Kinze’s new product numbering system. The first two digits represent hundreds of bushels, the third digit indicates single or dual auger, and the final number is the model generation.

Justin Render, the Kinze product specialist, said the 1121 model addresses many of the grain cart challenges now facing the industry. Cart operation can be complex and confusing, track systems are costly to maintain and hard to adjust, and there is no cost-effective, durable dual auger solution currently available.

“The 1121 modes offer a clean and very efficient design. It’s a simple-to-operate grain cart that goes out and gets the job done year after year,”

Render said.

Beginning in 2022, all Kinze single and dual auger carts will carry the Harvest Commander name, as did the former 1050 model. They will also feature a new look, maintaining the classic Kinze blue color but with enhanced graphics, repositioning the Kinze name, and adding to the back of the carts the iconic Kinze Man character that was introduced in the company’s early years.

A 50-Year Milestone

The timing for the new look and upgrades coincides with this year’s 50th anniversary of Kinze’s first grain cart. Company founder Jon Kinzenbaw pioneered the grain cart concept in 1971. His 400 Grain Cart was the first major innovation of the then startup company, allowing farmers to transfer huge volumes of grain from their loaded combines to standing trucks, which was a major timesaver during the harvest rush.

This unique low-profile design was the first ever to use giant high-flotation tires on a single axle for greater stability and mobility. And it was the first to use large-diameter PTO-powered dual augers, which could empty the 435-bushel capacity load in less time: three minutes. This allowed the tractor operator to easily navigate between the combine and grain truck without interrupting or slowing down the combined operation.

Responding to strong farmer demand and proven performance, Kinze will expand its True Speed high-speed planting technology to five more planter configurations for the 2022 season. The company is also introducing several new features to enhance its innovative Blue Vantage planter display.

Kinze’s 4905 True Speed planter will debut this spring in 16- and 24-row models, providing corn and soybean farmers with seed placement at speeds from 3 to 12 miles per hour. The high-speed technology, developed by Kinze, enables farmers to double the acres planted in a typical day while maintaining precise singulation and seed spacing. It accommodates various seed shapes and sizes with a quick seed type changeover.

The 2022 expanded True Speed lineup will include:

A 4905 12R30 configuration, well-suited for smaller operations or as a second planter for smaller fields. All three 4905 planters will also offer increased fertilizer capacity for 2022.

31/32R15 split-row and 16R30 configurations of the Kinze 3665, a 15-inch soybean planter for high-residue conditions with the versatility to also plant crops in 30-inch rows.

24R30 and 36R20 configurations of the 4705 high-flotation planters for narrow width crops, while also carrying large amounts of seed and fertilizer.

In addition, new seed discs will be offered with the 2022 True Speed models for planting cotton, sugar beets, and milo. All Kinze planters for 2022, including the True Speed models, will also include upgrades being introduced this season that provide improved durability, longer wear life, and lower cost of ownership.

“Farmers who had the opportunity to preview or test our high-speed technology this season were highly impressed with its ability to maximize performance in a single pass. With an improving farm economy, many farmers are now ready to make investments

said Kinze president, Susanne Veatch.

to improve their productivity. Having sold out of our high-speed planter lineup for this season, we are excited to expand our True Speed offerings to make the benefits available to more farmers in 2022.”

Kinze will also offer farmers the opportunity to sign up for an online presentation to hear firsthand from company representatives about the True Speed planters and their many features.

Blue Vantage Enhancements

Kinze is also adding exciting new features next season to its Blue Vantage display that provides simple, accurate, and intuitive planter control for high-productivity planting.

Enhancements to the display, which is available with True Speed and the company’s other high-tech planters, will include:

Shared coverage mapping: enabling two planters to be in the same field and work together to share coverage data.

Up to four cameras on the display: one camera will be factory-installed for rear viewing when transporting the planter. Kinze customers can order up to three more cameras to install wherever they choose.

Adding the Blue Vantage display to the 3505 8-row bulk fill planter model.

Veatch said:

“We’ve had great feedback from our customers about Blue Vantage, which is the industry’s easiest to use, dedicated planter display. We’re pleased to offer these upgrades for 2022 to enhance the user experience and overall planting performance.”

Surefire Ag Systems and Kinze Manufacturing have reached an agreement that will allow SureFire to install its industry-leading liquid fertilizer planter solutions on Kinze planters before they leave the factory.

Beginning with the 2021 planting season, SureFire will execute transactions directly with Kinze dealers and professionally install its systems in space rented within Kinze’s manufacturing facility in Williamsburg, Iowa.

Susanne Veatch, Kinze president, said the new arrangement will make Kinze the liquid fertilizer leader in the planting industry:

“SureFire fertilizer systems are custom-designed to meet farmer application needs and are complete with everything they need to start planting faster and more easily than ever before. This agreement will allow Kinze dealers to have a SureFire product expert assist in configuring liquid fertilizer systems to meet any customer need in the best way.”

SureFire custom fertilizer systems meet many customer application needs, including multiple product applications, high-speed planting, row monitoring, and application rates from under 1 GPA to over 50 GPA.

Kinze will continue to offer its own factory-installed systems but with the ever-changing custom fertilizer application methods, Veatch noted it is not possible for the company to offer all solutions farmers need.

“SureFire is the liquid fertilizer industry expert, so this agreement allows them to keep developing leading-edge solutions to meet changing demand.”

SureFire systems are compatible with nearly all major OEM rate control platforms and offer additional features via SureFire’s Sentinel platform. SureFire’s expertise incompatibility makes integration a seamless process. Kinze’s planter warranty and SureFire’s fertilizer system warranty will remain separate under the arrangement.

President of Kinze Manufacturing, Susanne Veatch, said:

“In this continued down ag economy, we know every penny counts toward the bottom line. Downtime is costly. Repairs are costly. Maintenance is costly. We regularly receive suggestions from our customers and dealers about how we can improve our products in these areas. We listened and have spent a significant amount of time engineering ways to reduce downtime and repairs and increase performance. I am proud of our team’s commitment to this project and I am excited to see these planter enhancements help our customers reach their profitability goals.”

Beginning with 2021 models, enhanced planters will be designated by a model number ending in “05.” Changes include:

Row unit double parallel arm bushing with impregnated lubrication and double row bearing disc openers for extended wear life

High-efficiency vacuum fans that run quieter with less hydraulic demand, utilizing 1.5” diameter vacuum hoses

Redesigned bulk-fill seed delivery system that works with more crop types and at higher planting rates

Firestone IVF radial tires on planter model 4905 for reduced compaction

Large frame planter models 4905 and 4705 feature a variable displacement piston PTO pump, which provides a simpler planter operation and higher efficiency to reduce tractor HP demands

Simplified hydraulics on the model 4905 planter improves serviceability and decreases planter lift times

Along with the 05 Series planters, Kinze is introducing a 24R30 configuration of the 4705 planter. This configuration features tires in front of the toolbar in a front fold configuration with industry leading 600 gallons of liquid fertilizer capacity. The 4705 is offered with Blue Drive electric drive and True Rate meters for Model Year 21. Kinze previously announced that its new 4700 narrow row planter series will debut in the 2020 planting season in a 36-row 20-inch configuration.

In addition to all the new and enhanced planter models, Kinze is introducing three new configurations of Mach Till that feature a narrow transport design to allow farmers to easily transport the units from field to field. Offered in 30’, 36’ and 41’ sizes in a three section frame, the units will fold for transport down to 13’2” and 16’ for the 41’ unit. The unit model numbers are 302, 362 and 412 with the number 2 representing the second generation of the Kinze Mach Till. These three models will feature maintenance free bushing design like the current 201 and 262 bi-fold Mach Till. This offers the customer a very low maintenance unit that is easy to operate and maintain. Introduction of the narrow transport Mach Till will be spring 2020.

To see some of these new products in person, visit Kinze’s booth at the National Farm Machinery Show February 12-15 in Louisville, Kentucky. On display will be a Blue Drive-equipped Kinze 4905 24R30 with our new True Speed high-speed planting system. Unlike our competitors’ products, True Speed was designed from its inception to operate accurately at 3mph, 12 mph and all speeds in between. With True Speed you can plant at your speed with confidence that you are not sacrificing singulation or spacing accuracy.
