Now, the new 2150S Early Riser front-fold trailing planter provides the additional agronomic benefits of split-row planting with greater fertilizer and seed capacity.

Greater fertilizer and seed capacity

The 2150S Early Riser front-fold trailing planter features an optional 525-gallon liquid tank to provide operators maximum run times between fills. The liquid fertilizer system delivers accurate application rates at a broad range of speeds with multiple factory-installed application options, including frame-mounted colters and in-furrow options. Plus, with 100 bushels of seed capacity (two 50-bushel tanks) and optional individual tank scales, operators can better plan for tendering with the ability to optimize partial seed fill.

Multiple configurations and narrow row planting increase ROI

Studies continue to show the ROI opportunities of narrow row planting, which include increased yield benefits and faster crop canopies for weed control — all while minimizing soil erosion. The 2150S Early Riser front-fold trailing planter lets operators take advantage of these benefits with a range of configurations, including 23, 24, 31, or 32 rows with 15-inch spacing, or 24 rows with 20-inch spacing.

In-cab hydraulic row-unit lift control allows operators to easily convert from 15- to 30-inch spacing with no manual lifting or tools required. When planting in a split-row configuration, an industry-leading row-unit offset of nearly 50 inches helps increase residue flow while minimizing plugging opportunities.

Exceptional ground-following capabilities are made possible by a wing flex of +/- 15 degrees combined with +/- 8 inches of row-unit travel. This ensures the row units remain in contact with soil, even in rugged terrain. Optional hydraulic wing downforce ensures proper seed depth control on the wings, while the agronomically designed Early Riser row unit provides excellent seed placement across the entire planter.

Front-fold design for simple transportation

With a front-fold frame design, the 2150S Early Riser planter delivers a narrow transport width of 13 feet — and a simple on-screen, step-by-step folding-and-unfolding system provides a smooth and quick transition from transport to field operation. Operators also gain in-cab hydraulic control of all rear subframe row units, including the center main frame row units.

The new 304 and 305 CR models are the final machines to be reengineered to the Cat next-generation mini hydraulic excavator line concept. From the 1.5- to 10-tonne class models, all 17 – 20 Cat mini hydraulic excavators in the range (depending on region) offer common features and consistent controls layout to simplify training and operator adaptation.

New 304 increases stability

Built with a new reduced radius design, the 304 features a narrow, 1700-mm (66.9-in) track width, 254 mm (10 in) slimmer than the 304 E2, for more versatility and access to confined spaces. While narrower, the new 304 design increases the performance, balance, and stability of the 4-tonne class model. Its reduced radius allows for greater stability, both 360-degree and when traveling with loads, while its extra counterweight option takes the model to an even higher level of stability.

Compact performance of the 305 CR

The new engine on the 5-tonne class Cat 305 CR Excavator delivers nearly 9% greater power to increase machine performance. Hydraulic system improvements provide higher breakout forces – 49.2 kN (11,061 lbf) bucket, 28.3 kN (6,362 lbf) standard stick and 25.2 kN (5,665 lbf) long stick – to improve digging efficiency in hard rock applications. It also offers 140 mm (5.6 in) deeper dig depths than the 305 E2, giving it more application flexibility. Its compact radius swing reduces overhang when working to the side, while its 1980-mm (78-in) track width and new extra counterweight option help to optimize stability and lift performance in confined spaces.

Advanced Efficiency

Both excavator models now offer an angle dozer blade option to optimize machine flexibility in backfilling and finish grading applications. In addition to offering ample above- and below-grade travel with standard float function for easy clean-up, the angle blade moves 45 degrees left or right of center. Increasing efficiencies and reducing operator interaction with final grading, angle blade movement is controlled by the right-hand joystick, while the left joystick handles machine drive.

Tailoring machine weight to job requirements, interchangeable counterweight packages offer the balance between low ground pressure and lifting performance. Their industry-exclusive Cat Stick Steer System simplifies machine control by allowing the operator to switch from conventional lever/foot-pedal steering controls to low-effort joystick operation. Two travel speed ranges and standard cruise control facilitate moving around the job site with minimum operator interaction.

Meeting U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final and EU Stage V emission standards, the turbocharged Cat C1.7 Turbo engine delivers higher power than the previous C2.4 engine. Standard auto-idle, auto engine shutdown, and efficient load-sensing hydraulics with variable displacement pumps help to lower fuel usage at the site for more affordable operation. High main-relief pressures, coupled with flow rates, generate the hydraulic capacity for high digging and lifting forces and more efficient use of a range of attachments. Complete with quick-disconnect lines, the standard auxiliary system provides the choice of one-way, two-way, or continuous flow.

Next-generation comfort, savings

Common to most Cat next-generation mini hydraulic excavators, the sealed and pressurized cab enclosure is available with heating and/or air conditioning for all-weather climate control. The cab’s large glass areas plus skylight afford all-around visibility. The large display with an advanced touchscreen option provides intuitive machine function control and easy monitoring of critical operating parameters. A canopy option is available in some regions.

Daily maintenance checks for the 304 and 305 CR are quickly made from ground level through side doors. Expanded use of common parts throughout the line plus their damage-resistant exterior construction help to reduce parts inventory investment and lower repair costs. Increased service intervals mean these excavators spend more time on the job and less time in the shop.

2022 models feature the improved TA22 transmission by Cat. This powershift transmission has less restrictive torque protection in lower gears, a more consistent inching pedal, and increased torque ratings. The clutch capacity has also increased which results in 3% more torque in 3rd gear, 5% more torque in 4th gear, and 10% more torque in 5th gear.

An advanced hydraulic configuration with center located connections, six hydraulic couplers, one ¾ coupler, and a case drain will be included on all new units. Optional features include Power Beyond, two additional ¾ couplers, dual case drains, and a high-flow hydraulic system. This flexible and robust setup puts farmers in control of implement options, specifically enhancing the performance of air drills on Versatile tractors.

All DeltaTrack and four-wheel drive and models include multiple cab improvements. The tractors feature a more comfortable seat, audio system enhancements, and an available 12” monitor. Additional options include dual rotary beacons, cell phone holders, and toolboxes. New LED lighting packages feature almost three times more lumens on the Deluxe Package (than the standard), and more than four times the lumens on the Deluxe Plus Package, which includes 21 lights producing more than 45,000 lumens total. Breakers are a flexible and crucial attachment used for a wide variety of jobs, including tunneling, trenching, foundation removal, dredging, bridge demolition, quarry excavation, mining, and more. To meet growing demand in North America, Komatsu is expanding its product line of hydraulic breakers. Designed and tested for compatibility with Komatsu excavators from the PC78 up to the PC490, the high-percussion efficiency and unique variable energy technology of these breakers are built to provide high production in multiple applications.

To protect the breaker, carrier, and operator, Komatsu has several built-in several features and benefits. JTHB-G line of breakers

The simple design of the JTHB-G hydraulic breakers translates to reduced maintenance and fewer parts to buy, which helps lower equipment-running costs. A one-year warranty comes with all G-series breakers and also applies to breakers used for mining and quarry applications.

JMHB-H line of breakers

Compact yet powerful, the JMHB-H attachments are accumulator-type hydraulic breakers for a variety of rock and concrete demolition applications. Unlike gas-fired breakers, the JMHB-H series does not require a nitrogen recharge. Rather, they come equipped with blank firing protection to help prevent piston movement via a hydraulic brake.

For consistent impact power in a variety of environments, sound dampening housings help assure compliance with noise ordinances, even in urban applications. The breaker protects itself with a patented pressure regulator valve to prevent overflow, and its dampening system helps prevent damage to excavator booms and housing cracks.

To enable the use of more powerful breakers on smaller excavators, a single power cell eliminates heavy tie rods to provide a better weight-to-power ratio on compact models, while the mounted automatic lubrication feature helps protect against dust and debris. Sustainable development in agriculture is one of the key factors for the future of our planet. Therefore, the continuous technological evolution of agricultural machinery towards more efficient and environmentally friendly solutions is essential.

Hydraulic systems for the operation of agricultural machinery are playing a very important role in this development process. In fact, digitization enables solutions that provide great opportunities for energy efficiency facilitating compliance with the stringent regulations regarding internal combustion engines and providing greater autonomy for the new hybrid and electric-drive technologies.

A typical cause of the loss of efficiency of a hydraulic system is the stand-by pressure differential. The hydraulic pump, in order to ensure the control of movements, generates a pressure constantly higher than the actual required one. It is defined as stand by Margin and constitutes an energy dissipation.

This is the context in which the solution designed by the synergy between Walvoil, one of the main manufacturers of integrated products, electronics, and complete mechatronic systems, and Dieci, an important player in the field of telehandlers, was born and developed.

The ALS Adaptive Load Sensing system minimizes the dispersion of energy in the hydraulic system of telehandlers, considerably improving the efficiency of the vehicle and consequently obtaining a reduction in wear and consumption.

ALS is made of a directional control valve, an electronic joystick, and an electronic control unit, with customizable modular software developed by Walvoil. The control unit collects information from the operations on the controls and from the machine sensors, and acts on the Load Sensing device, adapting the hydraulic pressure differential to the maximum efficiency value required by the vehicle.

The heart of Adaptive Load Sensing is represented by an electro-hydraulic device fitted to the directional control valve, which allows to dynamically modulate the Stand-by Margin, in order to minimize energy consumption according to the real working needs of the machine, automatically varying it only when and how required.

The differential pressure value can be selected also by means of two push buttons on the joystick, the “Precision Function”, which increases the movement controllability and precision, and the “Boost Function”, which increases the pressure value for a higher movement speed without the need to install pumps with higher flow rates.

In partnership with Dieci, the ALS system has been successfully tested on an AGRIPLUS telehandler, one of the top machines in the Dieci range for agriculture.

During the tests, the Walvoil-Dieci Technical Team found on the Agri Plus a drop in energy dispersion values equal to 28% during boom operations, and up to 45% during traveling phases, with a significant improvement in the overall machine performance at various speeds.

We could say that the use of the ALS system on each machine is equivalent to a reduction of 2,899 lb (1315 kg) of CO2/year, equal to the planting of 50-60 trees/year.

The tests highlighted also further important advantages, first of all in terms of safety: by acting directly on the hydraulic signal, the ALS avoids the functional complexity associated with the digital signal.

Furthermore, in case of failures, the original operation is automatically restored, avoiding machine downtime. Then in terms of stability: the control of the pressure value allows improving the machine stability, with a consequent more comfortable use.

And finally, in terms of modernization (Retrofit): the few elements of the ALS kit can be easily installed even on older telehandlers, extending their operational life and improving their performance.

The development of the ALS system takes advantage of the collaboration of TASC, “Smart and Clean Agricultural Tractors Project”, a project including the participation of the main university research laboratories of the Emilia Romagna Region – Italy, created with the aim of minimizing the environmental impact of agricultural mechanization.

The ALS system has won both the prestigious Eima International “Technical Innovation 2020-21” Award, dedicated to machines and devices with features of “absolute innovation”, and also the “Blu Award 2020-21”, attributed to the solutions that are outstanding for environmental aspects.

The updated 9 Series lineup includes wheel 9R, two-track 9RT, and four-track 9RX Tractors that enable farmers to cover more acres in less time with greater accuracy and quality, and reduce their operating costs – all while enjoying a larger, more comfortable cab. John Deere is the only manufacturer to offer all three tractor configurations.

“Farmers will appreciate the added low-end torque and lugging ability of the all-new, John Deere PowerTech 13.6 L diesel engine. This engine powers models with 390 to 590 horsepower and runs with 50% less engine noise. It’s also easier to perform routine maintenance on. Our largest tractors, the 9R 640 and 9RX 640, are powered by a Cummins 15 L diesel engine.”

To accommodate the added horsepower and ballast of the articulated 9 Series Tractors, several undercarriage, axle, and front-frame components were strengthened and improved. Strengthening these components has increased the weight of the tractor and the maximum available ballast from 60,000 to 67,000 pounds to put the increased power to the ground. The font-weight support and weights are now factory-installed for the 9RX. Rear-axle load ratings on John Deere Scraper Special 9R and 9RX Tractors were increased to 26,500 pounds.

Select 9 Series Tractors can be ordered with hydraulic Intelligent Power Management (IPM) that provides up to 50 extra horsepower depending on the gear chosen. This added power can be unlocked via intelligent software monitoring of hydraulic demand and engine power.

“It’s the perfect performance boost when pulling equipment through tough terrain or over large hills, or with high hydraulic demands, such as air-seeding rigs. Hydraulic IPM is available on the 9RT 570, and 9R/9RX 590 and 640 Tractors,”

Jardon said.

All 9 Series Tractors come equipped from the factory with JDLink connectivity, plus an integrated StarFire 6000 GPS receiver, Generation 4 CommandCenter display, and AutoTrac guidance. These technologies enable the operator to reduce overlap and maximize inputs all with less stress. JDLink comes with five years of service, making it easy for customers to take advantage of the benefits of a connected machine, which includes machine-to-machine communication; streaming machine, field, and crop information to the John Deere Operations Center; Wireless Data Transfer; and John Deere Connected Support. These integrated technologies help farmers save time and reduce costs.

“The factory-installed Automation 4.0 capabilities drive season-long benefits. For example, AutoTrac Turn Automation and MachineSync enable consistent operations on headlands and when multiple machines work together, such as in seeding when two tractors are working in a field together. All 9 Series Tractors offer industry-leading operator comfort, and visibility with a choice of Select, Premium, or Ultimate cab packages to choose from.

The Ultimate comfort and convenience package includes footrests, a refrigerator, and a heated ventilated massaging seat that swivels up to 25 degrees to the left and 40 degrees to the right, for improved operator visibility and comfort.

Four models of John Deere 9RX four-track tractors are available ranging from 490 to 640 horsepower, the industry’s highest horsepower levels offered in a four-track tractor. Multiple track widths and tread spacings are available, enabling these tractors to be used in row-crop and broad-acre applications where more traction and flotation are desired. Four-post cab suspension is standard and dampens pitch and roll, isolating the cab from shocks, while providing maximum comfort and ride quality in the field or on the road. Four-track 9RX Tractors offer the comfort and maneuverability of a wheel tractor with the pulling performance and flotation of a track tractor.

The Pro 5 Series pumps include advanced features to improve reliability and prevent costly downtime. The new models are updated versions of the popular Ace FMC-HYD Series and FMC-150-HYD Series pumps.

Plus a stationary face with an O-ring seat that transfers heat into the casting to improve seal survival during short run-dry events. According to Randle, the new models feature all the advantages of the standard Ace HYD Series pumps, including:

• A compact design with a close-coupled motor for easy service and replacement
• High-efficiency gear type motors that provide higher performance with less oil flow

In addition, the new Pro 5 Series pumps offer these added benefits compared to the standard models:
