Kubota Canada today announced two new additions to its legacy Standard L series compact tractor line with the addition of the L3302 and L3902. From its humble beginnings more than 55 years ago, the L Series has been enhanced and refined over generations, building on its reputation for affordability, durability and versatility to become the number one selling compact tractor in North America for over a decade. The addition of these two new L02 models continues to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit and “do-it-yourself” lifestyle of Canadians.

“The upgrades on our new L02 compact tractors were strategic and universal to introducing the next generation of our popular Standard L Series line,”
“With the new L3302 and L3902, we added enhanced operator comfort features and modern styling, as well as key operational features – such as the new independent PTO on the HST models – while keeping affordability top of mind.”

said Chris Isaac, Product Manager, Compact Tractors.

Powerful Performance
Kubota has built a reputation in its class due to the L Series tractor’s power and performance backed by a Kubota
diesel engine. The L02 Series offers two horsepower options, with 33 and 37.5 gross horsepower on the L3302 and L3902, respectively. Equipped with a Common-Rail System (CRS) with electronic controlled fuel injection and designed to reduce noise and vibration for a smooth operator experience, Kubota’s fuel-efficient diesel engines are designed to maximize performance.

Smooth and Easy Operations with Independent PTO Option
Both new L02 four-wheel drive models are available with either gear drive or HST transmissions. The HST provides speed and forward/revers control that can be operated simply by pressing down on the pedal. The gear drive transmission provides the power and versatility with eight forward and eight reverse speeds to get the job done. Plus, new to the L02 this year is an independent PTO on the HST models, allowing for quick engagement of the PTO with an easy flip of a switch while operating the tractor.

Modern Styling and Comfort Abound
The new L02 Series sets itself apart from its predecessor models with a more spacious operator station, standard
rubber floor mats and improved suspension seat with optional arm rests. The ergonomically designer lever grips and steering wheel provide easier access and smooth operation, while the new LED lights and side work lights deliver great visibility in tough conditions. Pulled together with an sleek curve to the bonnet and grill to keep the engine and tractor protected from the elements, the L3302 and L3902 look, feel and operate as a premium compact tractor.

Performance-Matched Front Loader
Designed specifically for the L3302 and L3902, the LA526 front loader is deeper and has a maximum lift capacity of 1,144 pounds at the pin and a maximum lift height of 94 inches at the pin. The loader valve is designed for simultaneous boom and bucket operation and a regenerative circuit, increasing seed and dump times to maximize productivity. Easily removed without tools or purchasing additional “parking” kits, the LA526 is also more versatile and easy to use.

The L3302 and L3902 will be available nationwide early spring 2022. For more information, or to find an authorized Kubota dealer near you.

“Kubota has an unwavering commitment to the compact construction market,”
“With the new K008-5 and the U10-5, we now have a broad offering of 13 compact excavator models across the 1-to-8-ton weight class and feature more flexibility among the conventional and zero tail swing lines. And, while we took our time to engineer the SCL1000, this inaugural product now allows us to compete and fill requests in the stand-on track loader marketplace.”

said Jonathan Gardner, Kubota construction equipment product manager.

SCL1000: Compact Unique Design, Packed with Power, Performance, Comfort and Convenience

The new SCL1000 features a wide 9.8-inch track that comes standard on the overall narrow 36-inch machine. The integrated track design is engineered for durability with the undercarriage welded to the mainframe of the body. The grease track tension design includes seal oiled bath rollers for less maintenance and greater durability. Its wide track design, with a rating of 4.0 psi, is low impact, minimizing damage to grass and landscaping.

While compact, the SCL1000 boasts a powerful 24.8 horsepower turbocharged Kubota diesel engine with quiet operation, high altitude performance and no diesel particulate filter requirement. A hydraulic pump directly connected to the engine reduces maintenance. The loader arms reach high and far with a hinge pin height of 84.7 inches and a reach of 25.9 inches at a 45-degree dump angle. It also boasts a best-in-class travel speed of 7.9 Km per hour.

Kubota’s SCL1000 is engineered with cushioned loader boom cylinders and an adjustable platform suspension system that increase operator comfort for maximum productivity. The loader comes standard with a keyless start with passcode protection, 12-volt charging port and a 4.3 inch LCD colour dash monitor that provides easy-to-read machine monitoring.

K008-5 and U10-5: Lean, Mean Digging Machines, that are Refined but never Confined

Aligned with the rest of Kubota’s excavator lineup, the K008-5 and U10-5 offer easy, single-level maneuverability with hydraulic adjustable track widths that quickly contract to fit through tight spaces – thin doorways, fence gates, and even inside buildings, hallways and elevators. On the K008-5, the tracks adjust down to 2 ft. 4 in. and the U10-5 contracts to 2 ft. 6 in., then, when increased stability is needed, widen out to 2 ft. 10 in. and 3 ft. 3 in., respectively.

“The U10-5 is Kubota’s answer to the rental or professional customer,”
“No matter how far you turn, the tail on the U10-5 remains within the width of the tracks to ensure excellent balance, stability and fast operation. It truly is the ideal model for working in the tightest, most compact spaces.”

Gardner added.

Both new compact excavators feature a surprisingly wide working and digging range for their compact frames. The K008-5 has a working range that includes a digging depth of 5 ft. 8 in. and a bucket breakout force of 2,205 lbs. The U-10-5 extends to a 5 ft. 11 in. digging depth with a bucket breakout force of 2,337 lbs. What’s more, the U10-5’s hydraulic control system offers smooth operation and increased digging productivity, alongside the same side lever joystick operational controls found on other larger Kubota excavator offerings, with consistent joystick digging controls. Both models offer clean, hose-free boom lines because the hydraulic hoses are uniquely hidden and protected inside the boom leading to less excavator downtime.

Two New Models–the L3302 and L3902–Add Comfort, Styling, and an Independent PTO

Kubota Tractor Corporation announced two new models to its legacy Standard L Series compact tractor line with the addition of the L3302 and the L3902. Kubota’s L Series was the first tractor that enabled Kubota to put down roots in the U.S., helping to power and empower the American dream for the past 50 years. Kubota celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit and the ‘do-it-yourself’ lifestyle that the L Series compact tractor has helped Americans build, shape, and grow. The addition of the two new L02 models build on the L Series’ multi-generational reputation for durability, affordability, and versatility that has made it the number one selling compact tractor in the U.S. for decades.

The new L02 models boast enhanced operator comfort features, modern styling, and most notably an independent PTO that is now available on the HST models. Both the L3302 and the L3902 were unveiled at the 2022 National Farm Machinery Show and will be available at authorized Kubota dealerships early this spring.

“The upgrades on our new L02 compact tractors were strategic and universal to the line – we added comfort and styling features while keeping affordability top-of-mind. With the new L3302 and L3902, we are officially introducing the next generation of our popular Standard L Series line. I’m most excited to offer new comfort features as well as enhanced key operational features – such as the new independent PTO on the HST models,”

said Beau Woodbury, Kubota compact tractor product manager.

Kubota has built a reputation in its class due to the L Series tractor’s power and performance backed by a Kubota diesel engine. The L02 Series offers two horsepower options, with 33 and 37.5 gross horsepower on the L3302 and L3902, respectively. Kubota’s L02 Series tractors are equipped with a Common-Rail System (CRS) with electronically controlled fuel injection and are designed to reduce noise and vibration for a smooth operator experience. Kubota diesel engines are designed to not only maximize performance but also to keep you operating thanks to a large fuel tank and fuel-efficient engine.

Modern Styling and Comfort Abound

The new L02 Series sets itself apart from its predecessor models with a more spacious operator station, standard rubber floor mats, and an improved suspension seat with optional armrests. The modern styling stands out with a sleek curve to the bonnet and standard LED headlights and side work lights – the L3302 and L3902 look, feel, and operate as a premium compact tractor.

Smooth and Easy Operation with Independent PTO Option

Both Kubota’s new L02 four-wheel-drive models are available with either gear drive or HST transmissions. The HST provides speed and forward/reverse control that can be operated simply by pressing down on the pedal. The gear drive transmission provides the power and versatility with eight forward and eight reverse speeds to get the job done. Plus, new to the L02 this year is an independent PTO on the HST models, allowing for a quick engagement of the PTO by the easy flip of a switch while operating the tractor.

Performance-Matched LA526 Front Loader

Designed specifically for the L3302 and L3902, the performance-matched front loader is deeper and has a maximum lift capacity of 1,144 pounds at the pin and a maximum lift height of 94 inches at the pin. The loader valve is designed for simultaneous boom and bucket operation and a regenerative circuit, increasing speed and dump times and maximizing productivity. The LA526 front loader can quickly and easily be removed from the tractor without tools or the need for buying additional “parking” kits, making it more versatile and easier to use.

In Europe, Specialty Crops market is a thriving business field which Kubota regards as an important market for its tractor business, which sells narrow-width tractors that are suitable for working in Specialty Crops.

Pulverizadores Fede, which operates mainly in Spain and Portugal, is a dedicated manufacturer of crop care implements called “sprayers” that are used for pest and diseases control in Specialty Crops market. Its strength is in proprietary high-end technologies which are already in practical use, including a smart & connected sprayer that controls chemical volume and airflow in real time while using a sensor to measure the heights of trees to be sprayed precisely, and a system that manages information on a map, such as the area to be sprayed and the amounts of chemicals.

In Specialty Crops market, mechanization and precision are not as advanced as in the field of upland farming for grains and other crops, so expectations are particularly high for use of smart agricultural technologies in pest control operations, where tightened environmental regulations call for reduced chemical usage.

By bringing Pulverizadores Fede on board as a subsidiary, the Kubota Group will expand its line-up of implements for Specialty Crops market and strengthen compatibility between tractors and implements, thereby contributing to reduction of the environmental impact and fuel consumption through efficient spraying that uses less chemicals and water.

Pulverizadores Fede will keep its brand name, the location of its headquarters and the management will remain as it is currently. KHE and Pulverizadores Fede staff will work closely by utilizing current organization of both groups in order to accomplish their development and business goals.

Going forward, Kubota Group will accelerate expansion of our business in the Specialty Crops market with a view to collaborating with start-ups in which our group is involved.

AFT is a U.S.-based startup seeking to raise efficiency in the agriculture field by developing and manufacturing robots for strawberry harvesting. Their TX robotic strawberry harvester combines an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) together with image sensors and artificial intelligence (AI). Those image recognition technology instantly distinguishes ripe and ready strawberries and the grippers at the end of the robot arms gently pick each one. In addition, these automation technologies allow to significantly reduce conventional manned fruit and vegetable processes and maximize operational efficiency.

With this investment, Kubota and Yamaha Motor will utilize the technologies of both companies to accelerate technological development and business expansion aimed at implementing automated farming solutions which are promoted by AFT for ground crops and tree crops.

This collaborated initiative was realized from the process of open innovation support promoted by each company’s “new division”. Kubota established “Innovation Center” in 2019, as a division to promote open innovation through partnerships with external organizations. Those activities allow Kubota to deepen its knowledge of advanced agritech and its business models, thus accelerating the development of its solution business. The Yamaha Motor Group is also using its group company Yamaha Motor Ventures & Laboratory Silicon Valley (YMVSV) established in 2015 to gain a foothold in CVC activities through this investment.

Working together with external partners, both companies will advance open innovation for proactive engagement with advanced technologies in the broad agricultural field and will work for the purpose of accelerating the creation of new businesses, products, and services to address various global social issues.

Tavant announced the implementation of the AI-powered Tavant Manufacturing Analytics Platform (TMAP) at Kubota Tractor Corporation. The platform powers the Kubota Quality System (K-QA) to track equipment field defects.

The new K-QA system predicts QA codes using AI, ensuring better data quality and greater accuracy in identifying the issues so that they can be resolved faster. The systems are now delivering an accuracy of over 93%.

TMAP uses advanced artificial intelligence to generate actionable insights and exposes them with APIs for direct consumption in other systems. TMAP enables manufacturers to achieve cost leadership by improving their aftermarket operational efficiency and increasing revenue by leveraging the latest innovations in data analytics. TMAP KPIs leverage machine learning algorithms to adapt to environmental and process changes. In addition, this solution leverages Tavant’s comprehensive MLOps methodology for the end-to-end automation of the machine learning pipeline.

“We are delighted to expand our partnership with Tavant, reflecting our confidence in the company’s strong artificial intelligence capabilities. K-QA now brings a whole new level of accuracy and allows Kubota to find and fix issues faster than ever. The solution also provides warranty analysts and QA engineers insights and powerful tools to look inside the data for emerging trends, root cause analysis, and validation of countermeasures. Overall, the solution is a monumental achievement and provides a lot of value to Kubota, its dealers, and customers,”

said Cristoph Nathan, Senior Director, Kubota.

“AI-Powered TMAP helps manufacturers unleash the latent information in their data and deliver actionable business insights and predictions. The expansion of our collaboration with an industry leader such as Kubota is a testament to our unwavering commitment, data-driven mindset, and digital capabilities,”

said Atul Varshneya, VP of Artificial Intelligence, Tavant.

Hay Tools Heritage of Innovation and Quality

Kubota’s hay tools are built on a long legacy of ground-breaking agriculture innovation that has been tested and proven in the hay and forage market for more than 100 years. Early inventions by Vicon and Kverneland in the 1900s, from the finger wheel rake in 1949 to the first rotary tedder in 1961 and the first disc mower conditioner combination in 1974 – are now all under the Kubota brand, designed, engineered, and built by Kubota.

KCL completed the acquisition of the Kverneland Group in 2013, which helped make the first phase of Kubota’s entry in hay implements possible. In 2015, Kubota introduced round balers and disc mower conditioners, as well as expanded offerings in the disc mower, rake, and tedder lines. In 2016 and 2017, the company launched additional disc mowers, disc mower conditioners, rakes, and variances to its round baler line.

Growing with Farmers into the Future

Not only has Kubota grown its product lines, but the company is also growing its presence, too. In recent years, Kubota has been on an aggressive North American growth strategy to strengthen its position in the agricultural marketplace and respond to increased demand for its products. For example, in late September, Kubota Manufacturing of America broke ground on a new Research & Development center in Gainesville, Georgia. In August, the company announced an expansion underway at Great Plains Manufacturing in Kansas to increase production capacity for Kubota equipment.

Last year, the company opened its dedicated North American Distribution Centre, also in Kansas and KCL is also building a new distribution facility and corporate headquarters in Pickering, Ontario. Along with expanding the company’s facilities and parts distribution centers, Kubota is also growing its team of product experts to better respond to customers’ needs. Kubota offers a wide range of hay tools from disc mowers, disc mower conditioners, tedders, and rakes, to balers and wrappers – all supported by authorized Kubota dealers across Canada.
