Kuhn introduces the Kuhn MM 701, 1101, and 1301 Merge Maxx hay mergers. These mergers have been designed to fit the needs of medium to large dairy and commercial hay operations. These machines offer pickup widths of 24′, 36′, and 42′ and complement the 30′ pickup of the existing MM 890 in our commercial merger lineup. MM 01 Series hay mergers are unique in the industry and unmatched in their simplicity of operation, durability, and merging capabilities.

The MM 01 Series builds upon the previous generation of Kuhn mergers starting with the pickup. High-capacity pickups with integrated frames treat crops gently yet have been built and tested for extreme usage. The proven split bearing design with wear guards and anti-wrap discs decreases the time needed for regular maintenance and improves pickup reliability. The floating windguard eliminates the need for operators to make adjustments when merging different crops or cuttings. Kuhn’s crop netting greatly limits leaf loss when transitioning onto the belt and into the windrow.

Mainframes and wing arms on each merger model have been updated to allow for the most intense usage in the field. KUHN has also added new hydraulic system upgrades for greater machine capacity.

All Kuhn’s 01 Series twin and triple merger models now include easy-to-use technology and software. The IntelliMerge system allows an operator to run, adjust, and receive machine diagnostics and feedback on an intuitive color display. The OptiSense belt stall system (optional on the MM 701) alerts the operator when the belts start to slow down when approaching the capacity of the merger. All functions of the machine including the OptiSense belt stall detection system are controlled from the ISOBUS terminal from the comfort of the cab. ISOBUS compatibility, an industry exclusive, is standard on all Kuhn twin and triple hay mergers.

The family business Grimme from Damme (Germany) has completely taken over the Danish specialist for vegetable technology Asa-Lift. In 2013 the Grimme Group already acquired 70% of the shares in the company founded in 1936 in Sorö, close to Copenhagen (Denmark).

Over the past seven years, the cooperation has developed very positively. During this time, the workforce has increased from 70 to over 130 employees. Extensive investments have been made in buildings, product development, production and the distribution of customer-specific machinery, for guaranted future growth. With over 30 product groups Grimme and
Asa-Lift offer the world’s most comprehensive range of vegetable technology for onions, carrots, red beet, chives, parsnips, fennel, celery, etc.

“With Asa-Lift and Grimme we have two strong brands for the high demands in vegetable cultivation. We will continue to develop this segment with maximum power to become the market leader in innovation, quality, performance, crop protection and profitability”,
