Doosan Infracore will become a subsidiary of the newly created Hyundai Genuine (HG) group alongside Hyundai Construction Equipment (HCE) as two independent construction equipment companies under HHIH. HG will act as the intermediary company of HHIH Group’s construction equipment businesses and will be leading both DI and HCE to maximize the company’s efforts and focus on the construction equipment industry. Together the two brands will combine as a global top player, putting us much closer to achieving the goal of becoming a global top 5 player.

The plan is to manage overlapping investments and invest heavily in areas like future technologies and innovation. Doosan Infracore will be working diligently to commercialize Concept-X and develop cutting-edge products such as electric excavators, battery packs, hybrid fuel cells, and other next-generation products. By focusing on each company’s areas of strength, HG will be able to advance the development of these types of products to gain a competitive edge in the global market.

Independently, the two companies will grow together, complement each other, even compete in good faith in all areas, including technology, production, purchasing, sales, and quality. This will enable our business to expand and associate with other companies operated by the whole HHI group.

Doosan Bobcat North America and Green Machine Equipment, Inc., a manufacturer of renewable power drive systems, announced today a strategic partnership to produce electric/hydraulic Bobcat compact excavators.

Green Machine will custom retrofit Bobcat excavators with their proprietary battery technology to replace the standard diesel power source and will sell the machines in select markets beginning this year. These electric/hydraulic machines will provide the power and performance equivalent to diesel-powered models, along with considerably lower daily operating costs, zero emissions, reduced noise, and minimal maintenance. The electric/hydraulic compact excavators will be beneficial to operators working in urban environments, such as working close to other buildings or in public spaces.

“This strategic partnership marks another key milestone in our drive to bring the latest technologies to our customers and accelerate electrification in our industry,”

said Joel Honeyman, vice president of Global Innovation at Doosan Bobcat.

“Doosan Bobcat is excited to partner with Green Machine as part of our commitment to innovation and sustainability.”

Launched in 2010, New York-based Green Machine is a wholly owned subsidiary of alternative energy company Viridi Parente, Inc. Viridi Parente is revolutionizing the future of distributed energy products. The company’s high-tech, clean, safe and sustainable battery pack has already begun displacing energy systems in a vast array of markets.

“At Green Machine, we are changing the way the world uses energy,”

said Jon M. Williams, CEO.

“By teaming up with a global leader like Doosan Bobcat, we can further advance our technology and the benefits of electrification through the power and performance for which Bobcat machines are known. Through this partnership, we will deliver safer, more cost-effective machines that can provide construction support in nearly any project environment, indoors, outdoors, confined spaces, and other applications that traditional fossil-fuel-powered equipment cannot support.”

Doosan Bobcat is constantly exploring new ways to advance the compact equipment industry with new technologies, services and products. Through its partnership with Green Machine, the company can continue to produce innovative products and solutions to help lead the compact equipment industry forward.

“We make innovation a part of every product we produce at Bobcat,”

said Honeyman.

“Electrification is another step forward in our commitment to sustainability, as well as a technology that will allow our customers to work more productively, efficiently and cost-effectively. This is why we continue to seek breakthrough innovations to empower people to accomplish more today and in the future.”

With uncontrolled population growth, physical spaces have become more confined, and carrying out the digging operations is becoming difficult. Compact excavators have emerged as a key automotive vehicle that can help in excavation of soil and other earthen materials in cramped up spaces. With the trend of miniaturization influencing the global automotive sector, companies are actively partaking in the production of compact excavators. While the conventional excavators have been struggling to reach the narrowed spots between buildings and tight spaces, compact excavators are being predominantly used in such digging purposes.

Manufacturers of compact excavators are witnessing a considerable rise in demand from individuals as well as local construction companies. New compact excavators entering the market are being designed to meet the earth-moving requirements of the future. The comfort of operating compact excavators is further driving the working professionals in the construction industry towards them. Moreover, the function of changing the attachments on the compact excavators is enabling the process of high-level excavations. Large construction companies are replacing the conventional heavy duty excavators with compact excavators to reap high profit margins from low fuel consumption and lesser carbon emission. Better maneuverability, reduced noise emission, and operational ease are a few other factors driving the demand for compact excavators in the global construction industry.

According to a recently report, the global market for compact excavators is likely to expand at a 2.7% CAGR in terms of volume during the forecast period, 2017-2026. The report further projects that by the end of 2026, over 173.6 Bn units of compact excavators will be sold across the globe.

Effective today, Doosan Bobcat North America will transition its rights to the U.S. sales, marketing and service of the Montabert brand of attachments to Montabert SAS, creating a direct link between the brand’s U.S. distribution network and factory in Lyon, France. This change is the result of an agreement reached jointly by both parties to support Montabert SAS’s desire to get closer to its U.S. customer base.

“We appreciate the partnership we have had with Montabert over the past 10 years and wish them well in the future,” said Scott Park, president and CEO of Doosan Bobcat. “As of today, all U.S. rights to the Montabert brand, our dealer agreements and our service and sales staff become the responsibility of Montabert.”

To support the change, Montabert has been investing in new support facilities across the U.S. including:

A state-of-the-art service center that opened in March in Chattanooga, Tenn., for product support and reman program.

A new Distribution and Customer Center opening April 1 in the St Louis, Mo., area with over 50,000 square feet of warehouse space and offices.

A new facility under construction in Elko, Nev., to support customers on the west coast, planned for completion in 2020.

“We are excited about the benefits achievable through complete system integration between the U.S. distribution center and Montabert factory,” said Stephane Giroudon, Montabert Sales Director – Americas, who will oversee the company’s U.S. operations. “We have been working closely with Doosan Bobcat North America to make sure the process goes smoothly, especially for our customers, our valued network of dealers, and our employees.”

Current sales and service contacts in the field remain the same. A new online Montabert dealer portal will launch April 1, with full ordering capabilities, parts breakdown, warranty system and case management to further enhance the dealer experience.
