This prestigious acknowledgment was the culmination of research conducted in partnership
with the National Biodiesel Board and National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) and focused
on different biodiesel blends and their effects on FPT’s latest North America product range.

In particular, the NBB-funded research involved a NEF six-cylinder engine certified to U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final, which was endurance-tested at the NREL lab in Colorado.

The final results, presented in Kansas City, showed positive results in FPT Industrial engines’ ability to operate with different biodiesel blends. The project also highlighted the need to approve similar projects in order to expand usage to further reduce the agroindustry’s dependence on fossil fuels.

“I am pleased to see that this partnership generated valuable data for our research and development activities. We also gained recognition in the industry for our efforts. This project really shows what’s possible when we leverage our external partnerships to push forward change in our industries together,”

CNH Industrial Reman recently added a 3D printer to its manufacturing facility. With the technology growing at an incredible rate, the new 3D printer offers CNH Reman the capability to produce a vast array of complex and custom components, fixtures, and tools.

As CNH Reman continues to develop its 3D printer capabilities and testing, the company anticipates expansion to the production of component parts that will be assembled into high-quality, finished products for its customers.

“These components typically come at a high cost due to minimum buy quantity restrictions or vendor upcharge for a small batch. The 3D printer will allow us to produce lower volume components in our facility at a reduced cost. The design flexibility will also allow our engineering team to make modifications to these components to improve performance and quality. In turn, producing a better product at a lower cost of ownership,”

said Jeremy Kelley, product engineering manager at CNH Industrial Reman.

In addition, each component, fixture, or tool can also be produced almost immediately within the CNH Reman facility, which reduces cost and long lead times.

CNH Reman is currently working through the setup process and producing prototypes with the 3D printer. To date, CNH Reman successfully produced tooling and fixtures to aid with production and component measurement processes. As the technology continues to advance, CNH Reman believes 3D printers will offer multiple opportunities for advancement in reman products.

“The possibilities of 3D printing are nearly limitless. The expansion of material types and size envelope can offer an endless opportunity in reman product life. This will help to keep our customers’ machines running throughout their lifespan,”

Case IH is introducing the WD5 series windrowers to its lineup of self-propelled harvesting equipment. These new models offer more consistent drydown and the fastest speeds in the industry, making them the most productive and efficient hay-harvesting solution on the market.

WD5 series windrowers were engineered to help growers take on harvest windows with faster, more consistent drydown. With transport speeds up to 30 mph, operators can travel efficiently from farm to field. Haying time and costs are also cut with field speeds up to 20 mph.

To provide a premium operator experience and enhance productivity, WD5 series windrowers are designed with a quiet, comfortable cab environment, while an independent air-assisted rear-axle suspension provides a smoother ride. Plus, a tuned cab suspension means better fore/aft stabilization and ride cushioning. Designed to excel through hilly areas, a robust drivetrain design produces over 11,000 foot-pounds of torque, while a four-link rear suspension provides greater stability and reduces the need for added ballast.

The Case IH SurroundVision cab is packed with productivity-boosting features, including larger, easy-entry steps, a leather ventilated seat and additional window tinting for a cool and comfortable workday. This allows operators to address a range of soil management challenges to make every inch of the field an optimal environment for plants and to minimize erosion and preserve moisture where needed.

This capability completes the full suite of AFS Soil Command offerings — including seedbed sensing, agronomic control, and mapping technologies — to optimize seedbed preparation for planting productivity.

When using a True-Tandem 335VT vertical tillage tool in fields with highly erodible zones, AFS Soil Command enables the operator to run at deeper depths to manage heavy residue cover, and as shallow as 0 in. in areas that a farm manager needs to preserve. It can also help producers address compaction by giving operators the ability to run deeper to fracture the compaction layer with a tough primary tillage tool, such as the Ecolo-Tiger 875 disk ripper — and work soil-less aggressively in other areas for soil preservation.

Through Advanced Farming Systems (AFS) Connect, a farm manager, consultant or agronomist can create prescription maps that enable automatic machine adjustments to help achieve changing soil goals across a field. Each aspect of the tillage tool can be assigned different prescriptions, so the entire tillage tool, not just depth, is precisely coordinated and monitored. AFS Soil Command agronomic control technology optimizes settings for depth control, fore/aft leveling, stabilizer wheel position, and Crumbler downforce.

Case IH agronomic research demonstrates enhanced productivity

AFS Soil Command tillage prescriptions contribute to more efficient soil management. With the ability to vary and increase speed as conditions allow, operators can cover more acres. Plus, tillage prescription technology can help minimize equipment wear and tear — and maximize fuel efficiency — as the machine is adjusted in conditions that require little to no-tillage treatment.

In Case IH research with the Ecolo-Tiger 875 disk ripper, prescriptions developed based on soil type and conditions contributed to more efficient fuel economy and usage, compared with constant-depth tillage. With increased field speeds, tillage prescriptions helped enhance productivity by up to 9.5%.

“This productivity gain can make a world of difference when operators are performing soil management in tight windows. Plus, these efficiencies can help producers get the most out of their equipment by lowering cost per acre,”

Lursen said.

In fields with compaction, tillage prescriptions can be developed to fracture hardpan at the appropriate depth to help boost yield potential. In research from the University of Illinois, corn yields increased by 33 bushels per acre, and 18 bushels per acre for soybeans — all by eliminating compaction. This is because uneven crop emergence and stand variability — often caused by compaction — can reduce crop yields by up to 50%.

The full suite of AFS Soil Command tillage technology is currently available for the Tiger-Mate 255 field cultivator, single-fold True-Tandem disk harrows and vertical tillage tools, and the Ecolo-Tiger 875 disk ripper. AFS Soil Command prescription technology can be used on Case IH AFS Pro 1200 and AFS Pro 700 displays.

Breizelec stocks a large selection of remanufactured electronic components at their Montreal distribution center. Most available part numbers deliver within 24 to 48 hours. If reman is not available, dealers have the option to send the failed electronic unit in for repair. In most cases, parts are repaired and returned within two weeks.

In Europe, Breizelec already had an existing relationship with CNH Industrial, offering a wide coverage of CNH branded parts and catalog. This partnership extends the relationship to North America.
