Customers can now choose from three technology packs for fast and easy feature choice to suit individual demands. They can be specified alongside the existing Evolution or Excellence packages, easing the ordering process and matching business demands, while boosting residual value at trade-in.

Tech Pack 1 comprises the armrest-mounted STEYR Infomat 1200 touchscreen, plus a readiness package for a second display. Upgrading to Tech Pack 2 or 3 adds additional automation and further enhances the accuracy level of STEYR Guide auto-steering.

STEYR Terrus CVT tractors also now come with Connectivity Included. This brings seamless connected services and FieldOps data monitoring and management throughout the life of the connectivity modem, with no recurring subscription fees. When a new Terrus CVT is added to a customer account, qualifying existing machines can be upgraded to Connectivity Included at no extra cost. The FieldOps complete data management via app and web provides users with near real-time access to machine and agronomic data.

Joystick revision permits control of both front and rear linkages

The armrest-integrated joystick now allows users to also operate both the front and rear linkages. Through the STEYR Infomat 1200 touchscreen, the joystick functions can be configured according to whether the tractor is operating front- or rear-mounted equipment or a combination of the two.

Varifeed header upgrades

New Holland Varifeed headers feature multiple updates to enhance intake and minimize losses. All Varifee models offer 575mm of fore-aft knife travel to allow adjustment for high-volume crops such as rapeseed.

The new inline knife drive on all models means output shaft motion is now fully linear, delivering direct, efficient power for smooth, precise cutting with less vibration, noise, and with greater cutting force, especially in tough materials and at higher ground speeds. Furthermore, the previous belt drive design has been replaced by gearboxes and a telescopic shaft, reducing driveline maintenance needs.

Knife speed has been increased by 11% to 735rpm to enable higher forward ground speed with the same cutting performance. This is matched by the intake capability of a heavy-duty 660mm reinforced auger. The new auger height adjustment assembly provides two pre-set positions: high for rapeseed and low for small grains. This new feature reduces adjustment time by 75% – from 20 minutes to just five – on single-span augers.

New hydraulically-operated gauge wheels mean transport/trailer mode or field mode can be selected from the cab, alleviating the need to raise the wheels manually before the header is loaded on the trailer.

CX5/6 and CH7 series combine updates

The CX5 and CX6, and CH7 hybrid combines, which feature drum-and-concave and Twin Rotor technology, now benefit from a revised Smart Sieve option and remote sieve adjustment. Pre-sieve adjustment is now mechanically linked to upper sieve movement: when the upper sieve is adjusted, the pre-sieve follows accordingly, saving time and ensuring matched performance. The offset between the upper sieve and pre-sieve can still be adjusted mechanically. For units equipped with the manual sieve adjustment feature and with Smart Sieve levelling to counter sloping terrain, the pre-sieve can now be more easily adjusted from the rear via a new lever.

For chaff spreaders specified with remote-controlled deflectors, crop build-up on the spreading system and deflector blockages are now prevented as the deflectors automatically move fully to the right and left when threshing is disengaged. Once this movement is complete, the deflectors return to the original position.

Enhanced Boom Stability and Alignment

BoomTrac Pro 2 is equipped with five boom height sensors and a n Inertia Measurement Unit (IMU) sensor, ensuring the spray boom is correctly positioned at all times. This maintains consistent application heights, reduces drift, allows for higher speeds, and minimises operator stress. The actively controlled centre frame delivers maximum stiffness and optimal boom performance. It combines high stability with an intelligent dampening system that smooths out operation.

Advanced Drivetrain for Maximum Efficiency

At the heart of the 500R is the CommandDrive variable speed hydrostatic transmission, which offers an infinite range of speeds for optimal performance. A single hydrostatic pump powers four variable wheel motors, each connected to a heavy-duty planetary final drive hub. This configuration ensures full pulling power at each wheel and delivers superior traction control. The independent wheel motors automatically adjust power based on weight distribution and wheel speed, maintaining stability and grip in all conditions. The combination of PowrSpray, ExactApply, and BoomTrac Pro 2 delivers up to 98% accuracy in spraying applications. PowrSpray is a dual circuit pump system developed exclusively by John Deere. Its key component, the Direct Rate Controller on the spray pump, can change output from minimum to maximum in less than three seconds, maintaining a consistent application rate even when forward speed changes. ExactApply offers highly precise spray control through individual nozzle management and pulse width modulation which maintains a constant droplet size across a large ground speed range, thus maximising application quality. The automatic turn compensation ensures a constant application rate in case the machine follows a curved track, and the new multi-meter feature allows up to 11 different rates across the boom bringing application to an even higher precision.

SenseApply Camera Unit

IntelliSense Sprayer Automation uses a single cab-mounted, factory-fit SenseApply Camera unit.

The SenseApply camera unit is a forward-looking, multi-spectral vision system that enables IntelliSense Sprayer Automation to continuously scan upcoming field conditions (50 feet out in front of the sprayer) across the full width of the boom from a high vantage point atop the cab. The result: an expanded vision of the field that generates quicker and longer leading assessments, allowing the operator to drive and apply accurately at a faster speed than any other sense and act technology on the market today.

Selective Spray Function

The leading aspect of the new IntelliSense Sprayer Automation is its Selective Spray function. It offers operators the choice of two application types to enhance herbicide applications: Spot Spraying and Base + Boost.

Spot Spraying utilizes green-on-brown functionality and operates by detecting weeds smaller in stature (less than two inches in height) and activates nozzles on the boom that correspond to the location of the detected weed.

Where an operator is applying a broadcast herbicide over a field, Base + Boost mode applies a uniform base rate across the entire coverage width and activates a localized boost rate from nozzles where weeds are detected. When the SenseApply camera identifies a weed, IntelliSense Sprayer Automation boosts the maximum application rate for that single weed within the herbicide’s prescription rate range.

These two operations offer farmers enhanced capabilities to utilize their herbicide application: the ability to apply a broadcast herbicide to knock out smaller weeds and a prescription rate to manage larger weeds. Within both Selective Spray modes, the operator can alter sensitivity and coverage area. This means the operator can adjust the system’s responsiveness to weed size based on a scale of small, medium or high and the target application area where a weed is detected.

Other Functions

Beyond Selective Spray, IntelliSense Sprayer Automation bolsters its capabilities with a range of full-season live variable rate application functions that further elevate a sprayer’s productivity, utility and overall operating ROI. Functions include nitrogen variable rate application (VRA), plant growth regulator VRA, fungicide VRA, harvest aid VRA and burndown VRA. These functions operate by automatically adjusting the amount of each input applied (nitrogen, PGR, fungicide, harvest aid and burndown) based on detected biomass health levels.

To further in-field productivity, a Guardian front boom sprayer actively engaging one of the VRA functions can operate at speeds up to 25 mph. If Selective Spray is in active use, the sprayer can run at speeds up to 19 mph. This is an industry-leading speed range that ensures sprayer operators can maintain a high level of in-field performance and quality of application to maximize every ounce of input running through the boom.

Currently, IntelliSense Sprayer Automation can be used on a variety of crops, including corn, soybeans, wheat, barley, canola, cotton, small grains, edible beans and other legumes.

Productivity Enhanced

IntelliSense Sprayer Automation can create cost savings for applicators by enabling more efficient applications. In 2024, Kansas State University and CNH partnered to conduct field trials evaluating the performance of IntelliSense Sprayer Automation’s nitrogen VRA function in corn. The findings: ~10 percent savings in applied nitrogen compared to a constant broadcast rate. Contributing to this result is the system’s nitrogen VRA function, which can identify and automatically apply the most appropriate amount of nitrogen within the prescribed rate range according to the assessed plant biomass health.

“If that crop has already met its potential and an operator is broadcast applying, they’re wasting that nitrogen application. With IntelliSense Sprayer Automation we can turn the level of applied nitrogen down or up based on what that crop might need. We’re analyzing and nurturing individual plants now versus taking a wide brush to everything in the field to more efficiently and effectively use our crop inputs and those precious budgets.”

The nitrogen use efficiency of IntelliSense Sprayer Automation creates financial savings but also extends the activity of that sprayer tank, allowing the operator to not have to stop and fill up as frequently. Considering the Kansas State University research, a 1,600-gallon sprayer tank now becomes, in theory, a 1,700+ gallon sprayer tank.

According to new data, U.S. Sales of Ag tractors fell 11.3% while combined sales fell 26.4% in December 2024 compared to 2023.

The MCL loaders are compact but robust machines providing features and functionality not found in other machines their size. A folding canopy allows users to work in areas inaccessible by traditional, larger loaders. The loaders are equipped with hydraulic and maneuverability options, M-Drive and Speed Control. With M-Drive, the engine speed can be controlled independently of travel speed, allowing power and hydraulic flow to be adapted to best suit the job at hand. Speed Control allows operators to set the maximum travel speed from 1 mph to the max speed of 19 mph (MCL6 & MCL8 only).

Operators can easily fold down the canopy in seconds by removing a pin on each column and simply pushing the roof back. This reduces the machine’s height by as much as a foot (0.3 meters) to less than 6.6 feet (2 meters), allowing them to drive in areas with limited clearance, operate seamlessly indoors and navigate under carports and garage doors with swift, agile performance.

With a good balance between compactness and lifting capacity, MCL loaders can accommodate a range of attachments, including buckets, grapple forks, pallet forks and shredders. An extended boom enhances material handling productivity, making tasks such as stacking bales, managing fodder and cleaning stables simple and efficient. The MCL series’ optimum height-to-width-to-length ratio ensures agility on any jobsite. Each machine has a 45-degree articulation that keeps the front wheels traveling in the same path as the rear wheels while driving. A 10-degree oscillation allows for a strong follow-up and maximum traction wherever the machine might travel, including on uneven ground.

Adjusting downforce automatically

The aim is to make emergence more uniform and to optimize the technical equipment. One example of this is the DeltaForce automatic down-force system, which measures and regulates the down-force row by row and several times per second to ensure optimum placement depth and root development. A fixed down-force setting is rarely suitable for all conditions of a field, as many farm areas are heterogeneous. Management is therefore a balancing act between “not too much and not too little”. Too little downforce causes shallower placed seeds and late germination. Too much on the other hand, leads to compaction and poor root development – both of which cost yields. To ensure that the down force setting is suitable for all areas, it is first measured and then adjusted accordingly. The automatic DeltaForce downforce system was developed for this purpose. It measures and regulates the downforce during sowing, row by row and several times per second. The system detects, visualizes and adjusts machine settings in real time based on the data collected. Depending on the conditions, the individual units can be pressurized or raised individually. This minimizes the risk and lays the foundation for uniform field emergence.

Rethinking sampling

Reliable soil data is essential. There are many different soil scanners, but they often deliver different results. Therefore, wet chemical soil analysis is still necessary, be it just to calibrate the scanner methods, drone or satellite data. A cost-effective, standardized laboratory method that allows a high number of samples per hectare would give precision agriculture a boost in this respect.

With Radicle Agronomics, a system is now available that combines planning, sampling, analysis and the entire logistics of soil sampling. There is no need to create labels and label soil bags. All this is done automatically in the field while GeoPress fills the GeoTubes with the collected soil. With the help of RFID technology, each sample container, a so-called tube, is provided with the coordinates and the data required for further processing in the laboratory.
