About 30 attendees gathered for a luncheon and presentation by Spicola and other ClicRtechnologies team members. Among those in attendance were representatives from Florida Senator Marco Rubio’s office, guests from the University of Florida’s Beef Teaching Unit and Abraham Baldwin Agricultura College (ABAC).

Recently ABAC partnered with ClicRtechnologies and American Cattlemen magazine to produce a series of articles after the company donated $40,000 along with three weighing systems for the school’s cattle operations.

After the luncheon, all attendees had the opportunity to view the ClicRweight Bovine Solution for themselves at work in one of Double C Bar’s pastures. The system is set up in a simple pole barn around the water source. An RFID ear tag is scanned whenever an animal goes to drink and a camera instantly begins “clicking” hundreds of 3D photographs. That data is immediately processed into a weight, which can be viewed with a digital dashboard made accessible through any device with connection to the internet.

Over time, the system continues to learn each animal, providing the herd’s valuable information including daily rate of gain, weight average and feed efficiency. The ClicRweight Bovine Solution has been in place on the Double C Bar Ranch since early March. Joe Planz, a ClicRtechnologies board member and investor, grazes some of his cattle herd on the ranch.

“Grazing our calves two and half hours away from the main ranch,”

he says.

“ClicR enables us to have a constant analysis of how the calves are doing in real-time and enables us to address any issues expediently and proactively.”

The next day, the ClicRtechnologies team gathered in the company’s new International headquarters in Tampa. The team discussed plans for company growth in the near future and progress made over the last 12 months.

These $1,000 scholarships are available to any farm, ranch, agribusiness woman, or her daughter to pursue accredited courses directly related to agriculture. They are the Jean Ibendahl Scholarship for the High School Graduate and the Sister Thomas More Bertels Continuing Education Scholarship.

Madeline Zutz of Valders, WI, is currently enrolled at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine.

”Financially, farming has been a tough business for my family. My commitment toward agriculture is evident in the organizations, jobs, and events that I choose to be involved with, which excites me to continue in my agricultural journey.”

Attending the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine is Rachel Poor of Pittsfield, IL; Rachel Poor enjoys activities that help others. Mounted Angels, a program that provides therapeutic horse riding for individuals with special needs and children, is one of those ways while additionally volunteering at an animal shelter. Rachel has the desire to return home and help the local farmers she has grown to admire within the community.

These $1,200 scholarships exemplify the characteristics of hard work, dedication, and a spirit within the women in agriculture.

“After reviewing all the applications, these young women are a role model and an inspiration to other women,”

expresses Ardath DeWall, AAW Foundation’s Scholarship Chair.

With past experiences and future education, Molly Biggs of Dixon, IL, hopes to increase transparency between producers and consumers in the agriculture industry. Her plans include attending Kansas State University and double majoring in Agriculture Communications and Animal Science with a career goal to work in Ag Marketing and Digital Design.

Brylie Thompson of Genoa, CO, has a personal goal to attain an Agricultural Communications and Agricultural Education Degree at Texas A&M University. Her heart for service shone through by donating holiday blankets to less-fortunate elementary students. She took her idea, contacted teachers to determine how many blankets would be needed, organized the FFA Chapter in completing the project while raising the funding to complete it. A true testament to get a job done.

This $1,000 scholarship went to Madison Baumgartner of Bismarck, ND. She was previously enrolled in a study abroad course that focused on comparative livestock systems in the Midwest vs. England. Madison is a very inquisitive individual who is passionate about the veterinary science industry and the animals within them. She will do well as she works toward her career goal of becoming a food animal veterinarian. The AAW Foundation thanks Jane Marshall for putting this scholarship together and thanks to the members and friends who contributed to it.

Background

Following the December 2019 announcement of a new farm stress management online training course for employees and members of Farm Credit, Farm Bureau and Farmers Union, these organizations have launched a free online training course available to the general public.

Developed by Michigan State University Extension (MSU Extension) and University of Illinois Extension (Illinois UIExtension), the course provides participants with skills to understand the sources of stress, manage their own stress, learn the warning signs of stress and suicide, identify effective communication strategies, reduce stigma related to mental health concerns and connect farmers and ranchers with appropriate mental health and other resources.

The official representative of Afimilk in the south of Russia – dealer company YugAfimilk – undertook all works on organization and technical support of the seminar. The training took place in the Krasnodar office of Afimilk and was conducted by Afimilk specialists.

The seminar was titled: Herd Management with AfiFarm for Advanced Users. Therefore, this time, only the specialists who already had experience working with AfiFarm came to improve their skills in using the program.

Veterinarians, inseminators, livestock specialists, breeders and managers from nine farms of the Krasnodar Territory came to get acquainted with new or already familiar, but improved and more convenient features of the program.
