During the 2024 World Ag Expo, Rain Bird representatives spoke to the media on these topics and more:

Expanding product portfolio: Rain Bird is introducing two new products to the GritX
portfolio, GritX DSV and GritX SDI Pressure Compensating Heavywall Dripline, as well
as the Micro Bird Jet sprinkler.

Rain Bird’s GritX Technology delivers water directly to plants while preventing debris from clogging emitters. The Dual Seal Valve (DSV) emitter has a built-in check valve to ensure each plant gets the right amount of water. GritX SDI features Copper Shield Technology to protect from root intrusion and ensure consistent watering.

The newest innovation in jet irrigation technology, Micro Bird Jet, has been showcased at the World Ag Expo.

The GritX Pressure Compensating Heavywall Dripline and Micro Bird sprinklers are just
two new products in Rain Bird’s portfolio of dependable precision irrigation solutions that
address customer needs, like labour accessibility and water efficiency.

The Intelligent Use of Water: Rain Bird recognizes that watering crops simply, yet ultra-efficiently is critically important to growers. The company’s philosophy, The Intelligent Use of Water, showcases its history through the development of easy-to-use, water-efficient irrigation products, designed to save water and energy.

Legacy in agriculture: Rain Bird’s 90-year legacy in agriculture irrigation began in 1933
with the invention of the horizontal action impact drive sprinkler. Today, Rain Bird
continues to focus on innovation, research and product optimization.

Fendt and Massey Ferguson tractors, the new Hesston by Massey Ferguson WR Series windrower, and interactive displays make for an innovative and dynamic exhibit.

AGCO Corporation will showcase equipment from its Fendt, Massey Ferguson, Hesston by Massey Ferguson brands, as well as other implements at the 2022 World Ag Expo in Tulare, CA, on February 8-10. Highlighting AGCO’s appearance will be the debut of the new Hesston WR Series windrower, the interactive FendtONE Experience Center, and a wide array of popular tractors and Ride & Drive opportunities. AGCO’s booth is located between Q and R streets on North Street.

After a digital-only show in 2021, the 55th World Ag Expo is “Back in AgTion” this year and will feature more than 95 special events, seminars, equipment displays, and livestock demonstrations.

“We’re tremendously excited to be back in Tulare this year. Shows like World Ag Expo provide critical opportunities for farmers to share their needs and learn how AGCO equipment make their operations more efficient and profitable,”

said Darren Parker, AGCO’s vice president of Massey Ferguson NA.

AGCO’s large and dynamic booth fits prominently in the show’s proceedings and will feature new equipment and interactive experiences from across its brand lineup that makes it a must-see stop for all attendees:

Massey Ferguson 8S Series Tractor: New to World Ag Expo! The 8S Series tractor opens a new era for Massey Ferguson’s storied brand and World Ag Expo attendees will be the first on the West Coast to see it! The 8S project began from a blank page and built a complete farming solution based on an in-depth “Voice of the Customer” study, which included one-on-one interviews with operators around the globe. The result is a revolutionary and powerful tractor with a spacious cab, less noise and vibration, and better visibility for more productive operations.

Hesston WR Series Windrower by Massey Ferguson: Debuting at World Ag Expo! Hesston’s hay and foraging solutions have long been the equipment of choice for farmers across the United States and attendees will be the first to see the new WR Series self-propelled windrower. Larger fuel capacity and hydraulic efficiencies mean the new WR Series offers more uptime, more power, and more comfort to maximize hay production and quality. The WR Series is a smarter, more powerful way to better hay.

Hesston Balers and Rakes: Hesston by Massey Ferguson has produced the industry’s leading balers and rakes for generations, and both will be on-hand for up-close inspection. Available on the lot will be Hesston’s 2200 Series large square baler, 1800 Series small square baler, and RK Series rotary rakes.

FendtONE Experience Center: New to World Ag Expo! The Fendt Mobile Experience Center is an innovative digital experience that educates farmers on the unique capabilities of Fendt’s latest technology and equipment. The highly-customized platform offers multiple interactive displays that highlight Fendt tractors, combines, planters and application machinery, including informative video, customer experiences, and benchmarking results. The highlight of the experience is a complete and fully-functional FendtONE cab for visitors to operate and gain a unique hands-on user experience. The FendtONE Experience Center will be open for all attendees to enjoy.

Fendt Ride & Drive: New to World Ag Expo! Fendt’s Ride & Drive experience at WAE will provide hands-on opportunities for some of its newest and most powerful tractors. The Fendt 700 will feature its innovative CargoProfi loader for demonstrations and the new 1167 Vario MT and 942 Vario will be available for attendees to experience the latest in Fendt cab technology, operator ergonomics, and high-end features and capabilities.

Massey Ferguson Ride & Drive and Backhoe Challenge: These popular hands-on events return with GC backhoes, CUE tractors, and ground tools and implements. Attendees will be able to dig, scrape, blade, and have fun experiencing the usefulness of the compact utility lifestyle!

A Wide Array of Tractors and Implements: Both Fendt and Massey Ferguson will showcase tractors and implements that are ideal for the vineyards, orchards, and production operations in the western US. Many Fendt tractors displayed will be new to World Ag Expo attendees and range from the FT 300 Vario’s 113HP to the FT 1167 Vario MT’s staggering 673HP. Massey Ferguson’s wide-ranging lineup will vary from the compact GC1700 all the way up to the new 8S Series tractor and the 8700 S workhorse.

FPT Industrial is presenting a new special project called “Behind Food” along with its latest engines at the World Ag Expo 2022, the world’s largest agricultural exhibition, which takes place in Tulare, California, from February 8 to 10.

Visitors can check the news of the Brand at booth T36 at the North Exhibits.

The project “Behind Food” is an initiative of FPT Industrial to promote sustainable agriculture, showing how innovative powertrain technologies are part of a chain that takes high-quality, healthy products from the field to the table. In collaboration with Eataly, the world’s largest artisanal Italian food and beverage marketplace, FPT Industrial will debut the “Behind Food” cooking show, taking viewers through a tasting journey from the Californian farms of Sohnrey Family Foods, Trattore Farms, and Hilmar Jerseys to the kitchen of Eataly’s headquarters in Turin, Italy. All farms involved in the project are customers of New Holland Agriculture, which is also a key partner of “Behind Food”.

During the press event at FPT Industrial’s booth, on February 9, at 10:30 PST, there will also be a live cooking demo led by Fabio Angeli, Chef of La Scuola Eataly, Los Angeles. The presence of Eataly reinforces the partnership that started in 2019 between the two companies, built on their common vision of providing environmentally friendly products with quality and passion.

In addition to an updated build, the 2022 LaserWeeder features 30 industrial CO2 lasers, more than 3X the lasers in Carbon Robotics’ self-driving Autonomous LaserWeeder, creating an average weeding capacity of two acres per hour. Growers who use Carbon Robotics’ implements are seeing up to 80% savings in weed management costs, with a break-even period of 2-3 years.

Carbon Robotics CEO and Founder, Paul Mikesell, said:

“We’ve proven the effectiveness of our laserweeding technology and the immense benefits it offers farmers, including healthier crops and soil, decreased herbicide use, and reduced chemical and labor costs. To best serve farmers’ needs, we’ve adapted the design of our product, but will still leverage our proven laserweeding technology. Our mission has always been to provide farmers with the most effective tools, and the strong demand for LaserWeeders is evidence we’re helping them solve a serious problem.”

Carbon Robotics worked closely with leading vegetable growers to design the 2022 implement so it integrates effortlessly into existing farming infrastructure while covering more ground and solving problems associated with spraying, hand weeding, and mechanical weeding.

As a liftable agricultural implement, the 2022 LaserWeeder offer unique benefits, including:

Higher Performance. With 30 lasers spanning three crop rows (roughly 20 feet wide), this model has an average effective weeding capacity of two acres per hour.

Flexible Configuration. The robot is fully adjustable for crop row widths ranging from 60 to 84 inches. Adjustments for transitioning between different crops can be made via a touch-screen without leaving the comfort of the cab.

Tractor Ready. The LaserWeeder is towed by common row tractors with a three-point hitch.

This 2022 LaserWeeder, like its self-driving 2021 predecessor, features Carbon Robotics’ sophisticated artificial intelligence technology. This system enables the robot to instantly identify, target, and eliminate weeds using thermal energy — while rolling. Carbon Robotics’ patented lighting system enables the LaserWeeder to operate day or night in virtually all weather conditions, with millimeter accuracy.

director of innovation & new technology at Grimmway Farms, Jeff Morrison, said:

“Grimmway Farms is dedicated to protecting natural resources and the environment while optimizing crop yield and soil health. We are constantly improving our processes and evaluating new equipment to support our commitment to this mission. When we learned of Carbon Robotics’ laserweeding technology, we were eager to deploy this technology on our farms. This revolutionary approach to weeding has the potential to deliver precision, reliability, and cost-effectiveness in organic weeding that has not previously been available, making it an ideal solution to weed management.”

Farmers have long relied on traditional weeding methods including, herbicides, mechanical weeding, and hand weeding, though each present challenges. Herbicides can impact the health of the crops, mechanical weeding can damage the plants, and hand labor is expensive and challenging to find. Laserweeding is an innovative, reliable, and sustainable solution for farmers and has proven to be effective on more than a dozen crops.

president and GM of Triangle Farms in Salinas, Calif, Josh Roberts, said:

With the movement in the Ag industry looking towards recycling and sustainability, information tracking, and digitalization can often be a complex and time-consuming solution. ALLU is one step ahead once again, giving you the ability to recycle and increase your profit margin.

Sustainability and recycling are key to success going forward, the agriculture industry and farming is changing. Composting and waste recycling is an industry by itself.

Materials that are leftover from the agriculture process must be sorted in some way, even if the material – inert – is being directly sent to landfill as most landfill sites will not accept some types of material, and often require sorting into categories prior to disposal. Traditionally this has meant that the material is sent to recycling centres resulting in haulage costs, charges to the recycling centres, and then landfill costs themselves for materials that cannot be recycled or reused. ALLU is once again one step ahead to help you remove such an issue and change a cost into a profit margin.

The ALLU Transformer DL series screening attachments are for compact base machines and suitable for excavators max. 12Tn, loaders 8Tn, tractors, and backhoe loaders.

These compact-sized screening buckets make the perfect attachments for landscaping and agricultural applications. From composting to aerating, topsoil screening to waste and debris processing, all can be carried out on-site. They are truly mobile, offering you the versatility and flexibility to work more efficiently in the most challenging environments.

The ALLU technology quite literally transforms the material making operations more productive, more environmentally friendly, and more profitable. With versatility at its very core, the Transformer will process just about anything it encounters. This includes materials including animals’ mortality residuals, topsoil, excavated soil, and contaminated soil. In effect, virtually any material can be crushed, screened, sized, and sorted.

This results in material processing being revolutionised as it will be accomplished with the Transformer converting the base machine (such as a tractor) into a mobile processing plant. Through using the machine in this new way, companies will benefit from reduced investment and operating costs, have a smaller carbon footprint, and lower transportation costs, with material being transformed into a valuable product, thereby producing a profit stream, rather than a cost.

Source: ALLU

Quality recycled Products

Despite the equipment as a tractor, skid steer, wheel loader, or excavator being available to recycle organic waste, many agricultural businesses do not handle the material processing themselves. They waste the valuable material, or it is simply hauled away to a recycling plant before most of the material is sent for landfill. This is a serious cost for agricultural business company and a waste of highly valuable materials.

One such solution to dealing with waste at source is the ALLU DL-Series or all other ALLU products that can crush soft and brittle material, separate hard unwanted impurities while loading a dump truck or stockpiling system. This makes them ideal for processing organic and even inorganic waste.

Transforming your business

What ensures that the ALLU products really stand out from the rest is the way its use helps customers transform their entire operation. The profitability of a business is transformed as materials can be processed already at the site, rather than transported for further processing. This will also reduce outside waste deposits and bring environmental benefits, as waste is separated before transportation.

Business efficiency is further transformed as the loading and processing of materials is now accomplished in one stage resulting in faster, more efficient processing. Essentially the tractor, skid steer, loader or excavator now becomes a multi-machine that can load and process whilst simultaneously replacing ‘overlapping’ steps at the farm. This eliminates material double handling needs and helps with cost reduction.

The same concept applies to the workforce, as improved utilization and fewer pieces of machinery require fewer people to operate the equipment. The base machine will be effectively transformed into a multi-functional tool that will compost, aerate, screen, crush, and load, in a one-step operation. As part of the digital solution, all ALLU units are equipped with a tracking Bluetooth system that connects to the ALLU app that can be installed on any mobile device, such as a mobile phone or a tablet.
