The overall total number of versions adds up to around 85 different tractors that differ in power, steering wheels or articulated chassis, mechanical or hydrostatic transmission, monodirectional or reversible drive, standard or lowered setting, with equal sized wheels or larger rear wheels for the “orchard” configurations.

Antonio Carraro adopts a taylor-made (and Made in Italy) tractor production process destined for the European market, as well as many other markets around the world, such as the US market, where the legislation on emissions is different.
The latest race to comply with emission laws regarding Stage 5 diesel engines has led to large-scale economic investment in both the selection of the engines themselves as well as the engineering and positioning of the engines so as to alter as little as possible the dimensions of the new compact “emissioned” tractors.

The numbers 3800, 4800 up to 8900 distinguish each model and indicate the engine adopted by each tractor, often very different from each other and aimed at customers just as different from each other.

Antonio Carraro’s Business history

After the split of Giovanni Carraro, in 1960, Antonio Carraro began its production of compact tractors for specialized agriculture, under the rotating four-horse brand, a Persian symbol of fertility and strength dating back to the 1600s. From the beginning one success led to another: from 1970 they broke away from all competitors and the Antonio Carraro brand became a market leader in the compact tractor sector.

In 1973 Antonio Carraro founded “Centre for Study and Research”, one of the first in the Italian metal mechanical sector, where a team of technicians was dedicated exclusively to the research into innovative vehicles for agriculture, in collaboration with universities in Padova, Bologna, Berlin, Humboldt, and Sidney.

From 2000 the company’s first expansion plan began with the construction of new warehouses in Campodarsego along with the reorganization of all production departments, in line with Porsche Consulting from Stuttgart. The training, over 3 years, brought about a fundamental change in the company, which today finds itself at the head of the mechanized agricultural companies due to the maximum technology applied to its production process and the organization in accordance with the Japanese philosophy “Kaizen” which calls for continual small steps towards improvement.

The concept of this new model comes from the evolution of the Tigre 3200 (for years at the top of all registration ranking in the segment of the Isodiametrics), enriched with technical solutions which increase the professional standard of a super-compact tractor, designed for routines activities in small allotments, parks, gardens, greenhouses or simply for maintenance works.

The new Tigre 3800 is an all-rounder designed to carry out a myriad of activities involved in the management of small allotments, vegetable plots, greenhouses, parks, and gardens. It comes with a 26 HP 3-cylinder Yanmar water-cooling engine that is in compliance with the latest Stage V emission legislation.

It is fitted with a “structured” engine which is defined by excellent and generous torque thanks to its increase in its displacement which makes the engine energetic and high-performing even with low rpms. Despite its compactness, it offers a very spacious and comfortable drive space thanks to its ample drive platform, which is a unique feature in this tractor segment.

The new Tora series

The Tora Series is the fruit of the studies carried out by the AC technicians on the design of medium power professional tractors, characterized by an important hydraulic, mechanical, and comfort upgrade. The conviction is that all agricultural tasks must take into consideration fuel consumption and running costs by always using the “right” tractor with the “right” power for the task in order to obtain maximum efficiency with minimum waste of energy and working time.

The new Tora generation of medium power tractors (52/66 hp) with Stage V is composed of multifunctional models that can be fitted with complex, high technology equipment such as inter-row machines, pruners, and hydraulic equipment for specialized crops. By increasing the hydraulic capacity and connections and by working on the adjustable continual hydraulic flow it was possible to arrive at maximum control of the equipment.

The six models of the Tora series offer different configurations: steering or articulated ACTIO chassis; reversible or monodirectional guide; load sensing hydraulic plant with up to 5 double effect distributors; a joystick and front power lift, as an ancillary device with adjustable arms and quick release couplings.

The easy access to the drive position (devoid of levers on the central tunnel) lays on the drive platform, suspended on silent-blocks, limiting vibrations and protecting the operator from the transmission underneath. The cluster is fitted with a color display, where all data is visualized. The optional Redcab has 4 uprights, is soundproofed and has an air conditioning system. It offers light and visibility in both directions.

The working LED headlights guarantee optimal illumination not just of the equipment but also of all the space around the tractor. It is compact yet comfortable; it has a streamlined profile and a conical shape, useful for the tractor’s disengagement from narrow rows even on lateral slopes.

The Future of agriculture: invest to grow

Recent studies show that investment in agriculture proves to be the real driving force behind the growth and development of agricultural companies, thus increasing productivity and the quality of the products, in the name of sustainability. The most innovative techniques in the latest generation of precision agriculture and agriculture 4.0 require the renewal of the tractor fleet with tractor and equipment up to the challenge.

The latest generation tractors not only reduce the negative impact on the environment, thanks to the new Stage V engines which dramatically cut down CO2 emissions, but also contribute to fuel savings. The Infinity Series represents the tangible response of Antonio Carraro to future agricultural challenges. A range of super-professional reversible tractors with a hydrostatic transmission. It comes in 3 versions, all available with cab, offering high operational comfort, unique compact design, all destined for crops on steep slopes where minimal size is necessary.

All models come with the same 75 HP 4-cylinders Kohler engine: TR with steering chassis, SR with articulated chassis, and TTR with “wide” steering chassis and low center of gravity, destined for crops on steep slopes.

The Infinity transmission, the common denominator of the whole range, allows the tractor to work in both drive directions with the same speeds (each with 3 hydraulic ranges) from 0 15 and from 0-40 km/h, which can be engaged manually or with an automatic gearbox without losing traction. The forward motion pedal assists braking on slopes by stopping the vehicle on release without having to use the brakes.

The Cruise Control (or Tempomat), Limit RPM, Intellifix, Drive Mode, Fast Revers, and the Uniflex suspension allow the operator to always find the right setting in accordance with the type of activity being executed. With the Infinity the clutch is practically only used to start the tractor off and is a safety device in case the tractor must be stopped immediately. The inverter on the electrohydraulic steering wheel is amazingly practical for forward and backward movements, often carried out repeatedly, without jerking.

The brakes are almost never used either, because the accelerator pedal, as well as controlling forward movement, allows for the deceleration and stopping of the tractor: the only accelerator pedal governs the whole transmission.

R, the revolutionary series

At EIMA 20/21 the flagship of the “R” series will be exposed as a whole. With the last versions, the new R Series will go up to seven models, all denoted 10900 (TRX, TRG, TGF, TTR, SRX, Mach 4 e Mach 2), each one with a different configuration: steering, articulated, with a low center of gravity and wide track. All the models are fitted with RGS, reversible drive on a rotating control tower apart from the TGF, the only monodirectional model.

The “R” models are all equipped with a 4-cylinder Common Rail Kubota engine with an electronic running system and 98 HP. The CANbus technology allows the instant connection of the different control units (control panels) using a very small number of connections, giving in this way the possibility to use the engine’s electronic management by simply pushing the dedicated buttons on the dashboard (work memories and acceleration curves included). Thanks to a slightly longer wheelbase, in comparison with the models of the previous generations, the tractor’s weights are perfectly subdivided. The damping system dampens the oscillations of the rear lifter and gives maximum comfort during the transfer with a carried equipment.

The tractors from the R Series can be fitted with Air pressurized cab, save for the Tgf which is equipped with the super-low profile Protector 100 cab – h 1740 mm – super technological and comfortable, which, offers operative well-being, space, and ergonomic controls despite its compact nature necessary to move in and out in narrow places. The pressurized version, having Category 4 certification, guarantees maximum protection end isolation of the operator from harmful inhalation of dust, gas, and fumes, a priority while working with pesticides.

The transmission with 32 speeds (16 + 16), with the optional E-drive, Overspeed, HI-LO devices, is equipped with a standard synchronized inverter, which can be engaged while in movement, and with integral traction with electronic re-engagement control.

The standard Cruise Control (Tempomat) device with double memory of the engine revolutions, useful for maintaining revolutions while working or for changing between different and programmed revolutions whilst in action such as carrying out maneuvers at the edge of the field.

The Multicontroller Joystick, ergonomic and practical, provides the proportional control of the double effect hydraulic outlets, the power lift and floater, the electric control and activation of the continual flow. La PTO has two speeds 540/540E (the synchronized and independent in addition) and, on request, it can come with an engine regime of 540S and 1000, diversified in order to optimize the work carried out by all equipment.

The patented UNIFLEX suspension(opt.) with coaxial cylinders allows the equipment to follow and adapt instantaneously to the exact contours of the land, maintaining constant ground pressure and benefiting the speed and accuracy of the task at hand. The reduction of specific pressure to the ground of the equipment produces greater comfort, less ground compaction, less resistance when pulling or pushing equipment along, and lower fuel consumption.

Concept Tony

The series of AC tractors known as Tony came from the development of a project aimed at guaranteeing the best possible ratio between performance and fuel consumption, regardless of the activity being carried out, with tractors capable of simplifying and speeding up field activities with the goal of lowering operative costs.

It is made up of 5 models with a mechanical-hydrostatic hybrid transmission amongst which the TTR 10900 Tony, an isodiametric with a wide track, and the Tony 8900, the first AC tractor with a conventional chassis, are the latest to have been developed.

The Tony transmission has operative systems that allow for the automatic management of a number of activities in accordance with the type of terrain, equipment being used, and the driving style of the operator.

It offers automatic functions run on the ITAC operative system, such as Cruise Control (or Tempomat) and the Tractor Management Control (TMC), which help the driver’s operations offering the possibility to set different parameters for any type of work. The speed is independent of engine revolutions and so both can be programmed separately. Speed range varies between just 100 m/h to 40 Km/h.

5/A > Tony 10900 TTR: for alpine haying

The new, wide track, 98 hp model with the Tony hydrostatic transmission was designed to operate safely in potentially dangerous situations for a tractor when fitted with a traditional mechanical gearbox. It takes after its “cousin” the TTR 10900 from the Series R with its mechanical transmission. It is isodiametric, reversible with an ACTIO full chassis with oscillation and a low center of gravity, a set-up that guarantees stability when working on steep slopes, ideal for alpine haying.

The new thing about this tractor is its hybrid mechanical-hydrostatic Tony transmission, run electronically by the Tractor Management Control (TMC) System, made up of a hydrostatic unit which activates the mechanical unit with 4 robotic ranges, that can be engaged while loaded, without the clutch, selectable when the tractor is stationary or in movement.

The model can be fitted with a hydraulic top link and left-hand rod along with Uniflex suspension (standard) that allows for greater ground grip, thus reducing the weight of the equipment discharged to the ground and thereby increasing the tractor’s stability.

It is available with a closed cabin, large and comfortable, with a standard air-conditioning system. The access is easy from both doors. The large windows provide 360° all-round visibility. The internal finishing comes also with 2 USB plugs, a 3 pole and unipolar 12 V outlet, radio, LED working headlights. As standard, it comes with the multifunction Joystick. Also new is the passenger seat next to the driver’s seat, homologated for road transfer.

5/B > Tony 8900 V: candidate for the tractor of the year 2021

Candidate for the prestigious Tractor of the Year 2021 award, sets itself apart for its special, innovative features. AC, a world leader in compact isodiametric, proposes its first tractor with a conventional frame designed to further increase its vast offer to its customers in order to provide each one of them with a “Made to Measure” tractor.

The Tony V Kubota (74.3 hp – Turbo Common Rail – Stage V – 4 cylinders – 16 valves) comes with a Tony transmission designed to ease the agricultural operator’s. Developed specifically for very narrow-rowed vineyards, it offers versatility, the precision of use, and practicality. The hydrostatic transmission marries top performance with simplicity of use. The load-sensing pumps and the circuits with the unloading system reduce energy absorption when the tractor’s hydraulic system is not in use.

The tractor’s volume is extremely contained thanks to the compact transmission that provides a width of 98 cm. The drive position is defined by refined elements. It is situated on a spacious platform with solating systems and is soundproofed to a high degree of comfort. The front axle allows a turning circle up to 55°, providing maximum precision during maneuvers.

The optional AIR “V” cab has four uprights to provide constant visibility in all directions. It has Cat.4 pressurization and is ROPS homologated. The automatic air conditioning system is managed from a digital display on the console. The device uses a platform connected to “intelligent” glasses fitted with HoloLens (special interactive lenses), to carry out assistance remotely in all authorized AC workshops around the world.

With this new instrumentation, in addition to removing any distance, it is possible to reduce the need for transport vehicles and therefore fuel consumption and subsequent emissions, thus saving resources in terms of costs and time.

TRX 5800 – The new compact, reversible, professional 50 hp tractor

This is the super compact 50 hp tractor, which comes equipped with reversible driving position, steering, and isodiametric wheels. The equipment on this model is the same that had been envisaged, up until now, for high AC tractors. It is a made to measure professional tractor that is ideal for vineyards and fruit orchards, but which also meets the maintenance requirements of green spaces and urban maintenance. It is agile in confined spaces, thanks to its short wheel base and very tight turning radius, as well as on slopes, where the ACTIOTM chassis and the four-wheel drive can guarantee stability and constant
traction. The gear change is a brilliant 16+16, equipped with a synchro shuttle. The reversible driving position and extreme ergonomic design simplify the work by increasing the efficiency and speed of performance, with a considerable saving in time and consumption. It is capable of carrying a number of multiple implement types, front or rear mounted, capable of ploughing, vineyard strip management, and fruit picking.

Its lifting power is 2,200 kg, sturdier lifting arms, for heavier loads and more demanding work are available on request. In the case of more demanding agricultural and urban requirements, an uprated oil pump for a flow rate of up to 43 l/m is available. The TRX 5800 is also available with a Joystick or lifting with position and draft control.

There is a cutting edge display or cluster. Amongst other things, the PTO revs are shown on the display, as well as its ground speed and working hours. The spacious platform mounted on silent blocks guarantees the transmission is thermally and acoustically isolated from the cab, making it comfortable and capable of absorbing vibration. The suspended pedal board has been designed to eliminate openings in the cab floor, so the operator is protected from any dust ingress. It is available with an air conditioned cab and all the optional features you might wish for.

TGF 10900 R Cab. Protector 100 – A “panther” among the crop rows

One directional, differentiated wheel steering, with a 98 hp Kubota engine, it is the lowest and most compact in the compact tractor category, in the power range of 100 hp. With a pressurised cab, Protector 100, available on request, reaches only 174 cm in height at the apex and, together with its tapered profile, it adapts perfectly to access in vegetation, even the densest, without damaging it.

Furthermore, in the Category 4 certified version, it protects the operator from the ingress of dust, gas and vapours. Created specifically for vineyards and fruit orchards, the TGF is characterised by its extremely contained dimensions and a very tight turning radius, which has been made possible by the smaller front wheels, which provides it with exceptional maneuvering precision. It is perfectly specialised for narrow crop rows, even on slopes, “ Y” fruit orchards, as well as for lower crops, canopied vineyards and greenhouses.

The rear wheels are available in the following measurements, from 18, 20 or 24 inches, on the basis of the operating requirements and land. In spite of the extremely compact sizes available, it provides an operative area and comfort equivalent to traditional tractors. The options available include electronic lifting, double configuration of the chassis, with two different types of gear unit for rear wheels measuring from 20 to 24 inches. Another real innovation introduced by the new TGF 10900R is its extensive, hydraulic availability, up to: 5 double effects, continuous operations regulated by 51 l/min, two returns and a pump with an oil radiator

TRG 10900 R – Multi-function, reversible tractor, with powerful traction

This is a reversible steering tractor (Kubota 4 cyl., 98 hp engine) with larger rear wheels (which increase the traction) and more ground clearance. It is suitable for use in fruit orchards, vineyards, but also in open fields, especially for deep (ploughing) and towing (for use in forestry, construction, etc. ). It combines, like no other tractor, power, stability and compactness, as well as extremely, precise steering, thanks to smaller front wheels. Comfort aboard is guaranteed, with a spacious and comfortable driving position and control
ergonomics, which makes work more comfortable and intuitive. It has no equal on the market: a reversible tractor, powerful but agile, useful in the countryside, as well as for roadworks, during both summer and winter, for clearing snow or cutting the grass over large areas. The gear change is an exceptionally reliable 16+16, equipped with a synchronised reverser.

The TRG 10900 R is available on request with the super technological AIR cab, homologated FOPS, ROPS and pressurised, ready to be certified in Category 4, which guarantees the operator being protected from harmful dust inhalations, gas and vapours.

TONY 10900 TR and SR – Compact steering tractor with constant variable transmission

The Tony Antonio Carraro range, made up of the steering Tony 10900 TR and the articulated SR (98 hp Kubota engine), incorporate the very highest technological content available today in the specialised agricultural mechanisation sector. The continuous hybrid variable transmission is managed by software that allows the agricultural operator to customise his own work, during all its phases, taking into consideration the equipment used and the driving style, in order to optimise and simplify the procedures. Work becomes much more comfortable, thanks to not having to use the clutch, which makes steering much easier.

The Tony SR and TR are two dynamic and versatile compact isodiametric tractors, aimed at precision agriculture (vineyards, fruit orchards and greenhouses), even in the smallest area, on rough ground and on slopes. They have been equipped with a short wheel base and a very tight turning radius, extremely tight in the case of the articulated SR, which permits much more precise steering. They are just the right vehicle to use when working between crop rows, even extremely narrow ones (the SR can be configured with a narrow stack down to 1,060 mm), for crop spraying and all the activities where a constant working speed is required, operations where they provide both an impeccable and homogeneous result, thus avoiding wasting materials or time-work. Thanks to the reversible steering, a large number of equipment types can be assembled on it. The hybrid mechanical hydrostatic transmission has been provided with four electronically-controlled speed ranges, which can be inserted whilst off or in movement, with three acceleration modes for each range and three for range in automotive mode. The software also supplies the tractor’s diagnostics, which are constantly monitored to work at maximum efficiency at all times. In spite of its compact size, considerable on board comfort is guaranteed, with a driving position that is both comfortable as well as being easy to access thanks to a lever-free central tunnel.

The Tonys are available with a cutting edge, pressurised Air cab, even with certification provided in Category 4 which guarantees the operator being protected from harmful dust inhalations, gas and vapours.

INFINITY TR and SR 7600 – The hydrostatic articulated tractor

TR and SR 7600 Infinity (75 hp Kohler engine) represents the latest evolution in the Antonio Carraro hydrostatic tractors with reversible drive, which are ideal for use in vineyards and fruit orchards, but also to take care of green spaces and urban maintenance.
TR is the steering, isodiametric, reverse drive tractor, ideal for use in confined areas, such as in vineyards and in between crop rows in general, even those that are located on slopes, and the articulated SR (which is still isodiametric and comes equipped with a reversible drive); it has a particularly narrow track width, which is useful in providing agility in the accesses between the crop rows, and can be commandeered in very confined areas. The hybrid, mechanical-hydrostatic transmission offers a working speed of between 0.1 and 40 km/h, and by eliminating the use of the clutch, it enormously simplifies the operations requiring tasks which call for frequent and rapid changes in direction, useful, for example, in moving materials (or fruit) between the crop rows. The Infinity functions have all been digitalised. Amongst these, the possibility of choosing between four different driving modes, tractor speed and engine rpm control, on the basis of the demands made. Its use is both intuitive and comfortable for the operator. The control functions of the torque delivered by the PTO, and at the wheels, protect the power take off and the engine, particularly in critical situations. Both modes can be assembled in the Starlight cab, equipped with great visibility and comfort, together with a degree of compactness suitable for the densest crops.

During 2019, the TR 7600 Infinity model received two acknowledgments for technical content and innovation, respectively in the “Innovation Challenge Award” during the Italian trade fair Enovitis in Campo 2019, and the “Technical News Competition” during the Agrilevante 2019 trade fair.

MACH 4 R – The formidable articulated rubber tracked tractor

The articulated tracked tractor with rubber tracks, equipped with reversible drive, represents the flagship of the AC range for its outstanding performances and imposing appearance. It comes equipped with a 4 cyl. 98 hp Kubota engine, and stands out due to its powerful structure and its ability to work under extreme conditions, on slopes and loose earth, where other traditional tractors cannot operate. Mach 4 can work on soaked or muddy ground, guaranteeing minimum ground compaction, a characteristic that enables it to work whatever the weather; consequently, there is no loss of working days, since the tracked tractor can work inside the crop rows, even after rain. The rubber tracks allow the tractor to “float”, while affording increased stability and better grip of the ground, and ensuring plenty of traction, even on slippery soil. The articulated chassis and the oscillating ends ensure the ability to take very tight corners without jamming, in such a way as to avoid the pivot turns typical of traditional tracks, which can damage the headline management system (to be restored later) between the crop rows. Another significant characteristic it possesses, compared to traditional tracked tractors, is the comfort it provides, similar to that of a tractor equipped with normal wheels, as well as being homologated for use on the road at a speed of up to 40 Km/h. Available, on request, with the Air pressurised Cab, and certified in Cat. 1 or 4, where the latter guarantees the operator’s total protection from harmful dust, gas and vapours.
