Superior productivity

The H423 is well-suited for delimbing stems of all diameters. Its outstanding multi-tree harvesting qualities and an excellent power-to-weight ratio take productivity to the next level.

Ideal for thinnings and other fellings where the tree diameter at breast height is 150-350 mm (6-13 in.), the 955 kg (2,105 lb.) H423 features strong, fast feeding in a nimble design.

Additionally, the H423 boasts a 420 mm (16.5 in) tip-to-tip delimbing diameter providing ample range for superior delimbing – and when combined with its 580 mm (22.8 in) cutting capacity and optional multi-tree-handling equipment it is unmatched for productivity in varied diameter stands.

Enhanced reliability and serviceability

Beyond its productivity features, the H423 also hosts a variety of features that make it both reliable and easier to service – extending productive time.

This new model features next generation hose routing from the boom to harvester head and well protected hoses to the feed motors making interference from understory or limbs a thing of the past. Likewise, serviceability to the main valve is easier and possible thanks to a new hinged valve cover and improved access to greasing points.

The Waratah H423 is currently available to customers in Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Asia Pacific, and Latin America.

It is highlighted by a new main control valve designed to increase performance, responsiveness, and compatibility to a greater range of carriers – including WCTL (Wheeled Cut To Length), and smaller, lower-powered carriers having limited flow.

“Boosting productivity and profitability is what the HTH616C Series-III is all about,”

“With a new valve, improved performance, and more uptime, contractors can have confidence in the loads delivered. The new HTH616C Series-III gives more performance from low-powered carriers, and it provides a great option for those with WCTL machines who want a 600 series head.”

Improved performance

With a weight starting at 1800 kg (3,968 lb.), the HTH616C Series-III features a new, more efficient main control valve that can be configured with various options to fit performance needs on wheeled or tracked machines alike. Motor selections can be configured to complement the new valve and improve feeding speed, with a high torque motor option available to help increase productivity in the toughest delimbing conditions.

Operationally, the new valve provides improved responsiveness in the delimb and drive arms to enhance grabbing stems, log handling, and improves sawing performance – reducing processing times. New cast delimb arm design improves limb shedding and can be configured in processing or harvesting profile with a maximum delimb opening of 68.5 cm (27 in.). The H616C Series-III has optional twin diameter sensors that provide better measuring when small end diameters are critical. Additionally, the head features more length measuring arm travel and enhanced measuring arm responsiveness.

Increased uptime

Beyond improved productivity, the HTH616C Series-III also has a variety of features for increased uptime. Hose routing has been optimized to the new valve improving fitting access and easier serviceability, while new optional harvesting guards for the main valve, drive arms, and saw box are available to reduce understory hosing interference. A new and improved valve cover provides quick no-tools access, with integrated handles and quick-attach pins. A larger oiler filler improves the ease of filling bar and chain oil and helps shorten daily servicing.

The Waratah HTH616C Series-III is currently available to customers in Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Asia Pacific, Brazil and Latin America.

“We’ll continue to offer the H415 and H415X models, and the new H415HD will be an additional option for our customers looking for that heavy-duty performer for wheeled harvester applications.”

New Features

To increase durability across the range, the frame on the H415HD as well as the H415 and H415X have been strengthened at several locations based on customer feedback – providing more durability and increased uptime. The H415HD’s base weight is 1401 kg (3,089 lb.), which is 71 kg (157 lb.) more than the standard H415.

Standard features of the H415HD include an HD tilt frame with thicker steel plate, expander pins for upper tilt cylinder, feed roller arms, and lower delimbing knives – to improve pin durability and frame longevity. Additionally, HD feed motor and hose guards help improve durability.

Likewise, to lengthen the service life of the saw bar and alleviate interference in some applications, the H415HD’s saw position was changed to provide more room between the saw bar and stem. All three configurations of the H415 heads now feature the possibility for a wider saw bar and improved saw chain tensioning to reduce chain loss, bar wear and promote more operational productivity.

The models also share a lower saw box height (30 mm / 1 in.) creating lower stump height and more wood recovery. This is complemented by an improved lower delimbing knife profile for larger stem sizes.

Expanded Options

In addition to being featured on the H415HD, select new features of this model can be configured for the H415 and H415X. Some are also compatible with older H415 harvester heads and can be purchased through spare parts sales.
