<h3>Ponsse and Lapland Education Centre REDU today launched an advanced simulation-based learning environment in Rovaniemi, Finland. This also involves the largest simulator deal in Ponsse’s history.</h3>
<p>The simulation learning environment was created through collaboration between <strong>Ponsse</strong> and <strong>REDU</strong>, with Ponsse delivering a total of nine PONSSE simulators. <span style="background-color: #00ff00;">One of the simulators is a “Basic” model simulator, three are “Full” model simulators and five are new “Multi” simulators</span>. The Education Centre is now equipped with a total of 11 PONSSE simulators. Students use the equipment in different stages of their learning path from basic studies to the most advanced assignments.</p>
<blockquote><p>“The new equipment enables more students to be trained at the same time. Simulator training effectively supports forest machine education and provides a good basis for work before students start operating an actual machine,&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>says <strong>Ilkka Rantahalvari</strong>, <strong>lecturer at Lapland Education Centre REDU</strong>.</p>

<h3>A new virtual world takes studying to a new level</h3>
<p>Ponsse’s simulators are equipped with a new virtual world that takes studying with simulators to a whole new level. In addition to the virtual world, new features include a diagnostic tool for training maintenance personnel and head tracking technology for those who cannot use the virtual reality (VR) feature.</p>
<p>Lapland Education Centre REDU has an ongoing MESOT investment project for forest machine simulation, learning and research environment development. The purpose of the project is to strengthen forest machine training in Lapland with the help of learning environments and various learning methods. The collaboration between Ponsse and REDU contributes to the implementation of the project in a significant way.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The <strong>Regina Exhibition Association Limited</strong> (<strong>REAL</strong>) and <strong>Canada’s Farm Show</strong> advisory board share the return of <strong>Canada’s Farm Show in 2021</strong>, moving to a <strong>virtual platform</strong>.</p>
<blockquote><p>“Last year was a difficult year for everyone, globally. We saw a number of our events get cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, one of them being Canada’s Farm Show. This year, after seeing the way so many in our industry, including ourselves, having to adjust to this new normal, the advisory committee decided we could go ahead with Canada’s Farm Show in an adjusted capacity, recognizing the show’s importance within the Ag industry.”</p></blockquote>
<p>said <strong>Tim Reid, president and CEO of REAL</strong>.</p>
<p>The two-day virtual event will take place on June 16th and 17th and has a stacked line-up of speakers and panels. The first day will focus on one of the show’s pillars, Innovation, and the state of the industry, while the second day will revolve around International Trade and Export. Both days will be filled with panels, keynotes, innovations showcase and the Ag Tech Challenge. The two-day event is free for all those who register.</p>
<p>The list of scheduled speakers includes former Prime Minister, the Right Honourable, Stephen Harper, Saskatchewan’s 14th Premier, Brad Wall, financier and author, <strong>Lord Conrad Black</strong> and agrologist, agriculture consultant and entrepreneur, Robert Saik.</p>
<blockquote><p>“Canada’s Farm Show is adjusting to the ways of the world we’re in right now. It was important to adapt and make the necessary changes to ensure we could still be a place for industry players to connect, a forum for meaningful dialogue and a showcase for innovation.”</p></blockquote>
<p>said <strong>Jeff Cockwill, Canada’s Farm Show Advisory Committee Chair</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>Minister of Agriculture, Honourable David Marit</strong> will also be a speaker at the event discussing the role of Agriculture in COVID recovery.</p>
<blockquote><p>“Canada’s Farm Show is an important part of our agriculture community and we look forward to the show each year. Our province’s agriculture industry has found new safe ways to connect and adapt over the last year and I’m pleased to see Canada’s Farm Show do the same. This year’s virtual show is an opportunity for producers and businesses to learn about industry advancements and opportunities.”</p></blockquote>
<p><strong>Saskatchewan Agriculture Minister David Marit</strong> said.</p>
<p>Panel discussion topics will vary from a President&#8217;s Panel, Manufacturers Discussion, Mental Health, Exporting Panel, Western Canadian Technologies for Export and more.</p>
<blockquote><p>“Canada’s Farm Show provides an important connection between the agri-business industry and the agricultural community, both of which are essential to our City’s economy. Safety remains everyone’s first priority. Taking Canada’s Farm Show into the virtual space is an innovative step that will allow this event to proceed safely and successfully.”</p></blockquote>

Access Your World’ is a unique, customer-focused virtual experience that allows visitors to explore and consume information about JLG products, services, and technologies, however and wherever they prefer,”</p></blockquote>
<p>says <strong>Jennifer Stiansen</strong>, <strong>director of marketing</strong>, <strong>JLG</strong>.</p>
<p>In addition to featuring virtual job sites, the “<strong>Access Your World</strong>” event offers equipment owners and end-users the opportunity to view virtual walk-around videos, download product information and apps, view 3D hydraulic schematics, order parts, sign up for training, schedule meetings and ask questions of JLG experts, offering a healthy mix of virtual and “person-to-person” interaction.</p>
<p><span style="background-color: #00ff00;">Experience participants can also access resources, such as JLG’s #DirectAccess, JLG Financial, JLG Gear, and the JLG dealer locator, from within the environment.  </span></p>
<p>This highly interactive and dynamic experience will evolve over the next six months to include additional job sites that feature a variety of products and content for users to explore.</p>

<p>The online showroom leverages the layout of AGCO’s Intivity Center facility, the company’s sprawling Jackson, MN assembly plant, and corporate museum, which provides guided tours and learning opportunities to the public in times not impacted by the virus. <span style="background-color: #008000;">Virtual visitors can use intuitive gestures to explore the facility, see 360-degree views of equipment, watch product videos, download brochures, submit requests, and even visit the company merchandise store</span>.</p>
<p><strong>Aaron Belanger</strong>, <strong>farm show manager</strong>, said:</p>
<blockquote><p>“The best thing about this format is not being limited by space, location, travel concerns or even the weather. Logistical concerns simply don’t exist here: this virtual showroom will hold every product we manufacture and allow anyone to explore them at any time, on any day.”</p></blockquote>
<p>Dejmal adds that the current virtual showroom is only in its first iteration:</p>
<blockquote><p>“We have many more capabilities planned and we’ll continue adding more brands, more products, and more features to the experience. We’ve really only scratched the surface, so we encourage viewers to check back frequently and discover the newest features and enjoy what’s still to come.”</p>

<p>In-person ride and drives have been a staple experience at AGCO events and dealerships for many years to allow potential customers to obtain operational experiences with advanced agricultural equipment. <span style="background-color: #008000;">The new virtual ride and drives ensure that customers can observe much of what they always have at live events in an even more convenient setting</span>.</p>

<p><span style="background-color: #008000;">The <strong>RoGator Virtual Ride and Drive</strong> allows users to observe the RoGator C Series’ popular LiquidLogic<strong><sup> </sup></strong>system, one-touch fold, recirculation feature, section and boom height controls, and instant on/off nozzle capabilities</span>. Drivers will also be able to examine the Raven last pass and VSN visual guidance system as they appear on the cab’s display.</p>
<p><span style="background-color: #008000;">The <strong>TerraGator Virtual Ride and Drive</strong> showcase the TerraGator C Series’ precision and versatility as the equipment efficiently cover many acres of crops</span>. Users will witness the unit’s multiple cruise speeds, the boom’s fast and easy unfold process, shuttle shift capability, and intuitive technology interfaces. Also demonstrated is TerraGator’s Raven Slingshot functionality, which allows operators to create jobs, select prescriptions, and maps, and update the system with completed tasks.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h3><b> </b><strong>DTNA</strong>’s annual Technician Skills Competition – which recognizes and rewards top-performing service technicians – reflects the hands-on nature of the work. This year’s competition features new virtual elements due to the circumstances brought on by the pandemic.</h3>
<p>As it has every year, the competition began with a written exam in early June with more than 1000 test taken by technicians from Freightliner and Western Star dealerships and Detroit distributors in the U.S. and Canada. <span style="background-color: #008000;">The 28 top-scoring vehicle and engine technicians will then compete in a “virtual” hands-on competition August 11-12.</span> Unlike in previous years, when technicians traveled to <strong>DTNA</strong> headquarters in Portland to compete, the finalists this year will be tested at their dealership. Using computers and video, the judges will walk the technicians through different stations where they’ll be evaluated on how quickly they can troubleshoot problems. The best vehicle and engine technicians will be awarded on August 13 in a virtual ceremony.</p>
<blockquote class="td_quote_box td_box_center"><p>“The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have made us more aware than ever of the importance and indispensability of our technicians and service network. As our vehicles become increasingly complex, it is critical that we support the development and innovation of our technicians so that they can be on the cutting edge. Technicians truly drive the Uptime Revolution for our customers, and they are a big part of why DTNA leads the industry.”</p></blockquote>
<p>said <strong>Admir Kreso, general manager for Dealer Service with DTNA</strong>.</p>
<p>With a service network spanning the U.S. and Canada, <span style="background-color: #008000;"><strong>DTNA</strong> and its affiliated service locations invest more than $20 million in technician training and development annually.</span> Some programs and initiatives include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Get Ahead Program is a partnership between DTNA, technical schools, and DTNA service network locations that provides students free access to web-based training materials, service literature, and diagnostic link licenses.</li>
<li>Finish First is a 12-week, hands-on training program offered at select Universal Technical Institute campuses. Students earn certifications for Freightliner and Western Star trucks and Detroit engines. Students can also apply for scholarships to the Finish First program through DTNA’s TechForce Foundation. More than 1,300 students have graduated from the program since it was founded in 2008.</li>
<li>MasterTech Recognition Program recognizes and rewards technicians who go above and beyond in the pursuit of providing an unsurpassed customer experience.</li>
<li>Be Pro Be Proud is a Freightliner-sponsored initiative in Arkansas which interests students, parents and educators in technical professionals in the manufacturing, trucking and construction industries.</li>
</ul>
