Väderstad introduce the new product family Inspire, focused on bringing excellent seeding results to the 12-meter seed drill segment. Then new Väderstad Inspire 1200C/S is designed to combine high capacity with an exact seeding precision.

“The new seed drill Väderstad Inspire 1200C/S is aimed at farmers with high-capacity needs. It’s compact both in the field and in transport and the combi version Inspire 1200C has one of the largest hoppers in its class,”

says Björn Jeansson, Commercial Product Manager at Väderstad.

The heart of Inspire is its responsive double-disc seed colter system. It has an excellent ability to adapt to any irregularities on the field, thereby always keeping the seeding depth constant. The result is an impressive seed placement and an even emergence over the entire field.

Inspire 1200C/S will be available in two different models – Inspire the 1200S and Inspire 1200C. The seed-only version Inspire 1200S is equipped with a 5000-liter hopper for seeds. While the combi version Inspire 1200C has a 7200-liter hopper holding both seeds and fertilizer in two separate compartments. When leaving the Inspire 1200C hopper, the seed and fertilizer are mixed into the same airstream and placed together into the soil.

A key feature of Inspire 1200C/S is its ability to control the seeding output in eight separate sections. To ensure a constant and even product flow from the large hopper to the seed colters, the seeds and fertilizer are metered out with high output precision from the large hopper via 8 Fenix III metering units.

“Inspire 1200C/S is able to control the output in eight separate sections. This means that Inspire 1200C/S can conduct a variable rate as well as sectional control down to 1.5m sections. This is a unique precision feature in the 12-meter seed drill segment,”

When in the field the seeding operation is easily controlled via the iPad-based control system Väderstad E-Control, which is also possible to connect with an ISOBUS task control system.

Väderstad Inspire 1200C/S will have its premiere at the international tradeshow Agritechnica in February 2022. The machine will be available from the end of 2022.

Väderstad, one of the world’s leading companies in tillage, seeding and planting, introduces the new Tempo L 16-24 Central Fill. By handling both seed and fertilizer in a bulk system, the capacity of the world-record planter is increased even further.

The high-speed precision planter Väderstad Tempo L holds the world record for plating 502.05 hectares of maize in 24 hours, a record set in Hungary in 2017.

Now the Tempo L family is growing and the new Tempo L Central Fill with a central hopper for both seed and fertilizer is introduced, says Mattias Hovnert, Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing, and adds:

“The Central Fill functionality means that instead of filling seed in each of the row units, the farmer will only have to fill one large central hopper. The Tempo planter will then take care of the distribution of the seeds and fertilizer to each row unit – all this at world-record planting speed and precision.”

With the Central Fill function, the farmer will be able to achieve even more in a day’s work, thereby increasing productivity and capacity even further.

The new Tempo L Central Fill will be available with either 16 or 24 rows, which allows for row spacing alternatives from 450 to 762mm, depending on the model. To match the high-capacity output, the machine is equipped with a new hopper that holds 2 200 liters of seeds and 5 000 liters of fertilizer, making a total of 7 200 liters.

“The new hopper on the Tempo L Central Fill is equipped with two fans in the front, ensuring high-capacity metering of both seed and fertilizer. The technology behind the Central Fill system is very intuitive. There is no central motor metering out seeds – instead each row unit regulates the number of seeds needed to assist its individual high-precision PowerShoot seed metering system,”

The new Tempo L 16-24 with Central Fill will have its premiere at the international tradeshow Agritechnica in February 2022. The machine will be available from the end of 2022.

Väderstad adds the new Spirit 600C InLine to its wide seed drill segment from October 2021. The InLine-version of Spirit places a low fertiliser rate together with the seed in the seed furrow, providing the plant quick nutrient uptake.

The InLine system allows the fertilizer to be placed in the same row as the seed. This gives the seed a quick boost directly after drilling, shortening the time of emergence. The InLine system is highly beneficial when working with moderate levels of fertilizers, says Magnus Samuelsson, Concept Developer, at Väderstad.

Spirit 600C InLine allows for a high capacity, high precision solution.

Spirit 600C InLine is equipped with a separated airflow where the fertilizer is distributed apart from the seed. This prevents the sorting of inputs in the system and is of most importance when the sizes and weights of the kernels are different. The intensity of the airflow is easily adjusted, ensuring that both the seeds and fertilizer are placed with optimal precision, says Magnus Samuelsson,

The fertilizer is metered with the Fenix electric metering system, this is the same unit used for the seed metering. It is both highly precise and non-corrosive. Split cells in the rotor and an angled exit from the metering unit efficiently prevents any pulsing, ensuring that all plants will have the exact same access to fertilizer.

Väderstad’s unique MixIn shin come equipped on all Väderstad tine cultivators, and drastically extends the mixing action of the machine. A true Väderstad innovation, the MixIn shin throws the material forwards instead of upwards, which forces the material to pass the tine twice – thus doubling the mixing intensity both in depth and lengthwise.

”The MixIn shin creates a forward moment of the soil that provides an intense lengthwise distribution of the crop residues. It also transports more soil in the driving direction and levels uneven parts of the field, such as wheel tracks, reducing the need for additional levelling passes which saves the farmer both time and fuel,”

The new conical MixIn shape, which is new for model year 2021, provides additional benefits for the farmer. The wider top of the shin increases mixing intensity and improves the lengthwise distribution of residues even further.

”With 50mm in the bottom and 80mm at the top, or 80mm bottom and a 120mm top, it also provides improved crumbling of clods in heavier soils. The new MixIn shin is another step in our pursuit to provide farmers with the best conöditions for an outstanding emergences,”

In 2021, Väderstad takes the next step for the high-speed Tempo planter by introducing a new model to the Tempo L family. The all-new Tempo L 32 will be the largest Tempo planter to date.

The new Väderstad Tempo L 32 is equipped with 32-row units and an 85 bu (3 000-liter) seed hopper.

Tempo L 32 will be introduced in row spacings of 15″ (375 mm), and Central Seed Fill will be standard. To manage the narrower row spacings, we have made an offset of every second-row unit. We also made a narrower row cleaner angle and a narrower gauge wheel, says Jörgen Dahl, Commercial Product Manager Planters, at Väderstad.

While the Tempo L 32 increases capacity, it still maintains the high precision that has made Väderstad’s Tempo family a favorite among farmers all over the world. For a wide range of crops, the number of row units planting can easily be adjusted to increase the number of uses even more.

By raising half of the machine hydraulically, you can lock them in an upper position and continue to plant with only half of the row units. This makes it possible to for example plant Canola or soybeans with 32 rows on a 15″ (375 mm) row spacing, and then changing for corn on 16 rows with 30″ (750 mm) row spacing, says Jörgen Dahl.

Seed Hawk combination

FIn Canada, there is a possibility to attach the Tempo L 32 to a Seed Hawk 660 Air Cart. The Seed Hawk 660 Air Cart is able to hold up to 660 bu (23 000 liters) of fertilizer in 4 tanks with a split of 40+160+160+300 bushels.

The Tempo L 32 and Seed Hawk 660 combination will provide enormous capacity and planting precision to the vast fields of the Canadian prairies. The fertilizer can be applied in two different ways – either 2.75″ (7 cm) beside the seed furrow, or together with the seed in the seed furrow, says Jörgen Dahl.

On all other markets, Tempo L 32 will be available as a seed-only version. The new Tempo L 32 will be available from June 2021.
