Trelleborg’s TM1000 ProgressiveTraction Nominated Best Agricultural Tire for 2020 by NMR Magazine

The TM1000 ProgressiveTraction tire from Trelleborg Wheel Systems has been nominated “Best Agricultural Tire for 2020” by the Spanish magazine, “NMR – Neumáticos y Mecánica Rápida”, which specializes in tires and is geared towards professionals in the sector.

Seventy-nine candidates in eight categories are contenders in this contest that awards outstanding achievements in key sectors. With this nomination, the TM1000 ProgressiveTraction is being recognized for its superior technology and performance as well as its contribution to the agricultural sector in terms of innovation, performance and reduced environmental impact.

The highly successful, multi-award-winning ProgressiveTraction technology releases additional power to the ground and reduces stress on the soil while boosting the machine’s performance on the road.

The ProgressiveTraction® tread was designed to meet the requirements of the latest generation of machinery, increasing power transmission efficiency to the ground while reducing soil compaction. At the same time, the double-edge-lug tread design was developed to reduce vibration, lowering energy dissipation, minimizing fuel consumption and at the same time extending service life. In fact, tests show that ProgressiveTraction® reduces fuel consumption by up to 3% and extends tire service life by up to 5%.

Trelleborg acquires Italian distributor of agricultural tires

Trelleborg has, through its Trelleborg Wheel Systems business area, signed agreements and finalized the acquisitions of Provana Solutions srl and Provana Quality Center srl. Provana Solutions specializes in the distribution and service of tires and complete wheels to tractor dealers and farmers in Italy. Provana Quality Center provides testing of various tire solutions to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of agricultural machinery. The acquisitions will enable the development of the business area’s service concept for agricultural tires in Europe.

The companies are owned by members of the Provana family and have their head offices in Izano in northern Italy. The companies’ sales totaled approximately SEK 58 M in 2018. These bolt-on acquisitions are part of Trelleborg’s strategy to strengthen its positions in attractive market segments.

Using the foundation provided by the company, we can extend the concept for tire services in the aftermarket for agricultural tires in Europe. The transaction strengthens us at the end stage of the value chain. We have extensive experience of service and distribution of industrial tires through the Interfit concept, but we now also have an opportunity to broaden our service offering in the aftermarket in agricultural tires,” says Paolo Pompei, President of the Trelleborg Wheel Systems business area.

The transaction will be consolidated as of March 15, 2019.
