Climatic conditions are changing more and more rapidly and, due to legal requirements of the Fertilizer Ordinance, the time windows for the application of liquid farm manure are becoming shorter and shorter. Nowadays, almost all application tankers are equipped with technology for slurry application close to the ground to best reduce emissions and avoid nitrogen losses. Likewise, they have wide tires that are gentle on the ground.

So in a nutshell, perfect and coordinated equipment for the field. To ensure that the highly equipped application tanker does not lose too much time, impact power, and thus money on the road in the case of longer farm-to-field distances, the slurry transport must be decoupled.

For this purpose, Fliegl offers the perfect vehicle for your slurry logistics with its new three-axle semi-trailer transport barrel STF 30000 Truck Line Top. Due to the special tank and chassis design, an unladen weight of approx. 5,900 kg can be achieved with high-standard equipment at the same time!

Due to the low dead weight, a volume of 30,000 liters can be transported in the stainless steel tank, while complying with the permissible total mass (depending on the tractor). The special tank design and the frame made of fine-grained steel contribute to the center of gravity that is shifted far down. Thanks to the stainless steel tank with an additional paint finish on the outside, a very long service life can be guaranteed.

Important with a transport tanker is on the one hand the driving and operating comfort, but also the maneuverability on the farm and in the field. The air suspension unit with disc brakes ensures high driving comfort and is equipped with an automatically lockable steering axle and a lift axle as standard. Less wear – more maneuverability!

To ensure that the saddle transport tanker does not lose unnecessary time during loading and unloading, various equipment variants are offered for this purpose. Externally, the tanker can be filled via the large-dimensioned 700 x 700 mm push cover. The filling of the application drum can be done via an 8″ or 10″ docking hopper at the top or via a suction quick coupler at the bottom at the rear.

Of course, the tanker can also fill itself; for this purpose, a powerful 6,000 L Vogelsang rotary lobe pump with a 180° swiveling 6″ quick-coupler connection at the rear is available as an option.

The fill level can always be conveniently checked via the display at the front and rear of the container. In the version with the pump, a fill level monitor and an automatic pump shutoff are integrated for safety.

A swiveling 6″ overloading arm with a length of 7,000mm is optionally available for overloading onto a spreading tanker, a field edge container, or for slurry transfer. This length means that even wide ditches can be negotiated, which is an important plus point, especially on dirt roads. The transfer arm is controlled via an external operation or via an optional radio remote control.

To ensure that the liquid fertilizer is still homogeneous at its destination, a hydraulic internal agitator or a flushing line is offered in conjunction with the rotary lobe pump.

The tanker offers many more exciting equipment options, but it’s best to see for yourself because this barrel with its wide range of options is sure to suit your business.

For the model year 2022, John Deere has redesigned its most popular 2430C Nutrient Applicator, the 25-row model, giving customers what they’ve asked for with a new lower transport height while continuing to provide greater precision and control of nutrient placement at high operating speeds.

Two sizes of 2430C applicators are available – the 19-knife toolbar with a 47-foot working width, and the redesigned 25-knife configuration with reduced transport height and 62-foot working width. Both come standard on 30-inch spacings with Tru-Depth heavy-duty cast standards and TruSet depth control. Coulters, a variety of knives, and closing disk options are available for both models.

With a reduced transport height of 14 feet, the 62-foot wide 2430C is 2.5 feet lower than previous models, making it easier to transport under bridges and power lines when moving from field to field.

“The new 2430C Nutrient Applicator is a rugged, highly productive tool for ag service providers and farmers to accurately apply anhydrous ammonia across more acres more quickly while minimizing outgassing. With the 62-foot- or 47-foot-wide model, customers can select the right size to best fit their operation and nitrogen application needs,”

said Ryan Jardon, product marketing manager for John Deere.

Existing John Deere customers may notice the placement of the outer wings has changed to allow for maximum working widths and the low transport height. All 2430C models feature a floating hitch for uniform depth control across the entire working width and outside-mounted float tires to maximize flotation. The shanks can place nutrients deep if needed or shallower if not, all easily controlled in the cab with TruSet and seal the soil helping to minimize nutrient loss.

“TruSet depth control and documentation capabilities on these tools are other unique features ag service providers and farmers will find useful. These tools provide customers with the complete package of durability, precision, control, documentation, and performance they want when trying to cover as many acres as possible under tough field conditions and tight application windows,”

says Jardon.

The 19- and 25-knife 2430C Nutrient Applicators will be available to order this winter with delivery starting in 2022.

Aceinna & PointOne partner to create the industry’s most affordable, highly accurate (1 centimeter), and easy to use positioning solution for autonomous vehicles

Aceinna announced a partnership with Point One Navigation, a leader delivering precise positioning for the next generation of transportation. The strategic partnership enables a streamlined positioning platform that combines Point One’s Polaris GNSS cloud correction service with Aceinna’s OpenRTK330 hardware and software solution for developers in agriculture, construction, mapping, surveying, robotics, and trucking.

The GNSS correction service market shows great promise yet is presently hampered by some lingering problems. These include the nuisance of managing separate commercial/support relationships for hardware and subscriptions, difficulty integrating solutions between such providers, lack of consistency in resulting accuracy compared with what is advertised, resistance to supporting all application sizes from single unit to high volume, the absence of a coast-to-coast network from a single provider, and stubbornly high pricing for the service in general.

Aceinna and Point One are solving these problems by delivering the most reliable, turn-key, and affordable GNSS correction solution on the market. Customers will be able to purchase the fully integrated hardware and streaming service directly from Aceinna and its distribution partners versus seeking out a provider on their own. Activation and authentication will be streamlined thanks to extensive backend server synchronization between Aceinna and Point One. True centimeter-level accuracy will be attainable and powered by the integration of Point One’s coast-to-coast Polaris network and Aceinna’s OpenRTK platform. Finally, aggressive pricing will be offered to support all deployment levels, from a single unit and up to a large scale. The combined offering will be available for purchase beginning in December 2020.

“This partnership between Aceinna and Point One harnesses and combines each of our distinct strengths, to offer a solution platform that makes high-performance positioning accessible to a variety of industries and applications. We are thrilled to work with Point One’s technical expertise and execution to advance this technology to the next level of precision,”

said Dr. Yang Zhao, Chairman, and CEO of Aceinna.

“Point One’s Polaris is a highly adaptable network that provides critical data for a myriad of precise positioning and autonomous applications. We are excited to be working with an industry leader such as Aceinna and the use of OpenRTK330 satisfies a market need for precise yet affordable corrections-based guidance and navigation systems.”

said Aaron Nathan, CEO, and Co-Founder at Point One.

OpenRTK330 is a state-of-the-art, high-performance GNSS receiver with a built-in RTK engine and triple-redundant inertial sensors. It is designed for use in Level 3 ADAS and other high-volume applications requiring precise position information. It includes a multi-band RTK/GNSS receiver coupled with redundant inertial sensor arrays to provide cm-level accuracy, enhanced reliability, and superior performance during GNSS outages. The dead reckoning solution delivers a strong performance in GNSS challenged urban environments. OpenRTK300 is supported by Aceinna’s open-source toolchain which enables direct customization of the on-board algorithms, I/O, and communication stack on the device

Point One’s Polaris network is a proprietary GNSS correction network built from the ground up for the needs of modern automotive and robotics customers. Polaris uses the latest in base station technology including advanced anti-jam, interference mitigation, security, and integrity monitoring. Its powerful cloud-based correction architecture allows for GNSS corrections in RTK or SSR configuration. Its open-source interfaces demonstrate compatibility with receivers and chipsets from leading providers. The service is also compatible with any NTRIP/RTCM3 compliant receiver.

Steps towards achieving this goal include completing a reverse merger with VectoIQ and a related PIPE offering, providing an additional $616.7 million of cash on the balance sheet to support Nikola’s further product development, and the buildout of manufacturing infrastructure.

Product development is on track to meet the established timeline for the start of production of the Nikola Tre in Q4 2021. Initial units will be produced at the Ulm, Germany facility, where modifications are currently underway. Once complete, this facility will be capable of producing up to 10,000 units per year.

In addition to the buildout of Nikola’s production capacity in Ulm, Germany, on July 23, 2020, Nikola broke ground on its greenfield manufacturing facility in Coolidge, Arizona. Once completed, the Coolidge manufacturing facility will be capable of producing up to 35,000 trucks per year at full capacity on two shifts. Phase one of this construction is expected to be complete by Q4 2021.

JCB has been awarded a contract to supply the U.S. military with a fleet of specialised high speed excavators over the next eight years in a deal worth up to $269 million (£217 million).

The deal centres on the supply of High Mobility Engineer Excavators (HMEEs) for the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps.

Prototypes of the machine – capable of speeds up to 55mph (88kph) – were first developed in 2002 specifically for the U.S. Army to meet its demand for a high-speed backhoe loader capable of undertaking military engineering tasks. In 2005, JCB was subsequently awarded a contract worth around $209 million, along with an additional service contract valued at around $20 million. Subsequent contract extensions and international sales have seen HMEE production for the U.S. and allied nations rise to 1,200 machines.

Today it was confirmed that a new contract has been signed for the supply of up to 400 HMEEs which will all be manufactured at JCB’s North American headquarters in Savannah, Georgia. In addition to the base unarmoured HMEE, JCB will also provide armoured variants as well as attachments and service support.

“When it was developed, the HMEE revolutionised the way military tasks were carried out and we are delighted that the U.S. military has shown great faith in the product by placing this new order.”

Graeme Macdonald | JCB CEO.

JCB Inc President and CEO Richard Fox-Marrs added:

“To win this eight year contract is fantastic news for JCB’s North America Headquarters, which has been manufacturing HMEEs here for the past 13 years. The U.S. military has shown tremendous confidence in this JCB product which speaks volumes for the team behind its design, engineering, manufacturing and after sales support.”

The HMEE combines the capabilities of the world-renowned JCB backhoe loader and the innovative high-speed JCB Fastrac – the world’s fastest tractor, which has full suspension and anti-lock brakes. The objective of the HMEE concept is to have a machine capable of travelling at military convoy speed without the need for transportation by a truck and low-loader trailer.

Chris Giorgianni, Vice President of Government and Defense at JCB North America, said:

“The JCB Government and Defense team is proud to continue to support the U.S. military through the extension of the HMEE programme. The fact that the U.S. military has entrusted JCB to manufacture the HMEE for over a decade is a testament to the work the entire team here has accomplished. We look forward to furthering the HMEE programme and working with the U.S. military on future projects.”

The 17.5 tonne, 6.7 litre engine machines are well suited to a range of military and disaster relief missions, including earthmoving, fortification construction and ground clearing. In addition to its top speed of 55mph (88kph), the HMEE is certified for military transport on ships, rail and aircraft, and for airdrop operations. It is available in various configurations including an armoured specification. It is four-wheel drive, four-wheel steer, can lift more than two tonnes and dig to a depth of almost four metres.
