Marking a milestone in ag-tech history, High-Speed ISOBUS (HSI) was demonstrated for the first time by the Agricultural Industry Electronics Foundation (AEF) at its North American 2022 Plugfest during the Commodity Classic trade show in New Orleans. With greater bandwidth and faster connection speed, roughly 4,000 times faster than the original technology, HSI will open new opportunities for innovation and serve the industry far into the future, as even more performance and automation are demanded.

The team demonstrated the new HSI network with digital cameras and monitors, as well as an implement and an existing tractor display.

Originally unveiled 20 years ago, ISOBUS refers to the ISO 11783 standard “nervous system” of agricultural equipment that seamlessly connects tractors to implements and aftermarket options such as displays and joysticks, etc. With ISOBUS, machines work together as a system better than each component can work on its own. The current ISOBUS delivers enough performance for today’s applications while allowing precision ag software engineers to design HSI for the future.

Examples of future technologies using HSI will include higher performance command and control at the row-level on a large planter or for the individual nozzles on a sprayer; higher performance of User Interface to see the exact state of every row in real-time, whereas today the operator may see screen updates that are somewhat lagging; remote process viewing with more advanced digital cameras replacing the analog of yesteryear, easily integrated into an HSI system; enabling higher levels of automation; improving diagnostics and faster software updates; connectivity to other in-field machines using AEF Wireless Infield Communications, and more.

AEF’s annual Plugfest is co-located this year at the Commodity Classic in New Orleans, providing an opportunity for ag equipment software engineers from all over the world to test the compatibility of their ISOBUS products, putting aside competition and working together for the good of the agricultural industry. At the end of the event, attendees will have new data and a deep understanding of how to improve their products.

This furrow press comes with hydraulically adjustable steering sensitivity for working in hilly terrain or with GPS-controlled tractors. This enables precise, reliable pass alignment. The true-tracking performance of this furrow press reduces driver strain, as there is no need to counter-steer in difficult conditions.

The VarioPack steering is preloaded mechanically or optionally via a hydraulic cylinder with a nitrogen accumulator. This allows the pressure to be adjusted so that the furrow press, which is adapted to the current working conditions, is safely and reliably returned to its central position and ensures precise pass alignment. This is particularly important when working on slopes or if you want to prevent movement caused by a delayed response to the steering movements of a GPS-controlled tractor.

Lemken has retained the time-tested hubless furrow press design. The first models to be released from mid-2022 onwards will be a rigid version with working widths of 2.50 to 4 metres and a ring diameter of 90 centimetres, and a folding version with a ring diameter of 70 or 90 centimetres and working widths between 4 and 6 metres.

GK Shade Trailers are in compliance with new Oregon workplace regulations for extreme heat. The trailers offer excellent worker protection for the prevention of heat illness and stress. The folding shade top collapses for transport to travel from location to location. The deluxe trailer provides seating for up to 8 people, has a built-in garbage can, wood decking, and standard 2” ball hitch. It’s designed for commercial nursery and tree grower customers and has the size and weight capacity needed for their larger transportation needs. Enhanced Mobile App User Interface

With the latest update to the MyPLM Connect Farm app, users have access to a wealth of field information when they select a map from the main map screen. With just a few taps, users can now view field-specific data, such as activity layers, scouting observations, and soil zone data. Field- and vehicle-specific data is more accessible than ever, with complete field and vehicle lists visible alongside the map. This allows users to switch between a map screen, a field list, and a vehicle list quickly and efficiently.

Prescription Creation

Maximize the all-new prescription creation tool. This will allow equipment settings to be customized to match conditions in different areas of the field while on the go. Producers can save fuel, conserve soil and appropriately tailor machine agronomic output throughout the field to the crop.

Large Square Baler Support

Users of large square balers will now see data import and display activity layers in MyPLM Connect Farm. Additionally, users can now select the specific bale drop location. Once selected, a pin will show the location of each bale within the field. The user can view individual bales and specific details by clicking on the pin for the given bale. Displayed information for each bale includes wet/dry weight, moisture percentage, density, capacity, and flakes per bale.
