]]> Power Equipment Company, which has been distributing construction equipment in the Rocky Mountains region since 1936 and is a long-time member of the Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) dealer network, is expanding its footprint in the Southwest with the acquisition of Golden Equipment Company.

The company closed an agreement to purchase the name and assets of Golden Equipment, including three dealer branches in Durango, CO, and Farmington and Albuquerque, NM. The transferring territory includes the northern half of New Mexico as well as several adjacent counties in the southwest corner of Colorado and San Juan County in the southeast corner of Utah.

Power Equipment Company has 85 years of experience with heavy-duty construction equipment and a strong reputation for providing exceptional product support. The company has represented Volvo CE since 1985.

Power Equipment Company has long served as the Volvo equipment dealer for much of Colorado (lighter green) and is now adding the rest of the state and areas of New Mexico and Utah to its territory (darker green).

“Power Equipment Company is an experienced partner with a strong reputation in the region. Power Equipment will use its existing footprint and resources to provide an increase in service technicians and parts and equipment availability. Volvo CE customers can expect the same high-caliber support they have received from Golden Equipment,”

said Stephen Roy, President of Region North America, Volvo CE.

Golden Equipment Company employees will transition to the new company with the acquisition, giving existing customers a high degree of continuity and further strengthening the Power Equipment Company team.

“We are excited to expand the reach of our Volvo territory. Golden Equipment customers will benefit from the resources of Power Equipment’s fleet and expansive parts inventory, supported by a highly-skilled parts and service team,”

said Will Ricketts, President, Power Equipment Company.

Albuquerque-based Golden Equipment Company has been part of the Volvo CE dealer network for 30 years.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Volvo in New Mexico since 1991. It’s been an incredible 30-year journey, and I’ve truly enjoyed working with the Golden team to serve our great customers in New Mexico and the Four Corners. I’ll miss it, but I’m confident they are in good hands,”

said Bill Golden, President, Golden Equipment Company.

]]> The dealership will soon offer more CLAAS products and an expanded facility under the name GJ’s Harvest Centre Inc.

Claas dealership GJ’s Farm Equipment has announced several changes to their southwest Ontario location. The full service dealership will be changing their name to “GJ’s Harvest Centre Inc.” and will expand their Claas business focus. To accommodate the growth targets, GJ’s will nearly double in size — adding an additional 7,500 square feet to the current facility­.

Gary Klyn, founder of GJ’s Farm Equipment, now GJ’s Harvest Centre Inc., says:

“Just three years after opening, in 2003, we began our partnership with Claas after picking up the hay tool line. Now, 17 years later, we couldn’t be more excited to expand our business even further with the premium brand of Claas products. With the expansion brings a new name change, which will better represent us as a focused dealer for Claas. Claas is a world-class company committed to expanding their business in southwest Ontario and we are thrilled to grow with them.”

GJ’s began as a repair shop in 2000 by Gary and his wife, Corrie. Since then, their customer commitment has expanded to include the sale of new and used equipment as well as exceptional parts and service departments. The facility’s expansion will allow them to continue providing top-of-the-line, dependable equipment for their current and future customer base.
