]]> SAME innovation leads again at the SIMA 2019 international trade fair for mechanised agriculture in Paris: the Frutteto CVT ActiveSteer wins the “Machine of the Year” prize in the specialist tractors category.

The much-coveted accolade, which was awarded by an international jury of journalists, represents further recognition of SAME’s leading position in the vineyard and orchard tractor sector. This achievement comes after the company won “Machine of the Year” award in 2015 for the Frutteto ActiveDrive, the first specialist tractor equipped with a front axle with independent wheel suspension.

The new Frutteto CVT ActiveSteer is the first specialist vineyard and orchard tractor with four-wheel steering. This new technology allows work to be carried out in tight areas, ensuring manoeuvrability, steering quality and a significantly better turning circle than a traditional machine, but with the same track and wheelbase as standard rear axle versions.

“The Frutteto CVT ActiveSteer is the latest in a series of innovations that have been developed internally in recently years by SDF for the specialist tractor sector”, explains Lodovico Bussolati, CEO of SDF. “Using key components completely designed and produced in SDF on the ActiveSteer – i.e. engine, transmission, front axle – makes us even more proud of this recognition.”
