The C650 Air Cart can be ordered in either tow-behind or tow-between configurations.

Thanks to its 650-bushel capacity, high-flotation tires and fill rate of up to 100 bushels per minute, the C650 Air Cart helps customers be more productive by seeding more acres per day in less time. Ryan Hough, marketing manager for planting and seeding for John Deere said:

“This cart fills a need for producers or custom operators who are looking for an air cart with a capacity of more than 550-bushels, without having to make the leap up to our 850-bushel cart,”.

Integrated John Deere technology helps make the C650 Air Cart a smart cart. Technology includes a durable, digital cart-side display to make filling and calibration push-button easy. ActiveCal is an on-demand calibration feature that allows operators to automatically calibrate meters right from the Gen 4 Display in the cab. An integrated wiring harness provides connections for five-camera locations, one in each tank and a fifth that provides a rear-hitch view.

The C650 Air Cart can improve seeding accuracy too. SectionCommand manages seed and fertilizer application by minimizing overlaps and skips. AirPower 2 provides dual fans, one for seed and one for fertilizer. Thanks to large, 3-inch primaries, AirPower 2 can accurately deliver product rates across the full width of even the widest air seeding tools, from opener to opener for consistent product application.

Additional features found on the larger John Deere C850 Cart are also included on the C650, including hydraulic rear disc brakes, in-tank camera mounts, LED working lights, conveyor weather cover and digital tank air pressure monitoring.

The C650 is compatible with select hoe drills and no-till drills. A Relative Flow Blockage Detection Performance Upgrade Kit from John Deere can also be added to the C650 to make it compatible with competitive tools and tractors.

“This gives operators greater confidence from row to row in product applied regardless of the brand or age of their tools,”

For today’s corn and soybean customers who require planter-applied fertilizer, a split-row configuration and narrow transport, John Deere introduces the new 1745 MaxEmerge 5 Planter.

Because of its simple design, the planter is compatible with older tractors (95 drawbar horsepower) and up. The new planter was successfully tested this past year with cooperators using a John Deere 4440 Tractor. The 1745 Planter can be quickly folded for transport, right from the cab. Once folded, it’s compact size tracks within the duals of the tractor for stable, narrow transport under 13-foot (3.9 m) high. Depending on the options chosen, customers can add as much or as little technology as they want to best fit their operation.

Ryan Hough, marketing manager, planting and seeding for John Deere said:

“1745 is an economical planter in a split-row configuration that’s capable of planting soybeans on 15-inch (38 cm) rows and corn on 30-inch (76.2 cm) rows. Customers told us they want to be able to apply dry or liquid fertilizer while planting corn, a technique that can boost yields by approximately 10 bushels per acre when compared to the conventional method of broadcasting nitrogen fertilizer. The 1745 Planter addresses these requirements. It’s simple, productive and efficient and it can be configured and equipped many ways to help customers reduce their input costs.”

When fitted with optional RowCommand individual-row control, the 1745 Planter can help customers reduce their seed costs by 4.3 percent on average compared to not using RowCommand.

Customers can choose from an 8-row, 30-inch; or a 15-row, 15-inch configuration for the 1745 Planter. Three commodity storage options are available and include 1.6- and 3-bushel row hoppers, or mini hoppers with the 50-bushel John Deere CCS central fill seed delivery system. With CCS customers can conveniently and efficiently fill the planter from one spot.

The 1745 Planter can also be fitted with the optional John Deere SeedStar XP monitoring system. This technology provides operators with detailed planter performance information and lets them easily make machine adjustments as needed for optimal efficiency.

To address this concern John Deere has introduced ExactRate, a factory-installed option that precisely monitors and controls the application of liquid fertilizer during planting.

Ryan Hough, marketing manager for planting and seeding for John Deere said:

“ExactRate gives operators row-by-row section control to help reduce fertilizer costs and the number of chemicals applied by shutting off application in areas of overlap or non-application- Using ExactRate, customers can follow the 4R Principles of Nutrient Stewardship by applying the right product, at the right rate, at the right time and in the right place.”

ExactRate is compatible with select models of John Deere planters with electric drive including the 1775NT, 1795, DB60, DB 44 and DB66 Planters. Thanks to its hydraulic-driven pump, ExactRate can be operated at maximum speeds up to 10 mph (16 km/h), enabling operators to plant up to 5.9 more acres per hour.

ExactRate apps are fully compatible with the John Deere 4640 Universal Display and 4600CommandCenter and provide in-cab flow detection and in-field documentation for operators.

“ExactRate compensates for both commanded rate changes and speed changes. It also provides curve compensation. This helps ensure growers apply the right rates across their fields, including entry and exit of headlands,”

“This cart fills a need for producers or custom operators who are looking for an air cart with a capacity of more than 550-bushels, without having to make the leap up to our 850-bushel cart,”

An integrated wiring harness provides connections for five camera locations, one in each tank and a fifth that provides a rear-hitch view.

See your local John Deere dealer for a complete list of compatible drills. A Relative Flow Blockage Detection Performance Upgrade Kit from John Deere can also be added to the C650 to make it compatible with competitive tools and tractors.

“This gives operators greater confidence from row to row in product applied regardless of the brand or age of their tools,”

Hough said.

John Deere will begin taking orders for the C650 Air Cart starting June 1; with shipments taking place later this fall.

As input costs continue to rise, farmers are looking for ways to enhance their planting equipment to provide precise placement and reduce inputs when possible. To address this concern John Deere has introduced ExactRate, a factory-installed option that precisely monitors and controls the application of liquid fertilizer during planting.

Ryan Hough, marketing manager for planting and seeding for John Deere said:

“ExactRate gives operators row-by-row section control to help reduce fertilizer costs and the amount of chemicals applied by shutting off application in areas of overlap or non-application. Using ExactRate, customers can follow the 4R Principles of Nutrient Stewardship by applying the right product, at the right rate, at the right time and in the right place.”

Hough said.

John Deere will start taking orders for ExactRate beginning in June, with shipments starting later this fall.

When it comes to new planters, bigger isn’t always better or required.

“The 1745 is an economical planter in a split-row configuration that’s capable of planting soybeans on 15-inch (38 cm) rows and corn on 30-inch (76.2 cm) rows.

John Deere will be taking orders for the 1745 Planter beginning in June with shipments beginning later this fall.
