With the four-month postponement of the trade fair, the DLG, as organiser, as well as the members of the VDMA Agricultural Machinery Association, believe that the participating companies have the necessary certainty required for planning.

The DLG (German Agricultural Society) is postponing the Agritechnica trade fair. Because of the continuing Corona pandemic as well as the progress of vaccination programs, both in Germany and abroad, the DLG, VDMA Agricultural Machinery Association and Agritechnica’s exhibitor advisory board have concluded that insufficient certainty for planning currently exists for the world-leading exhibition in November.

“As a world-leading trade fair, Agritechnica is the meeting point for the entire agricultural machinery industry, as well as a leading international business platform. The essential requirements for exhibitors, visitors and business partners to be able to gather again at Agritechnica are vaccine and test strategies that have been put into practice in Germany, Europe and worldwide. Our top priority is to offer exhibitors and visitors certainty in planning but this is not currently the case. As a consequence, the decision to postpone Agritechnica was taken by the DLG in close cooperation with Agritechnica’s exhibitor advisory board and VDMA Agricultural Machinery Association as industry partner,”

said Dr. Reinhard Grandke, Chief Executive Officer, DLG.

“We are convinced that by late summer, which is the deadline for exhibitors to register for Agritechnica 2022, we will be able to give our exhibitors and visitors the clarity necessary for certainty in their planning,”

added Dr. Grandke.

“For our industry, Agritechnica is and will continue to remain the undisputed flagship in the world of international trade fairs. In close cooperation with the DLG, we have done everything we can to develop a trade fair concept for this autumn that is fit for the pandemic. The third wave of the pandemic is currently in full force. But above all it is the disappointing vaccination policies in the German federal and regional governments, which have unfortunately slowed us down for the time being. We are now looking to spring 2022 with fresh momentum and renewed energy so that we can celebrate an Agritechnica together as we know it and love it,”

said Anthony van der Ley, Chairman of the VDMA Agricultural Machinery Association, underlining the outstanding position of Agritechnica.

Exhibitor reactions to Agritechnica

“For many years now we have appreciated Agritechnica as the outstanding driving force behind innovation in the agricultural machinery industry. Nowhere else can we experience new technologies for crop production in a comparable breadth and depth. For us, Agritechnica is the ideal presentation and communication platform, as it makes the future of agribusiness tangible. We look forward to the upcoming trade fair in March 2022,”

said Christoph Gröblinghoff, Vice President and Chairman of the AGCO/Fendt Management Board.

“Farmers and contractors invest in their future, also now, during the pandemic. The sustained strong demand for innovative agricultural machinery, tractors and software systems make this clear. What we are missing now more than ever is personal customer dialogue and to directly experience the innovations – in a word: the fascination of a live event. Agritechnica embodies all of this like no other. We’ll be back again next March!”

said Klaus-Herbert Rolf, Chairman of the VDMA working group ‘Press and Advertising’; Claas KGaA mbH.

Agritechnica will return to the exhibition grounds in Hanover, Germany, from 27th February to 5th March 2022 and will offer its visitors an extensive exhibition and technical program on topics of current interest in international agricultural machinery and crop production.

From November 2021, DLG’s digital platform will be offering a program of professional and technical information. This accompanying program will strengthen the reach of Agritechnica, while also offering its users a platform with new networking opportunities.

National Farm Machinery Show and Championship Tractor Pull announced scheduled events will be postponed until February 16-19, 2022. Despite initially planning to continue the shows this March, the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic has led show management to make the difficult decision to postpone events until next year.

“The health and safety of our guests, exhibitors, and coworkers is our highest priority and unfortunately the best way to keep them safe is to postpone the show. Postponing the National Farm Machinery Show and Championship Tractor Pull was not made lightly, but in consultation with exhibitors, pullers, sponsors, and attendees who are a valuable part of our decision-making process”

said President and CEO of Kentucky Venues David S. Beck.

The National Farm Machinery Show is held annually at the Kentucky Exposition Center and is the largest indoor farm show in the country consisting of 1.2 million square feet of sold-out exhibit space. The show is a key player in the global agriculture industry featuring the most comprehensive display of equipment, services, and technology.

Held in conjunction with the farm show, Championship Tractor Pull draws more than 70,000 fans in person and online from across the globe to watch five action-packed pulls over the course of four days. Sponsored by Syngenta, the event draws the nation’s top drivers as they compete for the title of grand champion and a prize pool of over $200,000.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2022 for the 56th National Farm Machinery Show and 53rd Championship Tractor Pull with a focus on the future of agribusiness. As we strive to produce the best experience for everyone, we will take the lessons of 2020 and 2021 to plan a comprehensive show with relevant seminars and educational content alongside the latest state-of-the-art farming equipment,”

said Beck.

Exhibitors and Vendors Similar to previous years, space contracted for the prior show is reserved for the same exhibitor at the next show. Exhibitors’ 2020 floor space is reserved in 2022. If you have an interest in exhibiting at the 2022 show, applications will be available online in late-April.

Championship Tractor Pull Ticket Holders Priority ticket holders’ 2020 seats are reserved for 2022. If you purchased seats for 2021, your purchase will be refunded automatically. Please contact the ticket office at 502-367-5144 or email tickets@kyvenues.com if you want your purchase to be applied to 2022. General admission tickets go on sale in fall 2021. Many of the season ticket holders have already provided instruction as to their preference and we currently processing the request.
