Perfect ground tracking – even more convenient

Pöttinger delivers innovative innovations to mowers for the best forage in the 2020 season. For many years, farmers around the world have been impressed by revolutionary Alpha Motion front mower technology. With the new Pro models, the enjoyment of mowing takes on a new dimension. The new Pro range consists of the Novacat 261, 301 and 351 Alpha Motion Pro disc mowers as well as the Eurocat 311 Alpha Motion Pro and Alpha Motion Plus Pro drum-type mowers. The disc mowers can be used without conditioner with swath doors or in combination with an ED tine conditioner or RCB roller conditioner. The Plus versions of the drum mowers are available with ED tine conditioners.

More convenient handling

Like the Master models, the new Pro models are attached to the tractor using a three-point mounting. This makes them easy to attach to any tractor, regardless of size. The cutter bar is easily accessible thanks to the folding front guard. This makes it easier to clean and change the blades. The cover can be easily removed to provide convenient access for adjusting the suspension springs. The central greasing points on the headstock represent an additional simplification in terms of servicing. The optimised drive train does not require a safety chain for the PTO shafts.

Perfect ground tracking

Naturally, the proven kinematics of the active support frame have also been used on the new Pro version. On conventional headstocks only the leading linkage responded to bumps in the ground. With the Alpha Motion headstock the entire carrier frame adapts to the ground contours. Each movement controls the carrier frame to ensure a “floating cut”. Even at high speeds and over wet ground, which results in a unique conservation of the sward. The mower is guided harmoniously over each bump in the ground, which means that it is less stressed and wear is reduced. This extends the service life, as does the powerful cutter bar featuring Tri Drive for better power transmission. The engineers at Pöttinger have also come up with a new look: the new models are eye-catchers with their very sleek, modern design. Pöttinger mowers offer maximum convenience with the best ground tracking and cutting quality, low disintegration losses and high precision work without time-consuming adjustments. The Novacat and Eurocat Alpha Motion Pro mowers offer these advantages, providing the basis for optimum forage quality and as a consequence the best forage.

Z700 Series brings commercial quality and comfort to homeowners

Built to last, the new John Deere Z700 Series ZTrak zero-turn mowers bring commercial-grade construction and comfort to the residential market. Five models, including the Z720E, Z735E, Z730M, Z735M and Z740R, offer homeowners a durable solution that will stand up to the demands of mowing larger properties while enhancing operator comfort.

“Homeowners with large properties need durable, easy-to-use machines that also keep them comfortable throughout long mowing sessions,” said Kim Ridel, tactical marketing manager, John Deere. “The new Z700 Series hits the mark for these customers with commercial-grade construction, an integrated park brake, and an adjustable foot platform.”

Equipped with 23 to 25 horsepower (17.2 to 18.6 kW) engines, a commercial-grade transmission and heavy-duty frame, the Z700 Series mowers provide homeowners with the power, performance and durability that’s needed when maintaining large properties. Additionally, a large fuel tank provides enough run time to get through long mowing sessions.

An integrated park brake allows the operator to audibly hear the brake click into place. The brake automatically engages when steering levers are moved outwards, and disengages when the levers are pulled together, allowing the operator to quickly start and stop work in a natural motion.

The Z700 Series machines are equipped with a High-capacity PRO mower deck in one of three sizes: 48-, 54- and 60-inch. The mower deck is stamped from a single sheet of nine-gauge steel with commercial grade reinforcements for added strength and durability. The cutting height adjustment system with transport lock allows operators to adjust the cutting height with the turn of a dial, and then quickly return to the desired cutting height after lifting the deck for transport.

Operator comfort is also at the forefront of the Z700 design, which includes an adjustable, three-position foot platform and high-back seat. The three-position foot platform is designed so operators can move it forward and back for a comfortable position, regardless of their height.

Additionally, the Z730M and Z735M models are equipped with the ComfortGlide system, an industry-first. The ComfortGlide suspension protects the operator from jarring while mowing, providing up to two-inches (50.8 mm) of fore and aft travel to absorb bumps for enhanced ride quality.

Equipped with large rear tires, the Z700 series offers operators a gentle ride regardless of speed. Optional Michelin X TWEEL Turf Airless Radial Tires are available on the Z740R model, providing extra reliability and enhanced ride quality. With MICHELIN X TWEEL Turf Airless Radial Tires, flats, patch kits and replacement tires are a thing of the past. Additionally, they have a wear life that is three times that of a traditional pneumatic tire.
