Doosan Infracore North America, LLC, introduces the new DX42-5K and the DX50-5K mini excavators. The excavators are updates to the prior iterations, featuring new innovations to increase machine performance, versatility, operator comfort and reliability.

The Doosan DX42-5K and DX50-5K mini excavators demonstrate the company’s continued dedication to innovation. These models in the 4- to 5-metric-ton size class serve customers in various industries. The excavators’ compact size and mobility make them valuable for commercial and residential developments and landscape projects. In addition, the machines’ versatility makes them perfect for utility companies that perform underground construction tasks.

Performance

A new dual-flange track roller system works in tandem with an enhanced counterweight for better over-the-side digging and lifting capabilities. An integrated lift eye allows for easier craning and lifting. Operators now have the option to remove the bucket when lifting to maximize capacity with the new secure lifting point. The new DX42-5K and DX50-5K excavators have a high-performing 3-cylinder Doosan diesel engine that is more fuel-efficient. Four new tie-downs — for a total of six — provide extra security during transport. For additional dig depth and reach, a long-arm option is available for the DX42-5K and DX50-5K.

Versatility

The versatility of these mini excavators makes them a great tool for many jobs. The dozer blade’s top edge features a more durable design for added strength. The blade and frame are also designed with an angled top and rounded edges to keep material from building up on the blade and improve debris shedding. An angle blade remains an option for both models.

Easy-to-reach auxiliary hydraulic couplers are now located on the mini excavator’s arm. The repositioned couplers help reduce the time needed for operators to connect the hydraulic hoses. In addition, a new clamp diverter valve option allows operators to quickly connect another attachment without disconnecting the hydraulic clamp hoses.

Comfort

The mini excavators are standard from the factory with an enclosed, air-conditioned cab. Taller and wider windows offer better visibility, and foldable pedals offer more operator foot room. The ergonomic design also includes wider seats, responsive joystick controls, and new joystick buttons to provide additional hands-on control functions. An optional canopy is available for customers who prefer an open operating station.

Operators can monitor and troubleshoot with additional easily available data on the 5-inch display panel. These models are available with an optional integrated rearview camera for enhanced all-around visibility.

Durability

The new Doosan DX42-5K and DX50-5K mini excavators are designed with modifications to improve machine durability. For example, the mini excavator’s panels come together for a tighter and better fit.

The new DX42-5K and DX50-5K excavators are part of a family of mini excavators. Doosan offers six models in its mini excavator lineup — from the DX35-5 to the DX85R-3 — to serve customers with a variety of size classes and machine capabilities. The six Doosan mini excavators complement the company’s larger crawler excavator models, offering a full line of excavating equipment.

The E-Series compact excavators by Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) provide the agility and go-anywhere flexibility to squeeze themselves into the tightest of spaces. The EC15E, EC18E and EC20E are small but tough models that replace the previous D Series of excavators, while the short-swing ECR18E is a new addition to Volvo CE’s compact range.

The E-Series models have a common platform that is built with durability in mind. All round steel panels are safely recessed 10mm behind the Volvo exclusive high-profile cast iron counterweight, which ably provides protection and digging stability. With a machine height of a little over 2m and a variable undercarriage that can shrink to less than 1m – these new models can gain access to even the most confined of work areas. Once in position, the undercarriage can expand up to 1.35m for additional stability. The design ensures that the right frame corner, swing post and cylinder all stay within the tracks, resulting in maximum visibility and a reduced risk of machine damage when working alongside obstacles.

Volvo EC18E

Safe and easy operation

It may be able to squeeze into tight spaces, but operators will find that the cab environment of these compact excavators is both roomy and uncluttered. With fingertip operation, a simple layout to the controls and large pedals, each new model is easy to operate – and offers smooth combined movements.

As with all Volvo machines, safety lies at the heart of the E-Series compact excavator range. A large entrance area and well positioned step and handrails help with entry and egress of the cab, and once in position the operator is secure, thanks to good visibility and a ROPS/TOPS/OPG1 cab and canopy as standard. Other security features include lockable controls that prevent movement if the operator is not sitting firmly on the seat, bright orange seatbelt and green flashing beacon that help site managers easily confirm that the seatbelt is being used by operators at all times.

Compact machines move around far more frequently than larger general-purpose machines, but Volvo has designed the E-Series to be fast, simple and safe to transport. These mini marvels feature automatic slew lock and four easily accessed tie-down points on the upper frame. Thanks to their light weight and the Volvo bucket transportation system, the machines can also be safely transported with up to three buckets and a hydraulic breaker on a compact truck or trailer.

Light heavyweight

The EC15E compact excavator builds on the success of its predecessor, which was a proven and popular machine, particularly in the rental sector. Not only is it lightweight, it is also the smallest in the Volvo range, allowing it to squeeze into the tightest of spaces. While at work the EC15E comes into its own, and like its big sisters, provides the ease-of-use and durability needed to work hard all day, every day. Easy maintenance and repair minimize downtime, helping to deliver a low total cost of ownership.
Small machines, BIG performance

The EC18E and EC20E take performance to a new level, with a 13 per cent increase in tractive force and respectively 2,130kg and 3,120kg of combined digging forces. Their lifting capacity has increased by an average of 22 per cent at the front compared to the D-Series they replace, plus an extra 7 per cent at the side on the EC20E. The 11 per cent longer undercarriage of the EC18E contributes to even better all-round lifting capacity and stability, compared to the previous generation, with a 140mm increase in digging depth. For further flexibility, the auxiliary hydraulic flows can be independently adjusted in each direction, ensuring optimal speed and control, and a second auxiliary line is also available as an option.
Short swing, big potential

The ECR18E is an entirely new model and features a short-swing design. Able to fit into the tightest of spaces, the ultra-short tail design gives it the smallest radius in the Volvo range. The unit is highly stable all through 360o of superstructure swing, and its variable undercarriage can retract to just 995mm or expand to 1,352mm. Ideal for working on congested jobsites, the new ECR18E complements the Volvo compact excavators offer, which so far comprises seven short swing radius models, ranging from 1.7 to 9.5 tonnes.
The complete package for maximum profitability<picture></picture>

The E-Series can be effortlessly maintained thanks to a hinged fuel tank unique to Volvo that offers up an impressive ease of access to the engine compartment, and easy-to-locate daily check points. A 50-hour greasing interval further contributes towards the best-in-class serviceability of these machines. The engine can also be fitted with auto idle and automatic engine shutdown features, which help reduce noise disturbance, service costs and fuel consumption – as well as ultimately ensuring a higher resale value. As with all Volvo models, the E-Series can be complemented with a range of attachments such as quick couplers, buckets, breakers, and Genuine Volvo Parts.

At Intermat 2018, Bobcat is presenting a wide range of new products for the first time at the show. These include the arrival of Bobcat’s exciting new R-Series compact excavators from 2-4 tonne for markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), offering an unbeatable combination of the high performance that Bobcat equipment is famed for and superb machine controllability.

In addition to the new product launches, Bobcat is celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the world famous Bobcat loader at Intermat. Over the last sixty years, Bobcat’s commitment to outstanding quality, workmanship and innovation has helped to maintain its market leadership, so that one in every two skid-steer loaders sold today is a Bobcat machine.

At Intermat, the new compact excavators present the latest stage in the diversification of the Bobcat portfolio that has taken place over the last six decades. The new R-Series is a great example of how the company has fused true Bobcat DNA and extensive know-how to allow the latest products in the Bobcat portfolio to redefine industry standards.

Solutions for Every Application

To better meet customer expectations, Bobcat is showing a multitude of solutions at Intermat for nearly every application. Organized around a central display celebrating the 60th Anniversary (featuring a heritage Bobcat Clark 825 model), the Bobcat stand in Hall 5b presents key application areas, covering material handling, earthmoving (dominated by the new R-Series excavators), landscaping, demolition and road work. The company’s loader, excavator, telehandler and attachment products are arranged in these areas to demonstrate customer needs. Last but not least the different areas also display Doosan Portable Power (DPP) air compressors, lighting systems and generators. Complementing these are the thrilling live shows on the company’s outside demonstration area, which are traditionally one of Intermat’s highlights.

In addition to the new R-Series excavators, visitors to the stand and outside demo area can see the latest addition to the market-leading Bobcat loader range – the top-of-the-range T870 torsion suspension compact track loader. Another debutant at Intermat is the TL30.70 compact telehandler, providing a maximum lift capacity of 3 tonne and a maximum lift height of nearly 7 metres. Intermat also demonstrates why Bobcat is a leader in loader attachments with the widest portfolio on the market. Several new attachments are being launched including self-levelling planer attachments and the new WS-SL20 wheel saw.

New R-Series Redefines Industry Standards

The new range of five compact excavator models – the E26, E27z, E27, E34 and E35z – offers a best-in-class mix of high digging forces, superb stability and smooth controllability of working functions complemented by low weights for easy transportation. Excellent machine fit and finish plus new ground-breaking design features will make the new Bobcat R-Series unique on the market.

The R-Series utilizes newly developed flexible machine platforms that allow different configurations of models and specifications to suit a wide range of applications and customer needs. In addition, while taking engineering and productivity to unheralded heights, the development team for the new machines has ensured they offer greatly enhanced operator comfort and functionality and the best fit for key applications.

Supported by over 30 years of experience as one of the major players in the market, the new 2-4 tonne compact excavator range has been designed by the Bobcat European Innovation Center for customers in Europe. Numerous innovations include, for example, the market-leading all-around visibility cab and the new minimal effort joysticks offering further enhanced controllability and smoothness of working functions. The operator also benefits from up to five independent auxiliary hydraulic circuits and a new industry unique ‘Selectable Auxiliary Control’ (SAC) system for customizable joystick controls. The new E26 model includes a revolutionary Cylinder-Inside-Boom (CIB) design concept for maximum hydraulic cylinder protection.

New T870 Compact Track Loader

The new 5-link torsion suspension undercarriage in the T870 minimizes rocking when lifting a load high or when performing grading tasks. With the new Bobcat undercarriage, there is no trade-off between comfort and performance. An additional link on the rear axle stabilizes the system to decrease rocking or bouncing and increase productivity.

The T870 torsion suspension machine offers 10% more lift capacity than the previous roller suspension model. It is available with a wide range of standard and optional features and in a range of configurations to match emissions and specification requirements for all Europe, Middle East, Africa, Russia and CIS markets.

New TL30.70 Compact 7 metre Telehandler

The TL30.70 provides an excellent cost-effective alternative to larger 7 metre models, especially where working spaces are tight and increased maneuverability is required. With the new model, Bobcat has completed the full range of products from the company for the telehandler market – all made in France.

The TL30.70 offers outstanding performance with a maximum reach of 4 metres with a load of more than 1 tonne. At the maximum lift height, users can lift up to 2 tonne of weight, which is sufficient to place a pallet of heavy bricks in most conditions. The compactness and stability of the TL30.70 makes this machine a perfect tool for easy pick and go or for lifting materials to height on housing and commercial property developments. The TL30.70 telehandler is a very cost efficient solution (ideal for but not limited to rental companies) – especially when equipped with the 75 HP engine (without AdBlue/DPF).

Bobcat Attachments and Parts: End-to-end Solutions in Every Area

Both the static display and the demonstration zone for Bobcat at Intermat 2018 are promoting the company’s market leadership in loader attachments. There will be several new Bobcat attachments launched at Intermat including two new additions to the company’s current portfolio of self-levelling planer attachments – the PSL50 (50 cm width) and PSL120 (120 cm width) planers – for use with Bobcat high flow compact loaders.

Bobcat offers customers many advantages in the attachment market, including the company‘s One-Stop-Shop approach; the service support of the vast Bobcat dealer network and engineering approval, ensuring that all Bobcat attachments are optimized for efficiency, performance and greater productivity.

Visitors to the stand also have a chance to see the Bobcat Clark 825 heritage machine. This remarkable machine is there to illustrate the company’s history and commitment to its customers – whilst it is 40 years old, the machine is still fully functional using Bobcat Genuine Parts and ready to do any tough job.

Jemylia Raimbault, Senior Marketing & Training Director for Bobcat in EMEA, commented: “Intermat 2018 is giving the opportunity to Bobcat EMEA to showcase, application by application, how relevant our machines are to overcome the operator’s daily challenges. These can involve harsh environments where downtime is simply not accepted, or they can be located in limited access areas or even require an incredible variety of different jobs, i.e. attachments. Bobcat machines are definitely built for this, they are tough, agile and versatile.”
