Rainer has been with JLG for over 10 years in a variety of sales-related roles, most recently serving as a District Sales Manager in the South-Central Region. Prior, he was part of the Aftermarket Sales team in the Great Plains states, where he focused on parts and service support.

In his role as Director of Channel Development for North America, Rainer will be responsible for working to establish a dedicated dealer network for JLG agricultural telescopic handlers, while overseeing all sales and aftermarket efforts including parts, service, and training. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University.

“Cody has been a long-standing member of the JLG sales team and is well-known for his focus on customer service and support. His business approach aligns well to the relationship-driven nature of the ag industry, so we are excited to have him spearhead this effort,”

says Brent Miller, vice president of channel management at JLG.

JLG recently premiered the first model in its line of agricultural telescopic handlers, the JLG AG925, at Ag Progress Days (Furnace, Penn.), the Farm Progress Show (Decatur, Ill.), and Harvest Days (Grand Isle, Neb.)

Rainer says the Company is not new to serving the ag industry. “In one sense, we are actually returning to our roots. In 1969, when JLG’s founder John L. Grove introduced the world’s first boom lift, he marketed it to local farmers as a safer way to do work at height tasks in and around their barns,”

he says.

Agricultural telescopic handlers offer farmers and ranchers an equipment solution that simplifies repetitive lifting, loading, and carrying tasks, as well as general overhead repair and maintenance work.

Seatbelt engagement assurance functions by producing a visible and audible alarm that activates whenever an operator is seated and unbuckled. For example, when the operator is seated with the vehicle ignition key on, alarms will be activated immediately and continuously. The alarms will cease when the operator leaves the seat or turns the vehicle ignition off.

The alarms are intended to alert and remind the operator and will not prevent engine start-up or hydraulic and drive functions, similar to seat belt alarms in automobiles.

Operator presence functionality prohibits engine start and hydraulic functions if an operator is not present. Additionally, if the system detects a loss of seat pressure during operation, one of the following will occur:

• If the parking brake is engaged and the transmission is in neutral, hydraulic controls are disabled. Upon returning to a seated position, the hydraulic controls are enabled.
• If the parking brake is disengaged and the transmission is in neutral, hydraulic controls are disabled and the cabin alarm sounds continuous. Upon returning to a seated position, hydraulic controls are enabled, and the cabin alarm will cease.
• If the parking brake is disengaged and the transmission is in forward or reverse, hydraulic controls are disabled, the cabin alarm sounds continuous, and the transmission shifts to neutral. Upon returning to a seated position, hydraulic controls are enabled, and the cabin alarm will cease. The transmission will need to be returned to neutral to allow the system to reset prior to re-engaging forward or reverse travel.

The JLG 2733 telehandler offers 33-ft of maximum lifting height and an 8,000-lb capacity at maximum reach for excellent capability throughout the entire load chart.

In fact, Boehme continues, with the wide range of specialized attachments available for high-capacity telehandlers, this new model can replace more traditional machines, such as wheel loaders, that traditionally come with higher rental rates.

Designed to give operators the ability to work with greater confidence, the 2733 comes standard with JLG’s Load Stability Indication (LSI) system, which senses when the telehandler reaches forward load capacity. It is also engineered with precision gravity lowering and soft stop boom controls to provides operators with better boom control for precision placement.

To further inspire operator confidence, JLG’s proprietary SmartLoad Technology is an available option on this new telehandler. The technology in this system combines attachment recognition with real-time load data, allowing operators to handle materials with greater confidence. This three-part system includes attachment recognition, longitudinal stability indication (LSI) and a load management indication system (LMIS).

The 2733 can also be equipped with an optional right-side electronic mirror to give operators enhanced visibility on the right side of the machine This system has three components: Two cameras (one facing forward and one facing the rear), an internal display located inside the cab and right-side cameras that replace the typical right-side external mirror.

Other optional features include a multifunction display and a reverse sensing system. The multifunction display features integrated, electronic load charts, a reversing camera, diagnostics and analyzer capability to further assist the operator during machine operation. The reverse sensing system is designed to alert the operator of rear obstructions with an audible alarm. This feature helps operators be more aware of their surroundings, especially on busy job sites.

The new 2733 telehandler is the third model in the JLG high-capacity telehandler line, which also includes the 1644 and 1732 models.

The new SkyTrak 12054 telehandler is ideal for use in both industrial and commercial construction applications. This 12,000 lb. class telehandler, now the largest model in the SkyTrak line, comes with a single joystick for greater multifunction capability and an integrated hitch and boom-mounted lifting lug for improved productivity. Its tight turning radius offers excellent maneuverability, making it well-suited across a variety of applications.

The SkyTrak 3013 ultra-compact telehandler was purpose-built for use in small spaces requiring up-and-over reaches such as light construction, agriculture, landscape, and hardscape work. This 3,000 lb. the class telehandler is well-suited for loading and unloading pallets from flatbed trucks, as well as lifting and placing materials at heights up to 13’. The 3013 telehandler weighs 5,300 pounds with a load capacity of 2,700 pounds. It’s compact 4’6” x 8’9” footprint and rear pivot steer make it highly maneuverable, while its lightweight allows for transport by a standard pickup truck equipped with a tow-behind trailer.

Additionally, the new model features four-wheel drive, two-wheel rear steer, and a hydrostatic drive system, all supported by a Kubota V-1505 diesel, 24.8 horsepower engine.

This agreement with JLG reinforces the strategic commitment made by AUSA to internationalisation and consolidation in markets outside the EU. In 2019, the company achieved a turnover of 86 million euros, 70% of which came from global markets. Over the last five years AUSA has invested a total 12 million euros, mostly on designing new, more efficient and safer models, thus achieving a significant reduction in CO2 emissions. It has also launched its first electric model.

JLG, with its headquarters in Pennsylvania (United States), is a global leader in lift equipment (aerial work platforms and telescopic handlers) and it belongs to the Oshkosh Corporation group, which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Thanks to this agreement, the US company is expanding its catalogue of products to a segment that it had previously not covered.

The new vehicle 
The SkyTrak 3013 telescopic handler is the name adopted by AUSA’s current T144H model for JLG’s catalogue and it is especially designed to handle and transport materials in confined spaces. This industrial vehicle weighs around 2,400 kg and it has a loading capacity of 1,220 kg. The new model has a lifting height of 4 metres and it can be transported on a conventional trailer because it is so compact and lightweight. Additionally, the SkyTrak 3013 has four-wheel drive and rear steering, a hydrostatic transmission system and two accessory attachment options. It is powered by a Kubota V-1505 diesel engine with 19 kW of power.
