Huron Tractor and McGrail Farm Equipment announce a purchase agreement have been reached that will see Huron Tractor acquire McGrail Farm Equipment L.P. effective January 1, 2021.

Customer support has long been the foundation of Huron Tractor. The addition of McGrail Farm Equipment will improve access to Precision Ag, Service, Parts, and Equipment inventory across all Huron Tractor locations. Huron Tractor looks forward to building on the strong foundation McGrail Farm Equipment has established as they expand the commitment to Chatham-Kent and Essex Counties.

Eligibility

1. Preference will be given to applicants who reside in Huron Tractor’s trade area.
2. Huron Tractor scholarship applicants must be enrolling in their first year at a recognized post-secondary educational institution in an agricultural program and must be taking a full course load.
3. Huron Tractor scholarship applicants will be required to provide proof of enrollment at the recognized post-secondary educational institution, indicating their full-time status, and proof of payment.
4. Huron Tractor reserves the right to award scholarships at the sole discretion of the company and will base the decision on several factors, including grades, eligibility, and information contained within the required essays.

Policy

1. Applicants to the Huron Tractor scholarship fund will be required to submit a completed application form, complete with a transcript of their previous academic grades earned.
2. Huron Tractor scholarships will be awarded at the discretion of the company and will be merit-based. The maximum amount awarded shall be Three (3) Scholarships worth $1500 each. The scholarship program will run yearly.
3. Huron Tractor scholarship application forms are located on the Huron Tractor website at www.hurontractor.com
4. Completed forms should be submitted to Huron Tractor’s Human Resources Manager.
5. Applications will be reviewed and decided upon by an independent Scholarship Selection Committee.
6. Huron Tractor Ltd. doesn’t guarantee employment for scholarship recipients; however, we may give recipients preferential consideration following the completion of their studies and/or for summer or co-op work terms.

2019 WINNERS

The winners of the 2019 Huron Tractor Scholarship Program were:

Vanessa Kloostra of Monkton (enrolled in Bachelor of Science in Agriculture at University of Guelph)
Hannah Jansen of Seaforth (enrolled in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Large Animal – Ag, at University of Guelph)
Abbey Taylor of Belmont (enrolled in Bachelor of Food, Agriculture, and Resource Economics at University of Guelph).

Each winner was presented with a $1500 scholarship cheque at Huron Tractor, Exeter, on Monday, August 19, 2019.

The award recipients were selected at the discretion of an independent scholarship selection committee, with consideration to factors such as grades, eligibility, and essay submission information. Candidates had to be enrolling for their first-year into a full-time, undergraduate and/or graduate Agricultural program at a recognized post-secondary educational institution. The annual Huron Tractor Scholarship Program was introduced in June 2018, as a reflection of the commitment to excellence in education and the long-term sustainability of Ontario Agriculture.

Three $1500 post-secondary education scholarships were also awarded internally to Huron Tractor employee’s children. These winners included:

Jessica White of Port Stanley (enrolled in Concurrent Bachelor of Education / Bachelor or Arts (Visual Arts) at Brock University. Jessica is the daughter of Phil White from Huron Tractor, St. Thomas Parts dept.)
Adrienne Wise of Clinton (enrolled in Masters of Physical Therapy at Western University. Adrienne is the daughter of Charlie Wise from Huron Tractor, Exeter Service dept.).
Sydnee Belford of Shelburne (enrolled in Masters of Peace and Conflict Studies at University of Waterloo. Sydnee is the daughter of Dave Belford from Huron Tractor, Stayner Parts dept.).

Parts

Please contact your local store by phone to allow us to assist you with parts. Once your order is gathered, your order will be placed in a designated area for pickup.

Alternatively, parts can also be ordered online 24-7 through our MyDealer Customer Portal and picked up at each branch.

Service

The only change to service will be the request to call ahead to schedule picking up or dropping off of equipment.

Mobile Service is still available at your operation, providing that you can ensure a safe working environment compliant with all current health regulations. Technicians will be equipped with appropriate personal protective equipment and disinfectants to clean the areas of the equipment they are working on.

Precision Ag Services

Our Precision Ag team is available to assist customers with pre-season preparations including Operations Centre and equipment setup support by leveraging Wireless Data Transfer, Remote Display Access on displays or via video chat, web meetings and other means.

Equipment sales

New or pre-owned Ag, Turf or Compact Construction Equipment consultations (virtually, by phone or in-person) can be scheduled by calling your local store or sales professional

New Riding Lawn Equipment, Gator Utility Vehicles, and Compact Utility Tractors can also be purchased online with free delivery within appropriate distances.
