The increased power and convenient serviceability also add to the appeal of the RT-40 as a more productive, safer option than walk-behind and stand-on loaders. <span style="background-color: #00ff00;">Additionally, the small-frame RT-40 showcases new comfort, visibility, and performance features over its predecessor. It is a leading performer in applications that require work in tight spaces, including urban snow clearing and landscaping, making it an ideal rental product for homeowners, rental fleets, and contractors</span>.</p>

<h3 class="v1MsoNormal">Power and Productivity</h3>
<p class="v1MsoNormal">The repowered RT-40 includes a more powerful new 38.2-horsepower Tier 4, 3-cylinder Yanmar engine­. The compact track loader allows contractors and homeowners to get more done in a day, featuring a 48.3-inch width, an 8.4-foot lift height, a 931 rated operating capacity, and a 7.1 mph top speed.</p>
<p class="v1MsoNormal">The machine also boasts high tractive effort, exceptional pushing, and digging power thanks to ASV&#8217;s Posi-Power system. The RT-40&#8217;s quick attach fits a variety of attachments and works with an optional adaptor plate for full-sized or walk-behind/stand-on loader attachments. <span style="background-color: #00ff00;">An idler wheels full-metal-face seal package increases the ROC to 1,008 pounds. In addition, the loader&#8217;s compact size allows it to be conveniently towed behind a 1/2-ton pickup truck</span>.</p>
<p class="v1MsoNormal">The RT-40 comes standard with the variable auxiliary hydraulic flow and can operate efficiently at a high auxiliary circuit flow rate, powered by 13.3-GPM of pump capacity and 3,000 psi of system pressure. Labor-intensive belt servicing is eliminated thanks to ASV&#8217;s signature use of a direct drive pump. This, along with the machine&#8217;s large line sizes and hydraulic coolers, transfer more flow and pressure directly to the attachment to help prevent power loss.</p>
<p class="v1MsoNormal">A highly efficient cooling system allows operators to get more out of their machines. The RT-40 is tested to operate at full load 100% of the time in ambient temperatures from -40 up to 118 F.</p>

<h3 class="v1MsoNormal">Serviceability and Reliability</h3>
<p class="v1MsoNormal">The RT-40&#8217;s Yanmar engine can be serviced at ASV dealers. Yanmar engines are renowned for their longevity, and the ability to maintain it through ASV&#8217;s network of dealers gives customers more convenient options when engine maintenance is required.</p>
<p class="v1MsoNormal">Additionally, the machine is designed so operators can spend less time servicing it and more time productively on the job site. Its rear-tilting hood offers easy access to maintenance points, including filters, oil, and fuel tank reservoirs, hydraulic and water separator drains, and the battery.</p>
<p class="v1MsoNormal">The loader is built with a heavy-duty frame, drive table, and axles. It features a new wiring harness routing for additional durability. In addition, the drive hose routing and chassis sealing are designed for reduced rubbing, fewer line breaks, and boosted hose longevity. Metal-face seals on the front and back ensure the drive hubs do not require maintenance for the life of the machine. An optional bumper or bumper and limb riser can help protect the machine in tough applications, such as rental applications.</p>
<p class="v1MsoNormal"><span style="background-color: #00ff00;">ASV stands behind the reliability of its Posi-Track loaders with an industry-leading 2-year, 2,000-hour warranty</span>. The warranty includes the industry&#8217;s first and only no-derailment guarantee and covers the tracks for the entire warranty period.</p>
<h3 class="v1MsoNormal">Comfort and Ease of Operation</h3>
<p class="v1MsoNormal">ASV brought bigger comfort to the compact cab of the repowered RT-40. Entry and exit are easier and operators have more hip room due to the new single-sided lap bar, similar to that on the larger MAX-Series models. Partially adjustable armrests and a tall cab improve comfort for operators of different sizes. The cab is also pressurized, resulting in a cleaner in-cab environment. Optional all-weather or cold weather cabs include heat and air conditioning. ASV also offers additional comfort features, including a cup holder, phone mount, and DC outlet.</p>
<p class="v1MsoNormal">The RT-40 offers a safer and more productive alternative to similar-sized walk-behind and stand-on skid-steer loaders. Its cab features rollover and falling object protection, sheltering operators from outside elements with available enclosed configurations, and eliminating the fatigue that comes withstanding.</p>
<p class="v1MsoNormal">Operation is easy and intuitive, thanks to a new 4.3-inch color display and standard hydraulic joystick controls putting full control of the machine at the operator&#8217;s fingertips. A new drive transmission allows for more precise control and fine-tuned operation.</p>
<p class="v1MsoNormal">The machine also includes visibility improvements over its predecessor. A new frameless front door includes a floor-to-ceiling glass area, allowing operators to better see their work and attachments. The cab&#8217;s large side and rear windows provide additional lines of sight. This is further improved by the bright rear LED light and adjustable front pedestal lighting. An optional backup camera is available to replace the standard rearview mirror for additional convenience and visibility.</p>

<h3 class="v1MsoNormal">Posi-Track Benefits</h3>
<p class="v1MsoNormal">While many compact track loader designs use the same chassis for their compact track loaders as their skid steers, ASV designs its patented Posi-Track and skid-steer loaders independently to provide customers with the highest performance from each machine. The RT-40&#8217;s dedicated frame results in 10.8-inch ground clearance, higher than any walk-behind or stand-on loader, as well as many larger machines.<span style="background-color: #00ff00;"> The unit can easily travel over rocks, logs, stumps, and other obstacles with less risk of getting hung up</span>.</p>
<p class="v1MsoNormal">ASV&#8217;s Posi-Track system features a flexible track and an open-rail and internal positive drive-sprocket undercarriage, allowing for more traction, longer wear life, and faster, more convenient undercarriage cleaning. Posi-Track loaders also have a large number of ground contact points, spreading the machine&#8217;s weight evenly. As a result, the RT-40 features an industry-low 3.5 psi ground pressure, reducing the risk of damage to turf. Optional smooth turf tracks minimize the risk of damage underfoot even further. The low ground pressure also translates to more flotation and traction on steep, slippery, and wet ground, and enhanced control and pushing capabilities. The wide, flexible track maintains more contact with the ground than other designs, helping to virtually eliminate the risk of track derailment.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>FPT Industrial</strong>’s engine plant in <strong>Bourbon-Lancy, France,</strong> is the first of its world major factories to acquire the <strong>Gold Level certification</strong> in the <strong>World Class Manufacturing</strong> (<strong>WCM</strong>) program.</p>
<p><span style="background-color: #00ff00;">With a production capacity of around 80,000 engines a year, and employing over 1,200 people, the factory is specialized since 1998 in the production of <strong>Cursor C8, C9, C10, C11, C13, and C16 series engines</strong></span>, with 77 technical types and over 5700 options available. The site represents a top-notch center in the world of both diesel and natural gas engines, providing a wide range of customers with the best solutions, tailor-made on the specific needs of the various applications from on and off-road vehicles to marine and power generation.</p>
<p>The road to the highest honor was built on solid pillars and high knowledge, and key gold points mentioned were: quality, machining maintenance, and the Karakuri system. As an industry 4.0 strongly focused plant, Bourbon-Lancy has applied its built-in innovative and research-oriented approach in a number of sector ground-breaking projects, mainly in the IT and logistic applications, such as the introduction of the Sherpa smart and mobile collaborative robots along the production line.</p>

<p><span style="background-color: #00ff00;">The Bourbon-Lancy plant is well known in the region for its commitment to sustainability,</span><br />
<span style="background-color: #00ff00;">with a number of projects focused on minimizing the impact of industrial activities and on</span><br />
<span style="background-color: #00ff00;">protecting the biodiversity of the surrounding environment</span>, making it the ideal home of the<br />
most successful natural gas-powered engines on the market. As a testament to it, in March, the 10,000th Cursor 13 NG engine rolled out from its production lines.</p>
<p>World Class Manufacturing is an international methodology for the organization of the manufacturing process and has been adopted, on a worldwide basis, by the most important companies in every kind of business, from automotive to services, from consumer goods to industrial tools.</p>
<p>WCM has the goal of continuously improving production performance and gradually eliminating waste, which helps to ensure product quality and maximum flexibility in responding to customer requests. All this is achieved through a structured and integrated production system that encompasses all the plant’s processes, from safety to the environment, from maintenance to logistics and quality, as well as the involvement and motivation of the personnel working in the factory.</p>
<p>WCM activities are formally audited at regular intervals and each production plant is assigned a score and the appropriate prizes and medals (Bronze, Silver, Gold).</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Being ever more sustainable is one of the strategic objectives that <strong>FPT Industrial</strong> is facing, and it is also a major challenge. The requirement to reach the <strong>European CO2 emission</strong> targets in 2025 and 2030 makes the use of alternative fuels and e-fuels possible paths to addressing these challenges.</p>
<p>Following its DNA of leading research and technological innovation, FPT Motorenforschun in Arbon, Switzerland, is developing an innovation project into the use of DME, alternative fuel in an 11-litre heavy-duty engine. <strong>DME</strong> (<strong>Dimethyl-ether</strong>, <strong>CH3-O-CH3</strong>) is a suitable fuel for compression ignition engines and can be produced from several renewable sources. Its chemical properties allow for, with the correct engine hardware configuration and calibration, very low NOx and particle emissions, whilst maintaining high engine efficiency.</p>
<p>There are, however, some challenges in the use of DME as a fuel, particularly in terms of the fuel injection equipment. DME has been industrially used for decades, mainly as a propellant in aerosol cans as it is non-toxic, odourless and can be absorbed in the troposphere. <span style="background-color: #00ff00;">From a storage and refuelling point of view, DME is like LPG. It is liquid at very moderate pressure levels</span>.</p>
<p>The overall goal of the project is to advance the understanding of using DME as an alternative to Diesel in the industrial goods sector and demonstrate clean combustion at comparable efficiency levels. Since DME combustion produces practically no particle emissions, a comparably simple SCR system, without the need for a particle filter may be enough to comply with strict emission standards.</p>
<p>The project is funded by SFOE (Swiss federal office for energy) and the test bench is operated at Empa Dübendorf, where the Company has invested heavily in the infrastructure adaptations necessary for DME. <span style="background-color: #00ff00;">The first experimental data are showing some very promising results in terms of CO2 reduction, along with very low NOx and particle emissions, together with similar engine efficiency to Diesel</span>.</p>
<p>For FPT Industrial, the project contributes to the innovation activities of its Research and Development centre in Arbon, Switzerland. One of its seven global R&amp;D locations, this is the Brand’s excellence hub for advanced technologies, where both Common Rail technology and the HI-eSCR (High-Efficiency Selective Catalytic Reduction system) were developed.</p>

<p>It’s also worth remembering that out of 18 candidates for the Tractor of the Year 2021 awards, seven were powered by FPT Industrial engines: Class Axion 960 CEMOS – Cursor 9, CASE IH Quadtrac 620 – Cursor 13, Landini Serie 7 V Shift – N67, New Holland T6.160 – N67, STEYR 6240 Absolut CVT – N67, CASE IH Vestrum 130 CVX Drive – N45, Valtra F105 – F34. This is the second time the “Sustainable Tractor of the Year” has been awarded, and it is intended to honor tractors that stand out for their particularly sustainable technology.</p>
<p><span style="background-color: #00ff00;">The first edition of this category awarded the New Holland Methane Power tractor concept powered by the FPT Industrial N67 Natural Gas.</span></p>

<p class="bodytext">A two newly developed compact wheel loader models with different power ratings are available from Kramer-Werke GmbH: the KL12.5 mini loader and the KL14.5 model.</p>
<p class="bodytext">The first, the KL12.5 mini loader, has an 18.5 kilowatt / 25.2 HP Yanmar engine, a bucket tipping load of 1,140 kilograms, and an operating weight of 1,920 kilograms. The second, the new KL14.5 model, features an energy package with the ideal dimensions. This all-wheel steer loader is equipped with a 28.5 kilowatt / 38.8 HP Yanmar engine. The machine has a slightly higher operating weight at 2,070 kilograms, as well as a bucket tipping load of 1,400 kilograms. Both models feature <span style="background-color: #008000;">a brand new cab design, as well as some modern comfort features and power options</span>.</p>

<p class="bodytext">Both models are compact and maneuverable wheel loaders. With a <span style="background-color: #008000;">width of just 1.26 meters and a height of a little over 2 meters</span>, they are ideal for low clearance heights and narrow passages, making them an indispensable partner for agriculture. The machines are built on a new framework concept that enables enormous maneuverability whilst maintaining stability.</p>
<p class="bodytext">The all-wheel steering in the series continues to support maneuverability and fast loading cycles in the tightest of spaces. This is complemented by the optional steering types: front wheel and crab steering, which are available for the first time for this size class.</p>
<p class="bodytext">The crab steering is adaptable for a lot of tasks, such as maneuvering in the tightest of spaces or parallel operation along a wall whilst mucking out. Not only does this type of steering enable obstacles to be overcome, but it also <span style="background-color: #008000;">maintains the consistent working distance parallel, thus ensuring the reduced potential for damage</span>. The simple and quick switch between all-wheel, front-wheel and crab steering is achieved using a <span style="background-color: #008000;">mechanical steering mode switch</span>.</p>
<h4>Modern cab design with a plus for comfort</h4>
<p>New standards have been set in the compact wheel loader segment with two tanks, providing service access, resulting in an excellent distribution of weight and stabilization as well as the modern cab design. These features in turn ensure the additional benefit of comfort and ease of operation, with functionality and ergonomics being paramount.</p>
<p>The wide entry includes additional steps, thus ensuring a comfortable and, above all, safe entry and exit. The tilt-adjusting steering column, available as an option, is similarly helpful in this respect and also enables individual steering adjustment for the operator. Large glass panels together with re-designed viewing channels ensure optimum visibility out to the attachment and excellent all-round visibility. The generously designed window on the right-hand side can be opened, as usual, through 180 degrees. The cabin door can also be fully raised and locked into position. The newly-designed side console includes many functional and ergonomic features and a number of storage compartments.</p>
<p><span style="background-color: #008000;">All important switches are located within easy reach of the right hand</span>. Intuitive operation of the three newly-developed operator modes (<span style="background-color: #008000;">Smart Driving PRO</span>) is easily possible and available as an option with the KL14.5 model.</p>
<h4>More power and Smart Driving Pro</h4>
<p class="bodytext">The new KL14.5 wheel loader model is equipped with a 28.5 kilowatt / 38.8 HP Yanmar engine as standard. The exhaust emission treatment is carried out by DOC and DPF. Smart Driving PRO is also optionally available for the all-wheel steer loader. This is a new feature with three different operator modes that support and relieve the operator in the respective applications whilst being fuel-efficient.</p>
<p class="bodytext">In Power Mode, the full engine output is available. The fast-loading cycles demonstrate their worth, even when it comes to mucking out. <span style="background-color: #008000;">In comparison to Power Mode, the machine drives at the same travel speed in Eco Mode with reduced engine speed</span>. With the aim of reducing the noise level and saving fuel, this operating mode is ideal for stacking work where there is no need for full system power.</p>
<p class="bodytext">The third operation mode is an <span style="background-color: #008000;">enhancement of the well-known “Low-Speed Control” option</span>. This is augmented during operation via the accelerator pedal. Thus when the engine speed is freely adjustable, not only can the forward travel speed be controlled via the handset control, it can also be done comfortably and sensitively using the accelerator pedal. This operating mode is ideal in applications with attachments, such as a rotary sweeper or a mulcher.</p>
<p class="bodytext">The speed can thus be adjusted to changing situations with the greatest sensitivity using the accelerator pedal. This means greater flexibility and safety for the operator. Fast switching between these three operator modes is now possible at the simple touch of a button. The KL14.5 wheel loader continues to impress with optional power flow auxiliary hydraulics, which is the perfect complement to the third operator mode.</p>
<h4>Versatile application guaranteed</h4>
<p class="bodytext">The well-known Kramer quick-coupler system provides further endurance for efficient working when frequently changing attachments. <span style="background-color: #008000;">The loader unit with Z-kinematics provides for a large lift and tearout force, as well as precision parallel guidance, throughout the total height</span>. The visual position display for bucket and fork provides the operator with huge assistance when it comes to frequent changing of attachments.</p>

<p dir="ltr"><span id="docs-internal-guid-60ba497f-7fff-f281-5d48-c01b8f276cad">As part of the ELECTRIP Event Week in Cologne between 15 and 21 September, DEUTZ </span>will for the first time be demonstrating the hybrid and full-electric drives from its new E- DEUTZ portfolio under real-life operating conditions. Customers, investors, media representatives and politicians will all have an opportunity to take electric-powered boats and construction equipment for test drives. It was in September 2017 with its acquisition of Torqeedo GmbH – the global market leader and system solution specialist for integrated electric and hybrid drives for boats – that DEUTZ, which specialises in innovative drive systems, embarked upon the electrification of its product range. The new partner’s comprehensive know-how forms the basis for future developments in DEUTZ’s core off- highway business. ELECTRIP is now highlighting both the underlying technology – in the form of series-production proven Torqeedo electric boat engines – and two recently developed E-DEUTZ drive prototypes – in the form of a hybrid and an full-electric telescopic handler.</p>
<p dir="ltr">E-DEUTZ is based on a modular electrification system, allowing customers to choose whatever is the optimum combination of conventional and electric drive components for their particular application. In terms of power output and capacity, every single E-DEUTZ component is scalable. The aim is to achieve a significant increase in efficiency which will reduce overall running costs, fuel consumption and emissions in equal measure. The first positive results from this modular system – a demonstration hybrid drive, consisting of a diesel engine and an electric motor with power electronics and a battery pack to match – were presented by DEUTZ at the Intermat construction equipment trade fair held in Paris in April 2018.</p>
<p dir="ltr">So as to provide a real-life illustration of how its e-drives perform in practice, DEUTZ has now taken upon itself to produce two demonstrator vehicles. Two Liebherr TL 432-7 telescopic handlers which are normally powered by a 74 kW DEUTZ TCD 3.6 diesel engine were converted, one to a hybrid drive and the other to an full-electric drive, at the DEUTZ Development Plant in Cologne.</p>
<p dir="ltr">As Dr Frank Hiller, Chairman of the DEUTZ Board of Management explains: “An interdisciplinary team of Torqeedo and DEUTZ design engineers succeeded in integrating our drive concept into two prototype machines in just six months. This shows that we have mastered the technology and are in a position to supply marketable electrification solutions. Demonstrating a fully-working operational system is the best way to prove that we have the expertise.”</p>
<h2>Hybrid or full-electric: Innovative drive systems for telescopic handlers</h2>
<p dir="ltr"><span id="docs-internal-guid-60ba497f-7fff-f281-5d48-c01b8f276cad">To produce the battery-electric hybrid, the E-DEUTZ team first ‘downsized’ the combustion </span>engine to a 56 kW DEUTZ TCD 2.2, supplementing it with a 48 volt 20 kW electric motor, thus giving the system a power output of 76 kW. The mechanical connection between the e-motor and the diesel engine is achieved by means of a transmission with integrated decoupler, which allows the diesel engine to be disconnected from the electrical system and provides the option of powering the vehicle purely by electricity. The energy required is generated by raising the diesel engine’s load point and storing the energy in a 10 kWh capacity battery. The potential savings are dependent on the load cycle and the operating period of the respective application. In this typical telescopic handler application, it was possible to achieve a fuel saving of up to 15 per cent, meaning that the investment will pay for itself within the first two years.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The full-electric demonstrator’s drive is powered by a 360 volt system voltage, its diesel engine being completely replaced by a 60 kW electric motor. To ensure that the drive is constantly supplied with sufficient energy, the E-DEUTZ experts have equipped the telescopic handler with a correspondingly powerful battery; with its 30.5 kWh capacity, even lengthy periods of use at high load present no problems. The full-electric E-DEUTZ drive operates with zero local emissions, making it particularly attractive in conurbations where air pollution is often a major issue. In addition to the complete elimination of exhaust gases, it also significantly reduces noise pollution. Both the demonstrators being exhibited are fully-functional and, in terms of performance, are in no respect inferior to the original diesel-powered model. This means that DEUTZ, together with its new partner, Torqeedo, has very quickly and successfully transferred its e- technology know-how to its core off-highway business. Both telescopic handlers demonstrate perfectly the flexibility offered by the E-DEUTZ modular system.</p>
<p dir="ltr">As Michael Wellenzohn, member of the Board of Management of DEUTZ AG for Sales, Service &amp; Marketing, explains: “We foresee particularly strong potential for installing hybrid and full-electric drives in small and medium-sized equipment. From illustrative Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) calculations, it is possible to see the period over which a hybrid drive, for example, in a particular application will cover its investment cost. Depending on the customer application, this can be after as little as one year of use. In 2022/2023, DEUTZ plans to achieve between 5 and 10 per cent of its overall sales revenue from electrified drives.”</p>

Working together, the parties will be able to develop an engine that provides customers additional and exceptional value upon initial purchase while retaining the reliability, versatility, and performance they’ve come to expect from John Deere and Deutz engines.</p>
<p>John Deere and Deutz bring different perspectives and capabilities to the table and, through this collaboration, the two companies can broaden their supply base and benefit from global scale — ultimately translating to increased customer value. The co-development and the co-sourcing scope include engine hardware and design, from which each company will customize its product to meet customers’ specific needs through engine software and controls. Engine manufacturing and distribution will be done independently by John Deere and Deutz.</p>
