Trevor Milton Steps Down as Executive Chairman; Stephen Girsky Appointed Chairman of the Board

Nikola Corporation announced that Trevor Milton approached the Board of Directors and proposed to voluntarily step aside as Executive Chairman and from the Board. The Board accepted his proposal, and Stephen Girsky, former Vice Chairman of General Motors Co. and a member of Nikola’s Board, has been appointed Chairman of the Board, effective immediately.

Milton said:

“Nikola is truly in my blood and always will be, and the focus should be on the Company and its world-changing mission, not me. So I made the difficult decision to approach the Board and volunteer to step aside as Executive Chairman. Founding Nikola and growing it into a company that will change transportation for the better and helps protect our world’s climate has been an incredible honor.”

“As we move forward, I am confident Steve is the right leader to guide our vision at the Board level. In addition to being an early believer and supporter of Nikola, Steve has more than 30 years of experience working with OEM leaders, suppliers, dealers, labor leaders, and national policymakers, and has served as a director of numerous public companies.”

Milton continued,

“We’ve built a deep bench of talent over the years, and I am confident that Nikola’s Chief Executive Officer, Mark Russell, supported by Chief Financial Officer, Kim Brady, and the rest of the leadership team will advance our goal of making Nikola the global leader in zero-emissions transportation. I want to thank all of Nikola’s employees, investors, and partners who have shared in my vision and rallied behind Nikola during this time.”

Girsky said,

“On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Trevor for his visionary leadership and significant contributions to Nikola since its founding. Trevor saw the possibility of creating an end-to-end zero-emission transportation system when the industry was still in its nascent stages and took action to build the Nikola of today, with world-class partnerships, groundbreaking R&D, and a revolutionary business model. I know I speak for everyone at Nikola in our gratitude and in wishing him all the best.”

Mark Russell, Nikola’s Chief Executive Officer, said:

“We remain committed to delivering on our objectives and creating value for our shareholders. Along with the rest of the management team, I will continue to work closely with Steve and the Board to advance Nikola’s vision for the future. Our priorities remain unchanged and, in collaboration with our partners, we are laser-focused on executing on our strategic initiatives and laying the groundwork to become a vertically integrated zero-emissions transportation solutions provider.”

At the 2020 Annual Meeting of the National Council for Farmer Cooperatives (NCFC), Brad Davis, Chairman of the Board and President of Ag Processing Inc a cooperative (AGP), was named recipient of the award for Farmer Cooperative Director of the Year.

The prestigious award is presented annually to a farmer cooperative director in recognition of outstanding leadership and contributions to his/her cooperative’s achievements. Davis has served on the AGP Board of Directors for over 26 years and as AGP Chairman since 2002. During that time, Davis also served as General Manager of Gold‐Eagle Cooperative, a position he held for over 35 years. Overall, he held various roles in the cooperative system for more than 40 years.

“Brad’s leadership as Chairman of the AGP Board reflects his commitment to cooperative values and our mission to serve agriculture. His insights and dedication to collaboration and communication enhance our strategic planning and investment programs, and have been an important part of the ongoing success of AGP”

said AGP CEO Keith Spackler.

Commenting on his award, Davis said, “I’m very honored and humbled to receive this award and I want to sincerely thank the NCFC and its membership.”

He added:

“The AGP Board of Directors and management have a very open and supportive relationship, and it is so rewarding to work with so many outstanding members of the AGP team. I believe the strength of the cooperative model at AGP mirrors a set of shared values we all strive to incorporate into our lives, our businesses, and our relationships. Moreover, I am proud of AGP’s commitment to share successes with its many cooperative owners, employees, and other stakeholders.”

The nominees for the award are examined by a panel of judges representing the NCFC membership and outside experts. Nominees are evaluated on four broad criteria: how well the nominee understands the cooperative; the ability to provide leadership and be a team player; the possession of good business judgment; and the ability to communicate effectively.

The NCFC Director of the Year award includes a dedicated scholarship for agricultural studies in the name of the recipient to an institution of higher learning of choice. Davis chose Iowa State University to receive the scholarship funds.

AGP is a leading agribusiness with primary operations as a major U.S. soybean processor/refiner producing and marketing soybean meal, refined soybean oil, and biodiesel. AGP businesses also include agricultural product trading in domestic and international markets and numerous U.S. grain elevator operations. AGP is owned by local and regional cooperatives representing farmer‐producers across the United States. Corporate headquarters are located in Omaha, Nebraska.

About NCFC

Since 1929, NCFC has been the voice of America’s farmer cooperatives. Their members are regional and national farmer cooperatives, which are in turn composed of nearly 2,000 local farmer cooperatives across the country. NCFC members also include 26 state and regional councils of cooperatives. Farmer cooperatives allow individual farmers the ability to own and lead organizations that are essential for continued competitiveness in both the domestic and international markets.
