Performance

Yanmar Compact Equipment’s wheel loaders are engineered for high performance in a compact package. Operating weights for the line range from 8,422 lbs. to 15,432 lbs. The loaders feature bucket capacities ranging from 0.65 cubic yards to 2.35 cubic yards and lift capacities of 7,451 pound-force to 15,962 pound-force. Fast travel speeds, ranging from 11.8 mph to 22 mph, improve job site productivity.

The loaders have intuitive controls and include features that allow for easy operation, such as fixed travel speed mode, fully automatic accelerator mode, and auxiliary hydraulics with proportional control. Operators of all skill levels can easily manage the intuitive, multi-function joysticks.

The V4-7, V8, and V10 are equipped with electronically controlled, Tier 4 Final Yanmar diesel engines, which offer outstanding power with minimized fuel consumption. The V12 features a Deutz diesel engine that is also Tier 4 Final compliant.

Efficiency

Hydraulic quick couplers allow for fast and easy changing of attachments. Operational efficiency is further enhanced by parallel-kinematics on the V8, V10, and V12, which allow operators to lift loads with precision, without the need for constant readjustment of the load angle. As the most compact loader in the line, V4-7 has a z-bar for higher breakout forces, but the machine also features an auto-leveler mode for applications where it is more beneficial to maintain a consistent level bucket. Additionally, the V4-7 offers ECO Mode, a setting that reduces the motor speed to allow for even lower fuel consumption.

Comfort

The Yanmar Compact Equipment compact wheel loaders bring operator comfort to the forefront with a second-to-none cab experience that includes high visibility, a suspension seat, and full climate control. All models feature two doors for easy entry from either side and maximum ventilation. The machines offer smooth off-road operation thanks to an oscillating rear axle that securely transmits traction force to uneven ground. This keeps the bucket level in operation and reduces operator fatigue.

The V8, V10, and V12 come standard with enclosed cabs designed to reduce operator fatigue. Cabs are rubber-mounted for a smoother ride and feature a comfortable seat with lumbar support, cushioning and an extra high backrest. The V4-7 is available in both open- and closed-cab configurations.

Reliability

Backing up their claim of maximum reliability, Yanmar Compact Equipment offers an industry-leading 3-year/3,000-hour bumper-to-bumper warranty on its entire line of compact wheel loaders. A central lubrication system is available as an option for the V8, V10, and V12. This option provides constant lubrication while the machine is running, virtually eliminating the risk of contamination.

Maintenance Kits that provide common maintenance and wear part replacement items conveniently in one place are available for all compact wheel loaders in the line. The loaders feature maximum serviceability, with convenient access to service items allowing for long maintenance intervals.

The JCB 403 AGRI Smart Power has a 19kW (25.5hp) version of the 1.5-liter Kubota V1505 diesel engine used in the current 403 AGRI. Torque output is unchanged at 91.6Nm at 2200rpm, so the compact machine can still generate excellent tractive effort for its size.

Tests show that the new engine rating will typically save 10% on fuel bills and because its power rating is below EU Stage V emissions rules, there is no need for emissions after-treatment hardware that would add cost to both the power unit and the machine – so it remains a competitively-priced, highly productive loader.

As with its larger capacity wheeled loaders, JCB does not stint on durability and engineering integrity when it comes to the components used on this ultra-compact model – Bosch hydraulics, ZF axles, and the Kubota engine complement the JCB-engineered and constructed chassis, loader arms and cab to create a premium quality machine.

A number of new options recently introduced for the current 403 AGRI give owners a choice of operator platform and cab layouts and enhance the loader’s ability to work with hydraulically-powered attachments.

The fully-glazed cab provides full weather and safety protection, a heater/demister unit and front and rear windscreen wash/wipe for the ultimate in operator comfort, while the fixed canopy with front and rear windscreens provide the easiest access for operators who need to frequently hop on and off their machines.

JCB’s new folding FOPS/ROPS canopy is the ideal solution for operators who need to access and work inside buildings where there are low-height doorways, roof trusses, or ceilings.

The canopy can be lowered in just 40 seconds, either from the ground or without stepping down from the machine, to reduce the loader’s overall height to just 1.84m. Yet it provides shelter from the rain when in place thanks to glass panels in the top of the frame.

New hydraulic options comprise twin auxiliary lines for equipment with two hydraulic cylinders to operate and a free-flow return line for implements needing a constant flow of oil.

These are complemented by the new Vari-speed feature that enables ground speed to be adjusted separately from the engine speed so that revs can be kept up to provide sufficient hydraulic power for a rotary sweeping brush or feeding bucket while the machine moves forward at low speed.

New front, rear, and loader arm-mounted LED lighting options to make it easier to use the 403 Agri Smart Power in and around farm buildings at night, while a 160kg supplementary counter-weight positioned behind the rear axle enhances the machine’s lift capacity by 151kg with a bucket and 118kg with forks.

The JCB 403 AGRI Smart Power measures only 1.1m wide with narrow tires fitted, enabling it to access the tightest confines of farm and other buildings, and stands only 2.2m tall when equipped with either the four-post open ROPS/FOPS frame or the fully-glazed and heated cab.
