“Our goal is to ensure John Deere combines are as productive as possible, and that all starts with the header. These headers are built to consistently feed the combine, keeping harvest productive and efficient. We know that how the crop is taken off the field is as important as how the field is left behind and all that starts with the front end.”

said Bergen Nelson, go-to-market manager for harvest equipment.

Hinged Draper

For model year 2026, John Deere introduces a new three-piece CAM reel with dense pack fingers. This three-piece CAM reel is engineered for high-performance harvesting, particularly in challenging crops such as pulses and edibles, which have a shorter stature and lower podding. The innovative design helps recover down and lodged crops, minimizing grain loss and increasing productivity. The dense pack fingers have 32% more tines compared with previous flip-over reels, providing an efficient material sweep from the knife to maximize grain capture. With an ability to maintain a consistent reel-to-knife relationship, the three-piece reel helps enhance feeding capacity, ensuring every seed counts.

Corn Head

The new CF18 30 is an 18-row, 30-inch- (76.2-cm-) spaced folding corn head—the industry’s first folding corn head with this row size and spacing. The header is designed to optimize the production system for growers to match the frame width of 36-row planters to eliminate having to harvest a wide/narrow “guess” row. The CF18 30 can decrease the number of passes by 11% per quarter section, compared with the CF16 30. The CF18 30 is compatible with StalkMaster and is engineered for use with the John Deere X9 combine series.

“The Axial-Flow 260 series combine represents a significant leap forward in integrated technology throughout the harvesting process for growers. We purposefully bundled precision technologies so there are no subscriptions or activations required to run the machine. The subscription-free connectivity gives customers the ability to remotely view machine and agronomic data via the new Case IH FieldOps platform, which will launch later in 2024. The technology stays for the lifetime of the hardware, boosting resale value.”

said Leo Bose, harvesting segment lead at Case IH.

The Axial-Flow 260 series is equipped with Harvest Command combine automation, which automatically optimizes settings to maximize throughput and grain quality, and features high-resolution Pro 1200 Dual Displays, giving operators easy access to machine metrics, field performance and grain quality in real-time. Additionally, growers can experience improved on-row accuracy, minimized header losses and less operator fatigue with the all-new RowGuide Pro and AccuGuide autoguidance systems to maintain on-row accuracy even when stalks aren’t present. These tech solutions, including AccuSync with in-field data sharing between multiple machines, are all provided with no subscription required.

said Paul Paplow, farmer, custom harvester and vice president at U.S. Custom Harvesters, Inc.

Building upon an enhanced operator experience, the Axial-Flow 260 series offers the new ActiveTrac four-roller hydraulic suspended track system. With a larger footprint, the ActiveTrac system reduces compaction and increases flotation by 14% compared to fixed track offerings. Operators will find a new level of comfort with luxury seating that includes massage, heating, and new air conditioning technology, along with simple seat controls, to easily optimize the operator’s comfort level during long harvest days.

“We engineered this new track system to reduce the machine’s footprint because minimizing soil compaction is important to us and our customers.

After 19 years with the company, Salz has retired from Claas Omaha. Matthias Ristow has assumed his role. Here is the full Press Release from Claas

Following nearly two decades at Claas and an even longer career in the farm equipment industry, Claas Omaha President Maury Salz announced his retirement. Matthias “Matt” Ristow has assumed the role of president of Claas Omaha, the combined production company for Claas in North America.

Leif Magnusson, president of Claas Global Sales – Americas, says:

“We would like to thank Maury very much for his successful work at Claas throughout the years. Many of our North American operations were shaped and further developed under his hard work and effective leadership. He had a hand in the evolution of the LEXION combine in North America for nearly two decades.”

During Maury’s 19 years at Claas , he was responsible for a wide range of North American operations including research and development, purchasing, quality, logistics, and manufacturing. Most recently, Salz oversaw the production of the all-new 8000-7000 Series LEXION combines, which returned to the bright “seed-green” Claas color after many years of Caterpillar yellow.

In 2018–19, Maury served as president for the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) and actively participates in executive committees for the advancement of Agricultural and Biological Engineering. He officially finished his year-long commitment to the organization as past president at the ASABE International Meeting this July.

The incoming Claas Omaha president, Matt Ristow, has been with the company for six years — first serving as Vice President – Finance & Operations, and now President & Managing Director, Business Administration. The planned transition has been a smooth one.

Matt was born in Germany and came to the United States as a high school exchange student. He continued his higher education in the U.S., receiving a bachelor’s degree in business general administration and a master’s in international business from Fresno State in California. Matt returned to Germany and worked for the largest privately-held service company in Europe, holding progressive positions overseeing controlling before returning to the U.S. and beginning an international career that led him from the U.S. to the United Arab Emirates and Turkey in senior executive positions.

Magnusson says:

“We wish Maury the best of luck in his retirement on his family farm in Northwest Iowa. Looking ahead, we are extremely excited for Matt to take on this new role. We recognize his dedication to continuously improving our products, and we are more than confident in his leadership for Claas of Omaha.”
