Salford Group welcomes David Webster as their new Director of Commercial Application. This new director-level position will execute a strategic vision for continued growth in the commercial application sector by focusing teams within Salford’s engineering, sales, marketing, operations, and finance departments, with the goal of providing new solutions and more value for commercial application businesses.

David is coming from AGCO, where he excelled in several positions including the role of Director of Application Equipment Marketing. Through the various roles he held there David developed a keen interest in application equipment and the customers that work with applicators. When asked about his new role David said

“Coming to the Salford team really aligns with my passion for commercial application and gives me the opportunity to provide leading solutions for commercial application businesses. Having recently been involved in a global role I am excited to get back to working directly with customers, dealers, and the products.

“We’re excited to have David join Salford and further improve our commercial application offering by leveraging his experience, strategic insight, and market connections. Valmar and BBI held the commercial application market as a key part of their business strategy for decades. Since those two companies joined Salford Group nearly a decade ago commercial application has become a part of Salford’s DNA. Solidifying Salford’s commercial application business unit, and hiring David to lead it, is a renewal of our commitment to serving commercial application customers, and Salford’s goal to continue to grow in this space,”

said Brad Baker, Salford’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

David has a history of fostering collaboration between AGCO and Valmar in the commercial application market space. This rich understanding of Salford products is allowing him to hit the ground running in the new position.

AGCO Corporation announced that Raven Industries has joined AGCO and BASF as the newest Operation Weed Eradication coalition member to support farmers in their weed control efforts. Operation Weed Eradication is an industry-wide mission to enlist tough-minded farmers and industry leaders to take the approach that the last weed standing is the strongest, most capable, and the most genetically resistant weed on the farm.

Raven Applied Technology delivers impactful technology to farmers and custom applicators around the world. Deeply committed to feeding a growing world population, Raven develops precision agriculture products that promote environmental stewardship, allowing farmers to grow more with less.

“Raven is committed to raising the bar to improve farm productivity. For more than 40 years, Raven has been leading the way in sprayer efficacy, and our participation in the Operation Weed Eradication coalition reflects our ongoing commitment to helping growers improve yields and solve challenges for their ag operations.”

said Dominic Walkes, Raven Applied Technology director of strategic initiatives.

Operation Weed Eradication takes a balanced approach of utilizing cultural practices such as tillage and cover crops, chemical control such as layering residuals and using herbicides with multiple sites of action, and eradication diligence such as managing weeds around field edges to help growers eradicate Palmer amaranth and waterhemp from their fields.

“As we continue to build upon the efforts to drive an eradication mindset toward on-farm pigweed, the Operation Weed Eradication coalition welcomes the opportunity to add Raven as a coalition member, which will only make this industrywide initiative stronger. Palmer amaranth and waterhemp are incredibly difficult weeds to control, so it is imperative that we continue to work with farmers and others in the industry to combat these weeds using multiple approaches.”

said Nick Fassler, BASF technical marketing group manager.

AGCO was the first company to join the Operation Weed Eradication coalition.

“We are excited to have Raven join the Operation Weed Eradication coalition. Adding industry members to the coalition continues to drive the initiative to eliminate these hard-to-control weed species. Our technology and systems, available through AGCO’s RoGator and TerraGator platforms, are geared to give farmers, retailers, and professional applicators the agronomic advantage.”

said David Webster, AGCO director of marketing for application equipment.

AGCO Corporation, a world-leading manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment introduces AGCO Connect, the next generation telemetry solution for North American customers and dealers to improve productivity, efficiency, and profitability. Under AGCO’s Fuse smart farming division

AGCO Connect was released in Europe in 2018 and will launch in North America at the 2019 Farm Progress Show in Decatur, IL, August 27–29.
AGCO Connect allows customers and dealers to connect their AGCO mixed fleet under one simple and easy to use platform from anywhere, at any time. Customers can see the current status of their machines and how their machines have been performing in terms of fuel levels and consumption rates, engine hours and time to service, and current and historical positioning–all communicated over a secure data platform. The benefits include logistics management, remote accessibility, and more informed decision making abilities.

Dealers have a selection of tools to enable proactive and insightful service delivery, such as diagnostic support features, to help with planning and forecasting service support for customers. Dealers also have an overview of machine activity, including service requirements, error codes, machine and owner information, and the ability to assist with remote diagnostics, allowing customer support to begin quickly and remotely.

A unique feature of AGCO Connect lets customers and dealers personalize their Connect application by choosing a preferred brand, including AGCO Connect, Challenger Connect, Fendt Connect, and MF Connect. Regardless of the brand application, all users will receive the same data depending onthe customer or dealer interface.

“Our latest telemetry solution is built upon the needs of our customers and dealers,” says Matt Wong, Director, Fuse North America. “AGCO Connect allows you to have real-time information about your equipment in the palm of your hand through the mobile app,or on a computer. With this latest innovative, modern, and intuitive smart farming solution, we’re excited for what the future holds for our customers and dealers.”

A free 1-year subscription is available to current high horsepower equipment owners, with new owners receiving a 3-year subscription. A three-year subscription is available for new application equipment owners, with more models eligible for subscriptions to follow.

This smart farming solution is a direct outcome of AGCO’s goal of a fully connected fleet that allows customers to track and optimize individual machine and fleet performance, and dealers to support customers faster and better, reducing machine downtime.

With this latest telemetry offering, customers and dealers are well-positioned to maximize their opportunities to be more efficient, empowering our customers to focus on what they love—farming.
