Powerful, versatile performance

The MF 9S Series offers powers from 285hp to 425hp. Along with Massey Ferguson’s unique Protect-U design, all models are equipped with an enhanced engine design and updated Dyna-VT transmission to improve performance and productivity.

Equipped ready for smart farming, the tractors come with MF Guide and MF Connect telemetry as standard, while comfort and control are further enhanced with the new MF AutoTurn, AutoHeadland and ISOBUS Tractor Implement Management options.

Straightforward Stage V engine power

Power for all MF 9S models is delivered by the well proven six-cylinder, 8.4-litre AGCO Power engine. Engine Power Management (EPM) boosts torque up to 1,750Nm and generates up to 30hp of extra power at speeds above 15 km/h for PTO and hydraulic applications on all models (except the MF 9S.425).

The engine complies with the Stage V emissions regulations using a simplified version of the renowned All-In-One system, which no longer uses an EGR valve. Instead it employs a new, straightforward turbocharging system, with a single, advanced turbo. Together these updates greatly increase reliability and reduce maintenance costs. Perfectly integrated below the cab this concept, combined with the low bonnet, maintains best-in-class visibility to the front right-hand side.

Engines complying with Tier 3 emission regulations are also available, depending on specific market requirements.

To provide plenty of capacity for long working days, without the need for refills, is a 10% larger, 660-litre fuel tank as well as a 68-litre AdBlue tank. The engine is also designed to run on HVO fuel, to provide more sustainable operations.

Supremely quiet and comfortable cab

Massey Ferguson’s unique Protect-U engine and cab installation delivers unrivalled visibility and comfort. Key to its success is an 18cm gap that isolates the encapsulated engine from the cab.

This reduces noise, heat and vibration inside the cab that, at 69dBa, is one of the quietest on the market. With a volume of 3.4m³ it’s also one of the most spacious workplaces in the sector. Combined with a wasp-waisted bonnet, the inclined windscreen offers unparalleled visibility and comfort.

The Premium specification seat is fitted with a large comfortable armrest, which holds the Datatronic 5 touchscreen terminal and Multipad joystick. These provide optimum control and setting of all the main functions, including the electric spool valves.

Operators working long days will find that, as well as a ventilated box under the passenger seat, there is also a wide range of storage compartments, cup and bottle holders located in convenient positions.

A powerful heating and demisting system, with climate control air-conditioning maintains, a comfortable temperature, with 14 outlets that operators can adjust to direct the airflow.

On top of the Exclusive specification, is a further Professional Package option, which provides an air hose connection and electrical supply mounted near the steps, along with a portable toolbox, hose, blow gun and torch.

Unrivalled visibility

Unrivalled, all-round vision is ensured through the 6.6m² total glazed area. The windscreen, which slopes down to the front, combined with the large overhanging roof, cuts the glare from the sun and helps keep the cab cooler. The screen is kept clear by the wide sweep of the large parallelogram wiper that covers nearly three quarters of the area (72%), while another clears the side screen.

Along with the standard rear-facing camera, a further three can be added to provide an all-round view of the implement as well as the road ahead and behind.

A new, advanced 360° LED lighting configuration turns night into day with up to a total of 23 working lights in addition to the LED high beams and rotating beacons included in this pack.

Fingertip control

Optimum, intuitive operation is provided by the standard Datatronic 5 touchscreen terminal and Fieldstar 5 extended screen option. The new easy to read MF vDisplay digital dashboard, which is mounted on the cab post, shows all the tractor information and allows settings to be easily personalised and changed with a rotary knob on the steering wheel.

Automation makes work easier

With the MF 9S Massey Ferguson is also introducing new levels of automation. MF AutoTurn, an option for MF Guide, automatically steers the tractor into the next wayline.

With AutoHeadland two headland sequences can also be automatically started and stopped, according to the tractor GPS position. With the Trimble GPS receiver delivering sub-metre precision as standard, this not only improves repeatable accuracy but also relieves the operator of repetitive tasks.

This full automated package increases productivity and accuracy, reduces soil compaction at the headland as well as cuts fuel consumption while reducing fatigue.

Datatronic 5 and optional Fieldstar 5 touchscreen terminals, equipped with MF Guide, MF TaskDoc and MF Connect telemetry as standard, make smart farming easy with optional MF Section Control and MF Rate Control to further increase efficiency.

Optimum automated operation

For ultimate automation, the MF 9S Series is available with Tractor Implement Management (TIM) as an option. This advanced ISOBUS-based system provides automatic management of the tractor’s electronic functions according to the operation and implement’s requirements.

This enables a TIM ISOBUS compliant implement to manage and control tractor functions, such as forward speed and the hydraulics, which improves performance and work quality as well as comfort, while reducing costs and operator fatigue.

Protect soil and cut fuel consumption

All MF 9S tractors come with the option of Massey Ferguson’s new Central Tyre Inflation System (CTIS). Controlled through Datatronic 5 or Fieldstar 5 terminals, it quickly adjusts pressure to reduce compaction and achieve optimum traction.

Employing a twin, 650 litre/min compressor, it takes just four minutes to increase pressure in typical set of VF 710/75R42 + VF 620/75R30 tyres from 0.8 bar to 1.6 bar.

CTIS is proven to reduce fuel consumption by 10% to 15%, as well as cut compaction by facilitating an up to a 150% larger footprint. At the same time the system can increase traction and reduce unnecessary tyre wear.

Standard Dyna-VT transmission

All MF 9S tractors come as standard with Massey Ferguson’s renowned Dyna-VT continuously variable transmission, with new power management to deliver additional torque and horsepower. This has a separate oil reservoir to the hydraulics to eliminate any risk of contamination and lengthen service life and is particularly helpful when operating tractor fleets.

Highly efficient hydraulics handle the most demanding implements

MF 9S Series tractors benefit from an uprated ECO hydraulic system. This delivers 205 litres/min at just 1,650 rpm or 270 litres/min at 1,850 rpm, which helps save fuel and cut noise levels. Oil is delivered by an open-centre and a closed-centre pump, with a dedicated pump for control valves.

A new dual closed-centre pump option, which delivers 340 litres/min at 1,650rpm or 400 litres/min at 1,850 rpm, is available with six spool valves. One pump supplies continuous flow to three valves, while another provides variable flow to the other three and looks after ancillary circuits, such as the steering.

A new configuration with six valves enables the use of a valve, in a ¾” coupler, to provide a flow of 170 litres/min, while the five others still deliver 140 litres/min. For easy disconnection all valves are equipped with decompression levers.

A higher capacity hydraulic tank provides 101 litres of exportable oil capacity, to power complex equipment. To handle heavier implements is a new hydraulic top link option, with a larger, 120mm diameter ram, to increase lift capacity to 20t.

A new, straightforward, 5t capacity front linkage, connected to the first rear valve, provides an affordable option for those who do not require front hydraulic couplers. Configurations with independent valves are available and offer up to two front lines, a free return and ISOBUS socket.

Versatile by design

Built on a 3.1m wheelbase, the MF 9S tractors combine exceptional stability with agility. Weighing in from just 10,900kg, the MF 9S.425 offers a best-in-class power-to-weight ratio of just 25.4kg/hp, which boosts performance.

The light weight increases the payload and enhances fuel economy (1t of extra weight adds 1 litre/hr more consumption in transport), but for heavy draft work and higher traction the tractors can be ballasted up to 18,500kg, providing a power-to-weight ratio of up to 64.9kg/hp for the smallest model.

Further increasing performance in the field and for transport is the excellent Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 16t at 50km/h, which is 1t more than the MF 8700 S, and Gross Combination Weight (GCW) of up to 50t (depending on market).

A new suspended front axle provides a turning radius of just 5.75m, depending on tyres. A larger 125mm diameter rear bar axle enables more power to be transmitted to the ground and supports larger loads.

The new axle also accommodates a greater choice of wheels and tyres, with the factory fitted range including the Michelin EvoBib as well as large diameter tyres, such as the 2.18m, VF 750/70R44, which increase traction and reduce soil compaction. Coupled with the CTIS option and low weight of the MF 9S this further minimises ground pressure, making it ideal for soil preparation and seeding operations.

Celebrating 62 years of production in Beauvais
Thierry Lhotte, vice president and managing director, Massey Ferguson EAME, and president of AGCO in France presented the one-millionth tractor produced in Beauvais – a brand-new MF 8S.305 Dyna-VT – to Thierry Aubrée, an arable farmer and contractor from the village of La Chapelle des Fougeretz in Brittany, France. “On behalf of all our employees and dealers, I want to thank our customers for their steadfast trust,” said Lhotte. The new 8S adds to Aubrée’s expanding Massey Ferguson fleet that already includes four tractors, three combines, and two large balers.

Boussad Bouaouli, vice president, manufacturing Beauvais, emphasized employee commitment on the Beauvais MF campus development.

“From 1960, there have always been people who kept the site moving, always with the right farmer-first focus to address challenges of the times and, above all, with a clear view to the future,”

Bouaouli said.

It all started with the MF 825 in 1960. From then, the site grew continuously, producing iconic tractors driven by innovation, including:

• MF 3000 Series in 1986, the first tractor with onboard electronics,
• MF 8600 in 2008, introducing the efficient power concept, which reduces environmental impact, courtesy of the first use of SCR technology on an ag machine,
• MF 8S Series in 2020, with its award-winning Protect-U concept, which features a 9.4-inch gap between the cab and the engine installation, reducing heat, noise, and vibrations being transmitted to the cab and improving cooling and performance. The MF 8S Series received the Tractor of the Year 2021, Red Dot: Product Design 2021 and Farm Machine 2022 awards.

The facility produces many of the brand’s most popular tractors, including the MF 4700 M, MF 5700 M, MF 5S, MF 6S, MF 7S, MF 8S and MF 8700 S Series. Up to 100 tractors can be produced and shipped daily to dealers in more than 70 countries.

“As we hand over this one-millionth tractor, we are set to unify our sites into a single MF Campus with all our departments under one roof. This offers high flexibility and leverages the unique experiences, skills and commitment of the people who work here. This tractor milestone is our 2,500 employees’ success, including our GIMA transmissions’ Joint Venture.”

High performance in the yard and field

The MF 5S Series includes five models from 105hp to 145hp. All come with a choice of Exclusive, Efficient, Panoramic or Essential specifications, which offer a range of performance enhancing features to suit all types of farms and applications.

Power for all is delivered by the latest AGCO Power 4.4-litre, four-cylinder engine that meets the latest Stage V emissions regulations with the unique ‘All in One’ SCR technology, designed for the life of the tractor.

Transmission choice

MF 5S Series tractors are available with either the Dyna-4 or Dyna-6 semi-powershift transmission, both with Automatic Mode. A helpful Brake-to-Neutral feature disengages drive when the brakes are applied.

Ultimate loader tractor

The MF 5S Series are ultimate loader tractors – offering industry-leading manoeuvrability, excellent visibility, down to just 4m over the slim, steep-nosed bonnet, as well as efficient, high-flow hydraulics delivering up to 110 litres/min.

Loading operations are made much easier thanks to the new joystick, excellent transmission controls as well as Brake-to-Neutral. To improve visibility and safety, the Visio Roof option provides a clear view of the attachment through the whole lifting range.

Cabs on all MF 5S Series models are equipped to a high specification, with Exclusive and Efficient models, coming with a new armrest. First seen on the award-winning MF 8S range, this houses the Multipad joystick that controls a number of functions including forward/reverse shuttle, linkage and spool valves.

Top field performance

High performance out in the field is ensured thanks to the robust three-point linkage, which can lift up to 6,000kg – 14% more than the previous models.

There is also the latest integrated front linkage. Developed for mounting with the new suspended axle, it helps maintain the industry-leading 4m turning radius. With its increased capacity from 2,500kg to 3,000kg, the front linkage enables operators to improve efficiency by employing larger, wider implements.

Thanks to its impressive 9.5t Gross Vehicle Weight, which is 12% higher than before, the MF 5S can also safely carry and handle larger loads.

Complete connectivity

MF 5S Series can be fully connected with MF Connect telemetry an option on all. A new Geofencing function improves logistics management and security by sending alerts to smart phones and devices if and when machines exit or enter pre-defined areas.

Massey Ferguson’s Datatronic 5 terminal is standard on Exclusive models and an option on Efficient. This ISOBUS compatible, touch-screen operator information station monitors all the tractor functions and controls any ISOBUS compliant implement.

Datatronic 5 can also run MF Technologies’ precision farming functions, including MF Guide automatic steering, as well as MF Section Control and the latest MF Rate Control, which can now handle and manage up to 96 sections, three booms and five products.

Pre-installed MF TaskDoc software is used to create field records, as applied maps, log fuel use, make job reports as well as keep an accurate account of all inputs to every hectare.

“The VE Series planters continue a long tradition of delivering accurate planting with minimal downtime, wear, or required maintenance. These are the latest in the evolution of planting solutions from AGCO, and they feature a redesigned, more durable row unit plus the opportunity to add many Precision Planting technologies right at the factory. These planters are designed to ensure that growers are planting at the proper depth with the right spacing, singulation, and downforce for maximizing yield, no matter the crop,”

Previous planter offerings from White Planters will be available within the Massey Ferguson VE Series.

The wide range of toolbar choices, widths, and planting accessories from White Planters will be available within the Massey Ferguson VE Series, Santos adds. The planter line offers solutions for all growers — from conventional tillage to no-till operations to those who demand the latest technologies that allow for variable-rate, high-speed planting, and individual row control. The VE Series is available in a variety of row-unit and spacing combinations, including six, eight, 12, 16, 23, 24, and 36 rows and spacings of 15, 20, 22, 30, 36, 38, and 40 inches.

New row-unit enhances accuracy and longevity

Built upon the proven design of White Planters row units, the VE Series Heads Up row-unit pairs easily with the most advanced Precision Planting tools and technology available today. Several design changes ensure the longevity and performance of the row-unit itself and make planter setup and maintenance easier and more convenient.

What is likely to become the most appreciated change to the row-unit is the redesign of the seed tube guard mount. Two guards are available: a standard assembly cast of nickel material and an extended-wear guard assembly made of stainless and tungsten, which is recommended for high-speed planting with SpeedTube.

“With the redesigned mount, farmers can remove or install the guards into fully assembled row units. It’s no longer necessary to remove the gauge wheels and opener blades to perform maintenance on the guard, so it’s a huge time saver,”

Santos says.

The redesigned shank casting now features an access hole that makes it easier to plumb lines for liquid fertilizer. The hole is ahead of the seed tube, improving overall routing for the lines while also protecting them from the opener disc blades.

Many row-unit components have received the “heavy-duty” treatment to further increase the unit’s overall durability. Several castings are thicker, and bushings are larger and more robust. These enhancements improve the service life of the unit and decrease the need for maintenance.

Planter design is geared toward precision

With the combination of White Planters’ legacy of dependable and straightforward design and the latest technologies from Precision Planting, the VE Series assures growers a 99% or greater accuracy in seed placement while managing every row unit individually in real-time.

“Many VE Series planter models come from the factory with Precision Planting products — including vSet2 meters, vDrive electronic drive, DeltaForce and the 20|20 Gen3 monitor — already installed. Plug-and-play aftermarket options such as SmartFirmer seed-firmer sensor, FlowSense and FurrowForce can be added by a Precision Planting dealer on all planters,”

Santos says.

Other options and attachments, including several single- and double-disc fertilizer openers, colters, residue managers, press wheels, and blades, also are available.

The VE Series planters are available with individual 3-bushel row-unit hoppers or a 90-bushel central-fill system. Depending on the model, 300-, 500- and 750-gallon liquid fertilizer tanks are available, as are dry fertilizer and insecticide delivery. For extra-large capacity, the VE Series planter is available in a track version with 150-bushel central-fill capacity and two 750-gallon liquid fertilizer tanks.

AGCO Corporation announces a new era of farmer-focused technology and straightforward dependability with the North American availability of the Massey Ferguson 8S tractor.

The uniquely designed 8S, available in 205 to 265 HP, will debut at the 2021 Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Illinois, Aug. 31 thru Sept. 2, and is available for order through Massey Ferguson dealerships for delivery in early 2022.

The exciting new MF 8S Series begins a new era for the storied tractor brand. Massey Ferguson began the 8S project with a blank page and built a complete farming solution based on an in-depth “Voice of the Customer” study, which included one-on-one interviews with operators around the globe.

“Massey Ferguson designed this line of tractors to be straightforward and dependable using direct input from farmers. With a spacious cab, less noise and vibration, and better visibility, Massey Ferguson sets up growers for a comfortable yet productive season with less downtime,”

The 8S features Massey Ferguson’s exclusive Protect-U design, creating a 9.4-inch gap between the engine and the cab. This unique feature protects the operator while giving tremendous front visibility and comfort.

Designed for comfort

The exclusive MF Protect-U engine and cab installation design provide visibility, comfort, efficiency, and ultimate protection for 8S operators. The distinctive 9.4-inch space between the engine and cab reduces noise and vibration, making it one of the quietest cabs on the market.

Because the engine is separated away from the cab, it increases airflow which contributes to better engine performance through improved cooling capabilities. It also contributes to heat insulation for the cab, keeping the operator comfortable while improving engine cooling capacity and efficiency, maximizing uptime.

The spacious cab – together with the narrow hood design, an inclined windshield bending toward the front, and a higher vantage point – offers ultimate visibility and comfort.

The new cab layout uses simple color-coding on all controls to help operators get right to work. The 7.4-liter Tier 4 Final AGCO Power engine delivers performance and stability in the 8S Series tractors. The 8S is available in two transmission options. The Dyna-VT, Massey Ferguson’s proven CVT transmission, allows operators to select the exact speed and engine RPM needed for the job at hand.

The 8S Series is built with Massey Ferguson’s commitment to helping protect the soil and preserve the land with future generations in mind.

With a minimum weight of just 8.7 tons, the 8S is lighter than others in its class. The lightweight tractors can tread lightly for top work and transport, while the strong design enables them to carry heavy loads or be ballasted up for draft operations.

The wide range of ballast and tire choices, including a large rear wheel diameter of 80.7 inches, ensures the 8S tractors can be precisely tailored to tasks, guaranteeing maximum traction and soil preservation while using a minimum amount of fuel.

With a 10-foot wheelbase length, the 8S offers improved stability with or without a heavy implement and maintains high levels of traction in the field and increased comfort in transport. The combination of the wheelbase and chassis design means less ballasting weight is needed, ensuring maximum soil preservation and reduced ground pressure during cultivation, drilling, and seeding.
